Amazon Alexa and Sonos

After several conversations with Sonos support, I have discovered my Echo Dot is causing interference with the Sonos Connect, which intermittently stops the music and produces error messages such as, “Encoding error...” or “SiriusXM no longer plays Ch. 76...” I had used the Echo Dot for a year without this problem, which began about a month ago. By now I’ve tried changing to the Wired configuration, and making sure the Channel of the 2.4G connection to my cable modem/router is different than the Sonos network channel. Alexa still works with the Sonos speakers. Anyone else have this problem?

I am new to Sonos and bought an Arc with two speakers for the TV in lounge. However, I am trying out the Sonos One and Sonos One SL in the kitchen and they are fabulous. My issue is that Alexa was working fine with the One but then I paired it with the SL and it has stopped working.The shop told me I could pair them and still use voice assistant. Help, please.

I have google assistant working on the sonos with everything working ok, but can’t get it to add anything to my ‘shopping list’. It keeps saying i need to change my permission. I’ve allowed everything on my app, I can even add things to my ‘shopping list’ via voice control on my phone, but not on the sonos.  Help?!

I have a sonos one & beam both Alexa capable and both in a group on Alexa. When I ask Alexa to play music it is only playingfrom 1 device within the group. This use to work and the only thing that has changed is that we had a sky box installed. 

Spotify and Tune In will not play on my Sonos I have switched router and have Deco M5All was fineNow Alexa is working When I say play xxx It says XXX from Spotify. Hello -- I have a Sonos Playbar and Sonos Ones in my apartment.   Just bought a Sonos Move for to use for the summer at a rental beach house.  I added Alexa in the Sonos app and the Move is showing up in the Alexa app on my phone.  Alexa can tell me the time, set a timer, tell me the weather, etc.   I can also play music from the Sonos App and access my iTunes/Pandora/Spotify/etc.    When I ask Alexa to play [Artist] on [iTunes/Pandora/Spotify/etc.] she responds: “to do that, first enable the skill for your sonos move in your Alexa app, then ask me to discover devices.”  I have tried to follow these instructions, to no avail.    Is it possible that Alexa cannot work on two different WiFi networks?

I’ve just set up my Sonos Arc and Move and when ever I ask Alexa to play a radio station, it constantly breaks up and even repeats itself. If I ask Alexa to play anything from Apple Music or ask for information, it’s perfect. The Move is In a separate room to the Arc and not linked. This has been happening for a few weeks now and it’s driving me mad.Has anyone else had this problem?

When the Sonos skill will be in Alexa Brazil?

I have a Sonos One and I am getting Alexa to talk to me but when it comes time to paying something from an App or from Spotify it says device is online.   I have disabled all the relevant skills and reenabled them but nothing plays.  Alexa talks to me and is responsive, tells me all about the app and the cost etc  but then nothing actually plays and she says device is offline.   I see it online when i play music from my Spotify app.  Its just not working with Alexa. Help please 

I have used alexa or a while on beam. Now alexa cant be found anywhere. Any tips how to make this work? Sorry about my english :) 

Alexa has stopped playing my flash briefings. Also, Spotify no longer responds to voice commands. Spotify does work through my app. Please help as I have tried everything I can think of and I’m becoming more and more frustrated.

One of the earliest questions was around voice control over the playing of local music, as most people were expecting to be able to do more than just pause it.And Sonos kept saying it was something they were looking at.Three years later - can we do it yet?

I wonder if anyone can confirm if they can get any “sleep sounds” skills working in routines since the 12.1 update? I’ve been using Rain Sounds by Sleep Jar and tried a few others by different developersWas happy to see that Sonos now officially supports Alexa routines, but whilst I can now get Alexa to say the time/weather/various custom phrases/etc as part of a routine (without the dreaded “Audio actions are not supported...” message!), it won’t play any sleep sound skills that I’ve tried. I just get silence.If I trigger the skill outside of a routine (eg “Alexa, open rain sounds”) it works fine.

I just purchased Sonos Arc and installed it on my tv, it is amazing however the mic light does not turn on hence I cannot use Alexa on it

I have set up a simple 2 step routing to turn on two smart plugs simultaneously through Alexa. This works 100% find on a dot but I get an audio recording of "Audio actions in routines are currently not supported on this device" every time I run it from my Sonos One. How do I make this irritation go away!

When I turn off my Sony X900H using Alexa, the TV goes off but the green mute status light comes on the Arc and stays on. Anyone else having this issue? Any Advice? Thanks.

Hi, My Sonos One used to work with Alexa but I changed to Google to try that before trying to switch back.  Now Alexa won’t work.  I’ve tried reinstalling both apps and re-registering speaker etc but nothing seems to work.  I’ve read some similar problems with ‘Beam’ but following steps still didn’t work For me.  The only reason I got this was to use for voice services so if it doesn’t do the job it’s a deal-breaker.    Has anyone any further suggestions before I return the Sonos for a refund? thanks David

What do i need to do so sonos searches idagioi added idagio because search of classical music with apple is so bad (Even worse with sonos).  But sonos doesn’t seem to search in idagio at all.if that doesn’t work the whole thing is useless to mejpc

I want to use my Spotify Premium subscription on my new Sonos Move.  I can do so no problem via Google Assistant, but I’d like to be able to use Alexa instead.  When I set up Alexa as the Voice Assistant, it works with everything else eg telling a joke, the weather.  But when I ask Alexa to play music, I hear:First enable the skill for your Sonos Move in the Alexa App.  Then ask me to discover devices.I have spent literally hours and hours restarting, making sure Spotify is enabled as a skill etc etc - I have selected Spotify as the default music app.  If I ask Alexa to discover devices, she says There are no new devices to discover.I can play Spotify with no problem on the Sonos Move if I control it via the Spotify app on my iPad or phone.  Incidentally, if I ask Alexa to play eg BBC Radio Two, she says Here’s Radio Two and plays the BBC Sounds jingle … then nothing.  Nada.  Silence!  So Alexa is essentially good for nothing musical.  She seems utterly incapable of playing music via v

All, hit a problem today controlling Sonos through the Alexa App and Echo Dot… was all working fine until today when it just stopped. I have tried loads of things that were recommended on multiple threads with no joy….. so I decided to start from scratch. I set up all my Sonos again, from fresh… all these are working now and function correctly through the Sonos App… well I say working… teh Sonos App will only connect when I am in teh same room as my Play 5 (first speaker to be set up)…. it used to only work when I was next to my router… SKQQ router with a SKQ main receiver and 2 mini boxes. I then go onto Alexa App and try to enable the Sonos Skill…. it takes we to api.sonos.com and asks me to sign into my sonos account. I do this and then I get a message to ‘Register my speakers’… go to Sonos app - More>settings>account settings. My speakers are all shown in ‘systems’…   I hit ‘I’ve fixed this’ but it takes me straight back to sonos signin on api.sonos.com…. and then just loops

I bought a new Beam on Jan 5th. I connected it to my 12 month old Samsung Smart TV (Series 7) using the supplied ARC lead and it began working fine. Then, a few days later the TV wouldn’t switch on and I could only resolve the problem by disconnecting the power to the TV and after waiting a few moments reconnecting it. Since then this has been happening every few days.  I’ve checked that the remote works OK.  I thought the power supply to the TV might be the issue so I have now connected the TV directly to a wall socket instead of using an extension cable.   Samsung’s support asked me to check to see if the TVs standby light was on, off or flashing. At first I couldn’t find any standby light (it’s very feint and downwards projecting onto non-reflective surface) but when I did I noticed that when the TV was switched off it was flashing intermittently.  I disconnected the Beam and the light stopped flashing. Hey guys! I just purchased my Sonos Port yesterday with the intention of using it in conjunction with my Alexa Devises and creating a whole-home audio system. I have an Echo Dot that I wanted to use in the living room to control the Sonos Port, and Alexa speakers throughout the house. I enabled the skill for Sonos in the Alexa App. I made the Sonos Port as the “Preferred Speaker” in the room in the Alexa app, but when I go to change the echo dot speaker to use the “Preferred Speaker” (The Sonos) it doesn’t work. It still plays on the Echo Dot speaker. I tried it on my other Alexa devises and it does the same thing. On top of this I cant add the Sonos Port to a group through the Alexa app to accomplish the whole home audio I’m looking for. According to Sonos it should be able to work.  The whole reason for getting the Sonos was not only to play my online library though my surround sound, but to have whole home audio in the house. I have an Alexa Amp that gave me the whole home audio set
