Amazon Alexa and Sonos

Since yesterday, if we tell Alexa to 'play realjazz on SiriusXM,' she responds with 'playing realjazz on SiriusXM' but no music ever starts. If you start the music through the app using her as a zone, it plays, but if you say 'Alexa shut up' she doesn't stop the music as usual. It seems the Sonos functionality of Alexa is tweaked somehow. Other non-Sonos functionality of Alexa seems fine, like if I ask her to tell me a joke or the weather, she does so joyfully. How can I fix this?

Hi, I have a mix of Sonos One and older speakers. I have a Play3 in the baby’s room and every time I speak to Alexa in any room it’ll mute the Play3 which might be playing white noise for the baby. I tried removing the speaker from the Alexa devices but it’ll still get muted any time I say Alexa. How can I make this stop?

Trying to link my FireTV to my Sonos One, but when I click on the Link URL, will get a message stating ‘Sorry, we could not find any devices to link’. Network strength is very strong, and I’ve spent the last 30 minutes trying to diagnose the issue. Any ideas?

Hi, I would like to purchase 3 Sonos Ones for our bedrooms and get rid of our amazon dots. If my teenagers have their own amazon prime login with the Amazon family share would they be able to login with their accounts but still have the speakers in their own room in the controller app?

Hi, Alexa is now speaking french for some weeks. I now control my sonos speakers via my Echo dot and the Sonos Skill... and this works great! Why don't you let Alexa directly work on the Sonos One and Beam in Belgium like it does in France?

Does anyone know how to remove an Alexa account from the SONOS app on an Android? 1) I removed the SONOS skill from the Alexa app, deregistered the SONOS, and then logged out of the Alexa app. 2) I logged out of the Amazon shopping app. 3) In the SONOS app, I go to "Voice Services" > and the Amazon Alexa account is still there. When I select it, I have the standard options for Room Settings, View Alexa Setup, and Learn More. Neither of the three have an option to remove the account. Am I missing something here? How do I remove the Alexa account?

All has been great with my Sonos One for months. Come in the door and ask Alexa to play stuff and she always obliged. All was great this morning while working in the kitchen and told her to stop playing and she did. Came in this afternoon and called her name and don’t get the bong. Called her again... nothing. Third time and nothing so I pulled her plug, waited a minute and plugged her back in. After a few minutes still no response to ‘Alexa.’ I even yelled right in her ear. Any ideas to get her working again? The app says something about no internet connection but everything is working fine elsewhere as far as that is concerned. Not sure what I’m missing.

I see you can ask Google Home Mini what song is playing on Spotify and you will get the relevant answer but it won’t tell you the name of a song playing on internet radio on Tunein. Can you ask Alexa on Sonos One what song is playing on internet radio, for example, from WBGO JAZZ radio in the same way you can on Spotify?

Hi, I can't seem to get Sonos to play a song when I tell Alexa, "Play XX in the Kitchen" - Here is some additional information. Both Amazon Alexa and Sonos do work fine independently. I have enabled the Sonos skill in the Amazon Alexa app. I have set up Sonos in the '"Kitchen". Sonos does work fine if I control Sonos from my Sonos App. However, when I tell Alexa to play a song in tn the "Kitchen", she seems to accept the command perfectly but no sound comes out of the speaker. Any ideas? Additionally, I recently moved, so not sure if that should make a difference. Thanks

I've given this two attempts so far and am getting pretty frustrated with the process. Hoping this can shortcut me to a solution. :) I just got my Sonos Beam. It's setup and working fine as a standalone speaker (I can play music on it through the Sonos App), and it's also working fine as a speaker for my TV (connected via HDMI-ARC). I also have an Amazon Echo in the same room. I'm trying to power on/off my TV using Alexa. When I say, "Alexa, turn the TV on" she responds with, "Sorry, I didn't find a device named TV." From within the Alexa app, when I select "Add Device," the discovering devices wizard begins but always comes back with "No new devices found." ???? Thanks, Chris

Hi, I have an echo dot and a sonos setup in my living room, it all seems to be working fine in general (e.g. streaming music/radio by voice command). I also have a record player which can stream via bluetooth to a speaker - and I can connect this to the echo dot and play on its internal speaker. However, I would like to direct the output to the sonos setup. Is this possible? I tried various voice commands (e.g. 'play on living room', 'play bluetooth on living room' etc.) - but they aren't accepted. Is it possible to use an echo dot as a bridge in this way? Thanks

Hello. Does anyone know if you can control the Sonos speakers through the Amazon Echo Spot like you can with the Echo Dot? Everything I saw online said just the Echo and Echo Dot, but I couldn't find anything about the Spot.

I have 4 echos in my house grouped to the “everywhere” group through Alexa. I added my Sonos Play 1 and it works fine by itself with any simple alexa commands. However, I tried to add my Sonos speaker to my everywhere group but it doesn’t seem like this is an option. Can anybody tell me if I can play my music on ALL of my echo devices AND my Sonos at the same time? If I can’t add Sonos speakers to the everywhere group along with my Echo devices, I’m less likely to purchase an additional Sonos like I planned. Isn’t the whole point to be able to play music in all the speakers at the same time?

I have received and configured the new BEAM and grouped it with two Sonos Ones with a Sony A1. The Beam is ethernet connected to the house network and ARC connected via HDMI to a Sony A1 TV. I also have a Sonos 1 in a separate group. Alexa is working on the Beam and L/R Sones Ones - answers questions - tells the time - controls Hue lights etc. However: Alexa - when requested to play music from Tune In / Amazon Music etc (all configured in the Sonos App) - acknowledge the request. "Play WSM Country in Tune In"... response... Playing WSM Country. "Play Freedom 90 by the Bellas"...response... I've connected the same Spotify account in both the Alexa app, where I've used it for months and now the Sonos app, where playing music "manually" through the app (you know - like a labourer!) and from the Spotify app itself (through Airplay I suppose) work just fine, but if I say something like "Alexa, play The Beatles" it starts trying to sell me Amazon Unlimited, which I am not interested in. So I try again, with "Alexa, play The Beatles from Spotify", and it says "Spotify music is not supported on this device" - which I am currently disproving by listening to Spotify while writing this. I'm aware linking all these accounts and services together must be a hard job - in fact, I spend 8 hours a day writing integration services for the educational sector - but when something I write breaks down I have a stack trace to help me debug the issue. Connect my Phone with Amazon Echo dot with Bluetooth or Headphone jack and play songs from my phone and can i transfer this music to my Sonos Play-1 using voice command. Is this Possible?

I installed Spotify app on Sonos. I have the Sonos skill in Alexa. In Alexa Sonos appears 2 times : 1) as sonos one with my name (location Belgium where I live) 2) as living room (location Belgium again) I can not change my device (sonos) location , not in my app on iphone , not online at alexa.amazon.com to a supported country Under settings "Music settings" "choose default music service" I can not select Spotify What I can do : Open Spotify on iphone , select a play list , play it through the Sonos and then say "alexa play next song"

I have a new Beam. Set up worked fine until Alexa which does work. Also noticed I cannot get the mic light to turn on.

Hi, I just installed my Sonos one last night. Got all the skills, apps setup. Go to ask Alexa to play a song from Amazon Music, she replies saying 'playing (artist name) from Amazon Music' then nothing happens. Anyone else having these problems or know a solution? Thanks!

So i'm pleased that the Spotify integration landed early - not so pleased that it doesn't seem to work properly. I can get Alexa to play my playlists "play my Prince playlist" will work. But when I say "Play songs by Prince" Alexa responds: "Playing songs by Prince, on Spotify" but then precisely nothing happens. Whatever song was playing before I issued the command continues to play. Anyone else suffering with this? Thanks

Set alexa up. I can play music by command through my living room speakers. But what command do you use to go back to playing the TV audio?

Got my beam yesterday , and easy to set up , all working including Alexa .....or so I thought !!!! There are a lot of features and settings not available on Alexa with the Beam , I can't change sound settings , and other settings , also when trying to make a call using Alexa on the beam it says it is not supported on this device , Have I done something wrong in set up , or is this a cut down version of Alexa ?

Hi we just got a dot and we are trying to link it to our Sonos play1, I am getting an error at the songs login each time. When I start to add the Skill I login to the Amazon side, it then takes me to the Sonos login. when I login to that I get this error Add your Sonos speakers to your account You need to link speakers to r******@********.co.uk before you can add this skill. Go to More > Settings > Sonos Account in the Sonos app to link your speakers. (If you don't see Sonos Account, your Sonos system needs an update.) Sign in with a different account I've fixed the problem The Sonos is up to date (done today) and I can see the device in the Sonos account and manage it through the website and phone app so I don't see why it thinks I need to add a device. I have tried this on my phone and via the Alexa website, using two different browsers I can't get past this, can anyone help? Cheers Tom

I have created a playlist on the sonos playlist but I want to know if there is a way to access it via alexa. It's a pain in the butt to have to go to the sonos app every time to start it. Then what's the point in having Alexa?
