I found an annoying little thing when the volume limit is set to any other value than 100%.

For example when the volume limit is set to 99% the volume levels 0 and 1 are muted and when the volume limit is set to 30% the volume levels 0,1,2,3 are muted. I’m guessing it is problem with wrong rounding method (rounding down instead of up).

I think that expected behaviour is to set 0 to mute and 1 to minimal volume whatever the volume limit is set.

I found it when my alarm volume was set to 3 and later I changed the volume limit to 30%. There was no morning alarm next day. ;-(

That is not the philosophy Sonos uses; when the limiter is applied it scales down linearly across all volume levels. It works fine for me and I prefer this approach.

It is very different from any other devices I have.

I agree, it would be expected with analog knob but Sonos is not analog. It works more like potentiometer with switch and minimal loudness is fixed on some level. 0 is off and any other value should be on. From 1 to 99 it would be still linear.

It is more obvious for someone using external remote, when you need 4 clicks from 0 to turn music on or, like in my case, when I set alarm volume to 1. I’m not expecting to hear dead silence, depends on any other setting.

In my opinion it makes sense.
