Advanced setups

My PS5 is connected via HDMI to my Panasonic HX800 TV which is then connected to the Beam via ARC. Have set both the PS5 and the TV to PCM but I am still getting noticeable Audio delay when gaming / watching movies via the PS5. I feel like I have tried everything (removed all TV processing, running in Game Mode) but I can’t fix it. Can anyone help?

I’m looking for a CenturyLink certified modem with functional USB port so I can run my library from a USB flash drive. The USB port has been disabled on all the CenturyLink modems that I can find accurate info on (some literature says it’s functional when in fact it is not). Has anyone else run into this issue?

I'm doing a home renovation and have the chance to finally hardwire audio to all my rooms from my AV closet. I am trying to evaluate what it would cost to use Sonos in a multi-zone environment. I'm leaning towards one Port per zone (6 zones) and then getting a multi-zone amp to power all the speaker's. My issue is that each Port is $450, which means the total preamp setup will be a multi-thousand dollar endeavor.  Is there any work in progress for a multi-zone Port? It doesn't make sense to me that there should be multiple preamps all in the same rack when one device with 2, 4, 6, or 8 outputs could be smaller and more cost effective. I don't plan on playing different music per zone, but I do need the ability to turn each zone on and off at will as well as control the volume per zone. Is there a setup I have overlooked that would allow this with just one Sonos Port? Perhaps others have run into this conundrum and found an adequate solution.

I have heard that the Sonos apps only connect to a Sonos that is on the same subnet as the host running the app, and I am wondering if the same restriction applies to S2.  My Sonos CONNECT is on a local 10.0.0.x subnet.  I have no problem connecting to the CONNECT from a mobile S2 on a tablet or phone that is on 10.0.0.x.But I have a firewall/router attached to that subnet (as its WAN) for local hosts on 192.168.1.x (the firewwall’s LAN).  Everything on the 192.168.1.x subnet sees everything on the 10.0.0.x subnet, and the firewall (temporarily) allows ALL TCP and UDP traffic on all ports that originate anywhere on the 10.0.0.x subnet to enter the 192.168.1.x subnet.  Running the S2 app on my Windows machine at 192.168.1.35 cannot see the Sonos CONNECT, which makes me think it is using a restrictive probe that ignores any responses not coming from what it thinks is the local network, so when it gets a response from 10.0.0.18 (the Sonos CONNECT) but it is running on 192.168.1.35, then i

My father passed two years ago and the speaker that is hooked up to the TV works. I'm trying to get the other three to work around the room but I have to log into the app and do not have access to the email that he used. What can I do? Two are small and same model, and one is huge with a huge space in the middle. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

I have a Sonos arc, sub and 2SLs in a surroundsound system. My system is in the middle of a long room. To the right side of the viewing area is my kitchen and to the left side of the viewing area is a private area for conversation. So this is my question. When I’m using Trueplay to tune the sound should I remain within the surroundsound area or should I wander outside of it into the kitchen or into the additional sitting area, (both of which are outside of the surroundsound speakers)?

Dedicated setup for only listening music. 11x12 ft room. I have Tidal HiFi and Spotify Premium.Question:What SUB settings do you use on your Sonos Amp SUB cross over?When I start playing and launch the app, the sub settings doesn't show up. And later after playing for sometime it shows up. I have a screen shot of sub settings of the app here.When you turn off the SUB?  You hear more high and mid level.  Why does the Sonos Amp do that?  I know it adds a filter and sends more lower freq to sub.   I do prefer keeping the loudness ON. sometimes I listen to music at a low volume.  SUB Level and Phase Calibration :I used an iOS SPL app Decibel X for iPhone to calibrate the speakers and Sub. [ Ceiling Height: 20’: Dolby Atmos ]Aug. 12, 2020 Dear Community Friends, In a conversation with Sonos Sales today, I understand that the Sonos Arc’s recommended maximum ceiling height is 14’. I am wondering if there a community member who has tried the Sonos Arc in a 20’ ceiling height environment - if yes, please share your experiences - if there was any degradation in the quality of Dolby Atmos, was it enough to warrant not investing in the product? Please advise. Thanks.

I have a wifi extender for the garden. All my sonos products are on the main wifi. However when my phone switches onto the extender wifi, I can no longer access the Sonos network in the App. The extender is TP-link (same as router) and is on the one-mesh setting with same name and password. 1st world problem I know! But annoying!

Hi, I recently bought a Amp and I’m enjoying it.  I’m running a dedicated Roon Server from my PC and using the Sonos Amp as one of my endpoints.I’m aware that it downsamples HiRes 24bit files to 16bit when playing via Sonos.My Question:  Are there any technical barriers to providing 24bit streaming to the Sonos Amp? Or is it more a matter of your user community not having the bandwidth to provide an enjoyable user experience? I stream 24bit bit to other non-Sonos hardware in my home without issue. But I also have gigabit Ethernet, so that may be an issue for a large swath of the Sonos community.I like the Sonos Amp, but would love it even more if could take advantage of 24bit audio.

Why for the love of god does SONOS not support DTS audio?  No workarounds, no suggestions to look at buying a deconverter.  No I don’t want to RIP my blu rays and connect a server to watch a movie.  I want to understand why SONOS cannot support DTS audio?  Primarily BluRay 4k HD user.  

I’m having trouble with a new Sonos One (Gen2) that regular as clockwork goes offline about 5.30am in the morning and needs a power cycle to get back online.I’ve logged onto my sonos network via http://<sonos IP>:1400/status/ and checked the STP status page. (Didn’t realise you could do this but found out how on Google). This is showing some of the devices as ‘blocking’ - I am assuming this is normal, to avoid a loop (according to Wikipedia), and hence not responsible for the problems I am having?I have suggested to two diffeent people at Sonos today that I think the issue is IP address related but they are declining to comment on that.  Any observations would be appreciated!

Hey Community! I have had a beam and 2 bookshelf symfonsiks hooked up for surround sound in my living room and recently acquired a one sl for my kitchen in my apartment. I assumed I’d be able to balance out trueplay between all speaker but it appears the sonos software forces me to have two seperate groups. Group 1: beam and 2 bookshelf symfonsiks and then Group 2: the One SL. Is there a way to have all the speakers be apart of one group such that sound can be balance between all four speakers?

 Hello,All of a sudden my Sonos speaker was no longer logged in on my iPhone app nor computer. (It is not possible to log in from neither my iPhone nor my Mac in the Sonos app can you get to Settings or Preferences when you're not signed in. The only option other than to sign in is "more options" leading to add a boost or bridge, about my sonos system, submit support, reset controller, or view sonos help.) When I go to login it says "Enter the account information for g***9@hotmail.com" which is nothing like my email and when I login with my account info it says, "Sign in with the account used to set up Sonos". I've never had to do this before and the guy who installed it has been gone for two years. I reset my password and tried to follow the instructions below on both my phone and my computer but there is no option that says "I don't have access to this email" on either of those. Hi all, is there a way to cast from LivexLive app on Android to your Sonos system?  I can do this easily with Spotify by simply selecting the Sonos speaker on my WiFi from within the Spotify app.  Why can’t I find this option within LiveXLive?  I am a premium subscriber to both services and using an Android (Samsung) phone.For clarification - I already have both my Spotify and LivexLive subscriptions setup within Sonos, so I can access both services that way.  It’s the casting from the music app I’d like to do.Thanks in advance,Dan

So I’m trying to configure a simple setup to connect an ATV 4K + 4K projector + Beam while keeping 4K HDR 60Hz and 5.1 audio. It isn’t proving easy!  My projector is a 4K ViewSonic x10 with S/PDIF out and 2HDMI 2.0 (HDCP 2.2 HDR10) in. My Beam has two rear L/R Play:1s.The ideal would be to have wireless sound to the Beam/Play combo but if I’m not mistaken AirPlay 2 only supports stereo not 5.1 channels so the audio signal has to come from the ATV via a splitter or another cable run from the projector. Shame Apple TV 4K has ditched including an inbuilt SPDIF output as on earlier generations of the ATV box, so one option is a 4K HDMI-audio splitter. However in UK most of these splitter boxes (approx £20 on Amazon.co.uk) only support 4K at 30Hz not 60Hz and some don’t support HDR10 etc. So this is already dropping down the image quality. The projector has an S/PDIF out, so I can use a long HDMI cable and the Sonos Beam bundled HDMI-optical connector to plug directly into the projector but

So my fiance gave me a pair of Sonos 5 speakers for Christmas, thinking they would naturally pair with our existing Sonos setup (Beam, Sub, and two 1’s in Surround Mode).  The 5’s only show up as a Stereo Pair in a different room.  How can I link these speakers with my existing setup?  I’m trying to create the most basic of 5.1 systems.

We recently purchased the Pro-Ject T1 Phono SB turntable through Sonos and were unaware we would need additional items before connecting to our existing Sonos system in the house. We currently have the sound bar and subwoofer in our main family room, and four Play Ones scattered throughout the rest of the house. The turntable will be in our front room so I’m trying to figure out what product to buy to hook this up. Should I just get a Five and have that speaker in that room or should I get the port or amp? All music in the house runs through Sonos. Help!

I’ve done a fair amount of research on this with no luck. I am looking for a DD+ or Dolby TrueHD test pattern that I can run through my ARC/Sub/ONE SL’s home theatre setup so I can review and possibly tweak some of the directional and volume levels of my setup. The TruePlay setup works fine but I would like to have more control over my environment.For instance, I would love to be able to send a white noise signal to just the Atmos speakers in the ARC so that I can determine the sweet spot for my room configuration. Another use would be to send a 20-40hz signal just to the Sub so that I can move it around and determine the best location. These features are available on dedicated A/V receivers but unfortunately not through the Sonos environment.Either way, if someone could help me in finding an audio test track that can send signals to each speaker that would be fantastic. Even better, maybe Sonos could look into providing a canned test pattern as part of their app so that a client can p

One of the consistent issues I (and many network implementors) have with Sonos equipment is dealing with the older/pre-standard STP path costs Sonos equipment presently uses (10 for Fast Ethernet vs the  commonly used 19). This is especially problematic with when multiple tiered switches are installed on a network and path cost modification isn’t practical. Unifi (Ubiquiti) based switching networks can be especially problematic in this regard. Unifi switching can be set to STP or RSTP, but path costing can’t be edited persistently. With Sonos S2 coming, are there any plans to modernize / update the spanning tree implementation to support the current STP path cost standards, or better yet, support RSTP?

Hi guysOut of curiosity.  I have a sonos surround system with one Sonos Arc , 2 Subs Gen 3 and 2 Sonos one SL as surround speakers. I wonder, is the a way to connect two additional One SL to the same system ? A few weeks ago they upgrade the S2 to connect two Subs. I did buy another Sub Gen 3 and it is amazing how the system improves with two subs. I would like to add two more SL but I think us not possible.  Will it be ??

I’ve seen a variety of topics on this but no definitive answer (there was a link on one but it comes up invalid). How can I set up SONOS in two different houses? In the second house the app wants to start all over on the new wifi. I’ve seen an answer about using Boost mode vs WiFi mode, have no idea how that’s done (link to it was not valid), and I don’t use Alexa. Just give me a clear, step by step way to have SONOS working in two separate houses, please!
