Voice control and smart home

I have the sonos play 1 with Alexa and wanted to use the drop in feature to call the echo dots around the house but can't seem to find this on the menu for the sonos has anyone got this working or is it not available if so will it be added to an update soon?

Sonos move does not recognise google assistantOk so I got 2 Sonos move speakers connected to the wifi with the sonos app. I also have Google assistant installed on both of them.Now recently like 4 days ago I can’t use google to play music on my sonos. Weirder yet when I open the sonos app it says I cant find both sonos devices on the network. I check both speakers were on. I tried different machines phones/tablets same result. Funny thing when I said google commands like “turn lights on/off” it still worked. But when I tried the commands “play top40” it says something along the lines: “Sonos will play top40” followed by “Cannot play”.I tried to reset the speakers (process of turning them off and on the charger pressing some button). I reconfigured/installed them. I added the speakers again and tried to install google assistant. The first try it works, but when I give the command “play top40” it says again something along the lines: “Sonos will play top40” followed by “Cannot play”. But

Dear SonosAs a Sonos user which uses your integration with google assistant I think it’s absolutely horrible that you can’t choose the volume on the assistant. It doesn’t even include a mode for the evening/night. When I’m asking the assistant or for example turning of the lights in the night, assistant just screams out loud with the last playback volume and wakes up my whole family. This basically ruins the whole experience and makes it unusable, I’m even thinking of ditching the assistant on the Sonos speakers and buying some nests instead which i think shouldn’t even be considered when already having a full Sonos system.  Please address this issue asap, or at least release a quick fix. 

I am having an issue in sending a broadcast message from my Sonos One Gen2 and from my Sonos Beam. Whenever I try to send a broadcast from Sonos I receive the error “looks like there aren’t any other speakers connected on your home network so I can’t broadcast your message.” However if I send the instruction via the phone App or via Google Hub, the broadcast works just fine and sends it to all my speakers (delayed but works). I have done the following:Google Assistant on all speakers Default speaker selected for all speakers Address set for all speakers Latest software update for all speakersI have also deleted all the voice assistants from the speakers, unlinked the Sonos account from Google. Rebooted everything and put it all back and still no luck. So working fine on Google side to send and receive but on Sonos can only receive?

I have Sonos speakers in most of the rooms in my house. I also use Nest, for instance the Nest Hello doorbell. When someone rings it, there is a notification on all speakers 'someone's at the front door'. This is great, but I want the ability to switch this notification off in certain rooms, eg. the guest rooms.I have one Nest Mini speaker in one of the rooms. It has a menu option in settings 'Notifications and digital wellbeing'. There I can switch on/off notifications and there will be no doorbell announcement. How can I do this on the Sonos speakers? 

I just found a way to integrate my Sonos beam + 2 Ikea Symphonisk speakers with all my echo devices. To do this, I need to purchase sonos connect which I got it used around $100 and compatible with sonos 2 apps. Little background about my setup. I have sonos beam + 2 surround speakers at my living room. I have echo dot v.3 devices on all other rooms. If I want to play music in every rooms through alexa command, the Livingroom will be skipped because I don't have echo device in there. To bridge between Sonos and Alexa device, I use sonos connect and echo dot that I plugged into line-in of sonos connect. Once all connected and setup, I open sonos S2 app and go to sonos connect setting and change the "autoplay" to my "Livingroom" which essentially where my sonos beam is located. Here is the detail path to change autoplay setting: Open sonos app and go to setting - system - Choose room where sonos connect is setup. In my case, I name it "media room". HiOn all of my Sonos speakers, Moves &one’s.When asking Alexa To play an audible book, she begins to play, but if I ask her to be rewind one minute or any other amount of time she says “Nothing is currently playing “I have tried the same commands on a Amazon echo and it works fine.I have tried the same commands on a Amazon echo and it works fine.this used to work fine a couple of weeks ago I was only recently in the last 3 to 4 weeks stopped This used to work fine and then It suddenly stopped working a few weeks ago.In the Sonos app I have unauthorised and re-authorised my audible account and this has made no change, I have also rebooted all of my speakers and this has made no change.if I ask Alexa to play music from either Amazon or Apple it works fine and will also fast forward or rewind the time asked. Please help!  

I have a Gen 1 Sonos One in the kitchen, and a Gen 2 Sonos 1 in the living room as part of a surround-sound set-up. For a while, the speaker closest to me would respond when I said the wake word, but increasingly, despite virtually whispering in the kitchen, the living room would start playing. I’m guessing the improvements in the Gen 2 are making it a lot more reactive! Is there any way of manually tweaking the mic sensitivity so I can ensure the right speaker responds? 

Hello, I`m a Brazilian living in Spain and I think a lot of people living in different countries will understand my point. I have Alexa controlling my hose for a long time now an I like to speak in Brazilian portuguese with my Alexa (my mother language). I think other people living abroad would like the same if your language is officially under Alexa controls.Alexa is available in portuguese for a long time and all my echo devices and even devices embedded like Samsung and others work fine using the Alexa controls in portuguese.Now I bought a Sonos ARC and by my surprise I cannot put the embedded Alexa in portuguese. I don´t understand. I understand the app and the manual in english in just a few others, but why Alexa, that is a standard service from Amazon is not available in the languages already existent in the system.And to be even more surprised, I was look some old forums and seems that there is no plan to include more languages in Sonos. Is that true? Do we have a plan or a time

Hi,I have a Sonos Play One and Philips Hue spots in the bathroom. I want to be able to autoplay a Sonos Favorite (Radio Stream) whenever the bathroom lights are switched on and of course, when lights are off the music stops.I can’t seem to find a way. I have a Hue Bridge, Google Assistants (Sonos speakers) around the house. Tried IFTTT and Yonomi with no luck.Anyone?

When I say to Alexa, “Alexa...play Miles Davis.” Alexa responds with, “Playing Miles Davis with John’s Spotify.” And then nothing …. just silence. I have disabled skills and re-enabled them; I have checked all connections; I have been sent to SONOS by Amazon - who tells me this is a Sonos issue. I am able to play music using Spotify through my SONOS system - but just not using Alexa. 

I’ve seen the support article on the available commands through the Alexa Sonos skill.  However, the command set it pretty limited.  I have some suggestions I would like to see implemented.  We have a Sonos Beam in our master bedroom...the kids’ bedrooms are right down the hall.  These would be helpful in automatically managing the device when my wife and i are watching TV at night:I have an Alexa routine to switch Night Mode on every night at 9pm.  However, there is no method to automatically switch it OFF the next morning.  I have to manually do this through the app.   The ability to control the bass level through Alexa.  I usually keep the bass level at around 8 or 9.  There’s a surprising amount of bass coming out of such a small soundbar.  I would like to be able to have the skill automatically turn down the bass and night and then back up the next morning. Others may have various reasons for wanting to control these features as well.  I’m not sure why one would create the method

I bought a sonos one (the first Sonos with voice control), but is not working. Why do you use that sentence if is not available everywhere?? Are you planning to do it available in Chile any time soon? @Sonos 

Hello friends,I’m trying to figure out an automation so that when I come home that I can have a Back to the Future 2 type greeting play through my living room speakers.I’ve Googled this idea but I can’t seem to find the answer to make it happen. I have only been able to get this to partially work using Yonomi. When I arrive at my house, I can get the greeting to play in the desired zone. However, I can’t seem to manage the volume and execution to time it just right. When I arrive at my geolocation, the Yonomi automation runs. The selected playlist then loops rather than just playing once. I’d also like to add a condition so that I have trigger a front door sensor in addition to my geolocation. My current home automation setup is a mix of HomeKit and Smartthings (web version). I have a Hoobs on the way for more Homekit integration of Kasa lights and my Sonos system. Things are pretty much in their beginning stages. I’m trying out different things but I will mostly be in an Apple ecosyst

Hi, My google home no longer recognizes my S1 sonos products (eg Connect:Amp).  In google home I click on the “+” icon (upper left) and select “Set up device” and then “Works with Google”.  Under the list of “Linked services” I do not see sonos.  I then click on the search icon any type in sonos and click on the sonos icon.  A pop up message indicating “Linking your sonos account” appears briefly and then the “Set up a device” screen appears.  When I click on “Works with Google” again, Sonos does not appear in the linked services list.  All of my software is updated.  I do not see where I can unlink my sonos account from google home.  I though unlinking and then relinking would help.Thank you in advance.  

Hi All,I have a Sonos Connect:Amp (Gen1) and an Alexa. I can use the Sonos app to play Amazon music through the app, but I don't know how to hook the Alexa up with the Sonos so that when I give the Alexa verbal commands for it to play through the Amp.Can anyone give me any pointers? The Amp comes up in the Alexa app, and I've authorised Sonos in the app, but still :S

So the sting of not being able to add my beam to a group of dots and echos is still unsettling as I have a nice soudbar that only plays TV music. Is it possible to disable the built in alexa and use the beam as a Bluetooth speaker so I can stream music from alexa all over the house. I have a group of echos/dots that as in every room except the room with the beam.  My bad for not doing better research and thinking it says alexa built in and that she would have the same functions as other alexa devices. My hatred for the beam is growing the more I find its limitations.  I am about to have to have a separate speaker downstairs just to play the same music upstairs and down at the same time and only use the beam for TV.  Not sitting well.   Is there any option to use the beam as a "dumb" speaker and connect it to a dot/echo?  Not even seeing an auction jack 

Why is Alexa follow up  mode not available on Arc?  Other Sonos products have it.

Hi , I recently bought a sonos bar, and I’m trying to play songs from YouTube music on my sonos. I have a youtube red account, and autoplay works perfectly fine on my chromecast. By autoplay, I mean when I ask google to play a song, it plays the next song automatically based on its learning & related songs.I’m trying to make this work on sonos, but unfortunately playback stops after the somg gets finished. Has anyone found a solution to this?

I have a son who loves listening to audible audiobooks via his Sonos One, but recently the ability to select a chapter or rewind a book has broken. If an audible audiobook is started via the Sonos app on a Sonos One, you can then say “Alexa, go back five minutes” or “Alexa, go to chapter two”, and everything works. If you start the audiobook by saying “Alexa, read bookname”, it just answers “Nothing is currently playing” Sonos App 12.0.4

I use Alexa and Spotify with my Sonos system and have been for a couple of years.I currently have:Sonos One (Gen 1) Move Play:1 Play:5 (Gen 2) Amazon Echo Dot (4th Generation).Playing music using Spotify or the Sonos app works as intended.I have every speaker in the same group, so whenever Alexa was asked to play it would play everywhere.On or around the 22nd of March I experienced issues with playing music on my Move using the built in Alexa. It would constantly respond with “Sorry, that device is offline” when asked to play specifically on itself. Asking Alexa to play on any other device worked fine. Both the Echo Dot and Sonos One would play music everywhere when asked.I figured I would disable and enable the Sonos skill in the Alexa app but that didn’t help. I tried the same with Spotify with no different result. I also tried removing all the speakers from the Alexa app, then ask her to discover devices in which she would respond to having found 4 devices. I would then ask Sonos Mo

I am trying to add a voice service using Amazon device and sonos app returned error due to geographic restrictions, I am currently using alexa properly on my Echo plus device, when would be available Sonos support for Colombia?

I’m unable to add Google Assistant to speakers. The S2 application initiates the process where it opens the modal in Google Assistant (iOS) where i login to my Sonos account. When doing this i’m by Sonos (in the embedded browser) prompted that there arn’t any registered speakers (they are all registered). I’ve pressed the “I’ve fixed the issue” button, but this doesn’t work, it just refreshes the page and state that there arn’t any registered speakers. I’ve managed to get the process further where the integration is visible in Google Assistant and Google Home, but it wasn’t visible or setup in the Sonos application.
