Voice control and smart home

Unfortunately just brought the Roam not realising that it was only S2 Compatible. I have £2k + of S1 parts so not going to change from S1. As I understand it the new products have a higher spec particularly memory so surely it can not be beyond Sonos ingenuity for those who need the s1 system to load products with the older system, it may not use all the memory etc but at least it works

For quite some time now my Google Home Hub can not control my connected Sonos speakers, no matter what command I give. I unlinked and link the Sonos service multiple times and all speakers appear in their correct rooms in the Google home app. Whenever I select a speaker in the app though, I don’t get any controls (think I used to?) just a screen with basic information: Sonos speaker in Google home appAlso, when I select ‘Media’ in the Google home app, my ‘kitchen display’ (the Home Hub) is the only device shown. I tried to do the voice assistant set up via the Sonos app as shown in Set up a Google Assistant device to control Sonos but instead of the option to ‘set up your google home to work with Sonos’ shown in the GIF, I only get the option to ‘Add to Sonos’ which brings up the option to set up Google assistant on my Move (which has this function built in of course). Not what I want I don’t think. I don’t want the Move responding to my Hey Google, commands, just the Home Hub, which I

I have overdrive linked in Sonos and I can play an audiobook via the app.  How do I do this using google voice assistant?

This has been asked about before but the forum threads seem old. So here it is again in case there is new information available.My Sonos 1 sometimes understands commands but mostly doesn’t. We end up shouting at it, singing at it, saying please, and then usually give up and just play spotify/radio on it by using the app instead. Sort of defeats the object. For now I have the Google Home back in it’s place so the family can all use it without stressing every time. The Sonos has been relegated to my workshop where it barely sees the light of day :(  Any help please  

Can you make old model Sonos play 5 etc work with google assist etc, can it sync with a google nest or any other options, Cheers

Hello, does anyone know if it will be possible to connect the sonos equipment to google assistant in my region (ARGENTINA)? I have an automation and home automation company and we want to implement the sonos equipment to our offer. We currently use FINDER equipment for automation, and samsung. I waited to buy Sonos until Google was integrated and invested on a Sonon One in December last year.It is crap.@Patrick Spence, your team have failed to deliver anything like what can be described as acceptable. Have they give up on the ghost? Was it just too difficult for them to work the api and integrate?Is there no experience on the team? Does creating “exciting” new thingys mean more to them that to fix a failed product?The kit does not talk to or remotely integrate with Google Speakers - something so very basic. That is what it is all about.What a total waste of money.

Just taken delivery of my new Roam and keen to get using it. If I am away from home and my usual Wi-Fi network that I use Sonos with can I use Alexa by connecting to it to my iPhone personal hotspot and use my iPhone  data plan?

About 6-8(?) weeks ago my a few of my devices dropped out of my household.  I don’t know the trigger for that.  Most of my voice capable devices suddently kept on “I can’t connect to the internet...” - the only exception was my Sonos Move.  There are also some devices that was in the household that are not discoverable (does not appear in the list if devices).  In the Voice section of my iOS app, when I go into the device list, it showed the Move and all the other devices that had been configured with voice was not shown (and when I try and add, it says all device already configured with voice).  I went to my sonos.com profile and look at my system and a lot if them was showing “offline” even though they are up and has valid IPs.  The voice capable devices had their mic enabled but I kept on getting the “can’t connect to internet error” when the wakeword is triggered.  Those devices that are showing as offline in my sonos.com:profile:system cannot playback Spotify but can play local li

Just wanted to shout out if anyone has this experience.  When a voice capable (I configure them with Google VA) device hasn’t been “spoken” to in a long time (I didn’t pay attention to what constitutes “a long time” but my hunch is around the order of 2-3 days), the first time the response will contain an audible click (very soft but nonetheless audible).  I will try and submit a diag next time this happens.  What other info can I collect if this happens again?

After 2 sessions with Apple and 3 sessions (3 hours) with Sonos Support each one sending me the other way I still can’t play my Library from my iMac to Sonos Playbar in the Lounge. It has worked ok for 5 years. Basically I get an error message when trying to load the Music Folder. They’ve checked Privacy and sharing options ad infinitum, no joyAny help greatly appreciated, I’m reasonable at Techo but not great Many Thanks Roger UK

Having trouble adding the google assistant to arc. No issues adding to move or one. the google assistant app just says “no device found” when i try to add to my arc... All devices on same wifi set up.Have already tried factory reset, unlinking and relinking sonos account to google assistant. Super frustrating as I want to use my ones as surrounds with the arc but not lose the google assistant.  any tips?

Every time I try to connect to coonect my Google and Sonos account i got the message that i have to connect my speakers to my sonos account.When checking my sonos app they are connected and i have the newest update on the app, what can I do?  

Gave google assistant a shot on my Sonos Beam - started a podcast on Spotify, which worked fine, but then if I try “Hey Google, fast forward 30 seconds” or “Hey Google, rewind 30 seconds” - I get the “sorry I don’t know what you mean” error.When I switch over to Alexa, it works perfectly fine.

i say volume 1 to my s1 but it does not go lower enough I then have to manually take the volume down

I have the BBC skill set up in Alexa and if I ask Alexa to 'play BBC Radio 2' it plays from my Echo Spot rather than the SONOS speakers that I set up as my preferred speakers in Alexa groups. If I disable the BBC app, then Alexa gives me a message saying something abut the previously enabled app is disabled do I want to enable it. To make it work I have to say 'Alexa play BBC Radio 2 in the Sitting Room'. If I say 'Alexa play Virgin Radio' (or any other radio station/music request) it plays through the SONOS speakers. I know this might be more of an Alexa question than a SONOS question but I'm asking just in case any of you SONOS experts have come across this and know a fix! Edit: I did do a search and found nothing, but now I've posted I see that this question has come up before although the answer is to do what I'm doing ie add 'in the sitting room' or 'from TuneIn' to the command, which isn't a really great solution.

Morning everyone,For a few years I’ve had a Sonos device in my kitchen, that has been monitored by a script on a Raspberry Pi.  If the Sonos is playing, it turns the amp on & sets the input etc.If someone turns the TV on, that overrules Sonos and sets the amp accordingly.This morning, Sonos was playing as usual - but the amp wasnt.A bit of digging and it looks like my Sonos had an update (now on S1 / 11.2.7) and the info that was used by my script  (http://w.x.y.z:1400/MediaRenderer/AVTransport/Control) is no longer available.I tried https to 1443 with the same path and that fails with the same UPnP 401 error.Is there somewhere else I can pull the current status from via a url or similar?Thanks 

I am trying to play music through Google assistant commands on sonos one. But it does not listen to my commands. I am using youtube music.

HiThank you very much Sonos for this.My system was working perfectly fine until last week one of my speakers (bookshelf) started acting up. Since I have a wifi extension I wondered where it was connected exactly so I decided to reset it.I boot my tablet, (android 7 working perfectly well up to then), and it says: “there is an update for sonos app”. And idiot that I am i hit “update”….it took a while to update and me wondering why …..Surprise!!.The new piece of whatever refused to add a new speaker because “android 7 is no longer supported” And I haven’t been able to find the previous version of S2 to just stick with it.So as the double idiot that I am I go and decide to buy a new tablet with android 10.And what now?Yes, I can now readd my speaker to the system.But this thing comes with something called Google Go. And you can’t delete it. You can disable it but Google play doesnt care. It’s still there and GP refuses to install “Google LLC” instead. Why is this important  you ask?Becaus

I have two Sonos Ones and set up Google Assistant through both.Google Assistant CONSTANTLY activates when we are having conversations that do not even use the word Google, when the TV is on and a character says anything vaguely resembling those words, and sometimes just randomly when there is no noise happening at all. Super over it and ready to turn it off. Anyone have this issue or any idea how to fix it? I do not have an option in my Google Home app on my phone (Pixel) to turn down the sensitivity of response and don’t know else to do.
