Voice control and smart home

I have a couple of Sonos devices with Alexa built-in for the Living Room, however because not all features are supported yet (drop-in, guard, communications) I also have an Echo Dot in the room too which also seems to be more reliable in terms of understanding my voice. When I ask Alexa something whilst listening to music the volume drops (ducks) on my Sonos devices so that the Echo Dot can hear me - however when the input is TV the volume doesn't duck and it can sometimes be difficult for the Echo Dot to hear me over the TV.If I have the mics turned on with the Alexa-enabled Sonos device the volume does duck, however, due to the reasons above I’d prefer to use my Echo Dot. Is there any chance Sonos can adjust the behaviour with ducking please (or at least give users the option) to support users like me?

I have set the volume of my Arc to 50% for watching TV. For music this would be way too loud, but the level of TV sound is lower somehow, so 50% is just right.However, this also influences Google Assistant - the replies are very loud as well, and what’s even worse, the microphone is ultra sensitive! Seems like this is also adjusted by the overall volume.The Arc is in my living room, and I have a Move in my kitchen. Both speakers are ~20 ft apart (including a wall), but when I am in the kitchen and try to give a command to the Move, the Arc replies :-( Sensitivity is already at -2 for the Arc, and +2 for the Move, but that doesn’t help. I know that the Assistant volume cannot be set separately, but for the Arc this would be absolutely necessary...

Como puedo controlar mi Sonos Amp por voz (Alexa), tengo un Sonos Roam integrado en el sistema. 

We keep our Sonos move outside in our backyard.  Unfortunate we've discovered that all this time we've been broadcasting from our other Google devices to the whole neighborhood because of this.How can we turn off the broadcast function on this one device without having to disable Google Assistant altogether?

Why does my Sonos one keep disconnecting?

Hey there, Just moved into a new place and am trying to add my living room setup of a playbase plus paired one surrounds to HomeKit.  However the Home app is not recognizing any of the speakers.  I tried factory resetting all three and was eventually able to see two speakers (not sure which ones) in the Home app, but still wasn’t able to add them (failed) and now they will not appear again.  Also have power cycled my phone, Apple TV hub and router. I’ve successfully added a set of stereo ones and a standalone one to HomeKit so no issue with the rest of the setup.  Would appreciate any help.

Hola,Soy propietario de 3 dispositivos Amazon Echo y 2 altavoces Sonos One (Gen 2). He intentado crear una multiestancia para que suene en los 5 altavoces la misma música de Spotify, pero no logro. Leyendo foros, veo que no es posible ya que las tecnologías son imcompatibles.Encuentro poco serio que Sonos indique que es compatible con Alexa sin especificar que es “parcialmente” compatible. Hay alguna solución o tiempo en el routemap de desarrollo para que incluyan esta compatibilidad? Up until about a month ago Alexa worked fine. Now she says “Here is your news” or “here is your flash briefing” and then silence, everything else works: smart lights, Spotify, etc. This is on both my Arc and Move. I bought an echo dot to test if it was an Amazon issue or Sonos issue and the dot works as expected (and Sonos used to) by giving the news/flash briefing. I have disabled/re-enabled the skill about 30 times, removed the speakers from the Alexa app and then added them back, removed them from my Amazon account and then added them back, did a factory reset on every 5.1 speaker and the move and then recreated the whole system. NOTHING works. I spent over 4 hours on the phone with 4 different Sonos support people only to get escalated to an engineer who said “we know it’s broken and have no ETA on when it will be fixed” which was INFURIATING. Why is Alexa marked green and working on the status page if it’s known it is broken and why did I waste well over 4 hours of my time with su

My Sonos Roam would randomly ON & OFF its Google Voice Assistant on its own, without any physical touch or App control. Does anyone else have the same issue? e.g. Your mic is back onLatest software updated. Should I contact customer support?

Hey, was just wondering how to activate the Google Assistant on the Sonos One? cant seem to get it to work it keeps failing

On this repeating topic, can someone at Sonos please explain the progress and likelihood of Apple Music working with Google Assistant? I’m still getting the message that Play 5 is not supported and surely this is something that should have been resolved by now. 

For a second day Alexa is giving the message “Sorry I’m having trouble, please try in a little while.” Done the usual turning devices off and back on, same with router. Also disabled and reenabled the skill in Alexa app. Anyone any suggestions? Thanks. 

I have 3 Sonos speakers: Kitchen, Great Room (default), and Sunroom. When I start playing music through Google Home it defaults to Great Room. Can I use Google Assistant to turn off/on one of the other speakers? I know that I can do this through the Sonos app but I’d like to be able to do it via voice.

My Alexa stopped ducking the sonos sound when I ask Alexa a question..my Sonos speakers are in a group that includes Alexa devices that previously solved the problem… but acting up again. 

Greetings,I have two Sonos-one Gen2 speakers bought from USA. I am able to set up alexa and google assistant on the speakers but the assistants are not able to play songs etc.Google assistant talks back, answers questions, tells the weather etc but it can not play/contol music. I have added You tube music in app and selected it.Youtube music and apple music play fine through the Sonos app, but somehow none of the assistant (alexa/google) is able to search and play songs!Tried changing address to USA etc, nothing changes. Is it intentionallly restricted in countries where Sonos isnt launched officially? Sad Never knew this hassle, would have bought bose instead :-(and due to my poor research I never noticed that these dont have bluetooth connectivity :-( Looking forward to some support!cheers

I use my Sonos as the default speaker with my Google Nest. Music can be controlled on the Sonos by the Google Nest, no issues. However, the Google Nest feature ‘Lower volume when listening” does not work with my Sonos. This is very annoying as I have to shout Google commands when music is playing on my Sonos speakers. Ive tried re-lnking my Sonos speakers with Google Home, I’ve update the Sonos software to the latest. Is there a fix for this ?

Sometimes even in a silent room, google will say “Sorry I dont understand”. Anyone else experience this? My other google home mini dont seem to triggered.  Once in a while this will happen 2 in the morning. Some times it says “Sorry I dont understand”

If I want voice control in my kitchen, can I pair a sonos one with a sonos SL, or do I need to use 2sonos SL'S

Hi, I just got a new Sony TV A80J and Sonos arc connected to an earc port. Every time I say, "hey google, turn on my tv," it says, "Sonos ARC switching input to TV," and nothing happens. But everything else works .. like if I say turn off the tv, it turns off if I say change input; it does. The only thing it doesn't do is turn the tv on.Also, note in the Google Home app, I name my tv "TV."Does anyone know a solution how to fix this Any help is appreciated. 

Hello all, is there any way to turn on the Alexa "bong" on my S1 Move?.It does the ducking thing but a bong would be helpful to indicate it's heard the wakeup word. 

Using Google assistant my Sonos speakers are all recognised, but I always have to give the device name - it simply doesn't work unless I use a device name.Any ideas please?

I have been trying to set up Alexa as a voice assistant but struggling to get it to show as a service in the Sonos App.  I have tried disabling and enabling the skill in Alexa as well as deleting both apps and starting again.

My Sonos Speakers are connected to my Google mini, and I used to be able to say “Hey google, save this song” when I want to save a song to my Spotify library. I used to be able to do this when I played from the S2 app, and through the mini  (Spotify Connect).It was a real nice feature because I discover new music by playing other people’s playlists, and being able to save songs this way was really convenient.However, now no matter how many I reset/unlink my Sonos/google system, I always get the response “Sorry I don’t understand.” It’s been happening for around 2 months now. Does anyone have this problem and can help me get this feature back? Thanks!

Alexa announcements generated from Alexa routines does not work on my Sonos One (2nd Gen). Although, it does work from voice activated commands.This was a previous tropic, but that topic was closed, and no resolutions were provided. So, I’m re-opening this issue and, hopefully, Sonos will respond and resolve.
