Voice control and smart home

everyone should know that Sonos voice control is absolutely terrible and does not even support YouTube Music. It’s a swindle to try to con you into buying their music service. The only one that supports voice control. I’m absolutely returning this thing immediately. It used to be illegal to false advertise in this country. when I bought this thing, I absolutely envisioned myself controlling YouTube Music with my voice using this device And was 100% convinced that that was going to be possible. but no. sonos: Very clunky and incompatible. does sound good though

Is there currently no way to play BBC radio through voice commands? Like ‘ok Sonos play BBC radio 1”? I’ve also added it to my favorites and still can’t get it to play radio 1 via voice. Like ‘ok Sonos, play my favorites’. I assume, currently there is no voice control for radio, as at the moment it plays a promo for radio 5 (random) when I ask it to play radio 1.  

Roam 2 doesnt show as alexa enabled device. Is there a fix?

Can I use Alexa with Dish

I’ve just recently installed a Sonos Arc with eArc from a Samsung TV. I’ve noticed while I am watching video from a FireStick 4K Max, occasionally (seemingly randomly), the Arc will turn on or off the microphone. I haven’t noticed this happen while watching cable TV or through other HDMI sources (blue-ray, etc).I haven’t been able to narrow down any more details around when this happens other than it seems to be randomly and only with the Firestick input. I haven’t found anything similar on searches, but has anyone else experienced similar or how to get this to stop? I’m not using Alex or any other voice services other than Sonos Voice Control.

I have a few recurring issues with google voice and my Sonos ones. Either when I ask to play a radio station the response is OK playing xxx radio station. Sorry I can’t find what you asked for.  Or sometimes when I ask to play artist name I get Sorry I can’t do that here but you can ask me to play it on one of your other devices.  And sometimes this commands work… wondering if Alexa might be more helpful? We use Google WiFi and have a WiFi point in the neighbouring room to one of the Sonos ones and I wondered if this might cause something funky to happen as I don’t think this was a problem until I upgraded the WiFi points and now have one which is voice enabled. Can anyone help? Please!

I've encountered an odd issue. Using Google assistant I've set up a routine where by when I say goodnight my lights and tv power off. The odd part is that when the earc connected tv turns off the Sonos status light turns on. (yes I have it toggled off in the app) to turn it off I have to touch either volume up or down. It's not a big deal I'm just curious if anyone else has experienced it.

I've recently set my Sonos One Gen 2 as default speaker to my Google Nest 2nd Gen, without any issues and playing music though Spotify is fine but I can't stop it by voice command, can anyones help? 

hi, i’ve recently bought an echo dot and am only just now starting to use alexa.i’ve got a group in my living room containing of 2 sonos 100, a sonos arc and a sub 3. for some reason, when telling alexa to lower the volume, she only reacts by lowering the volume on one of the speakers. even if i tell her to lower volume in the living room. i believe she might only be lowering the sound of the one she recognizes my voice on. so maybe she hasn’t really registered the living room speakers as a group even though it is a group in sonos app.greatful for any kind of help.

Sonos and Alexa! So, I have a weird issue with regards to Sonos and Alexa integration. I have Alexa setup with proper rooms, three rooms have a Sonos speaker in, and each room has them properly assigned. The Alexa in each room is configured with that Sonos speaker, but also that when you say "Alexa Play" all Alexa devices are configured to play across all three speakers. In addition the Sonos app has the three speakers used configured in a group. When you ask Alexa to play, 2/3 rooms play music, but the lounge goes not, this happens no matter which Alexa device you request to start playing from. In the Sonos app the three speakers in the group all show (they have sound bars moving) that they are playing music, but the lounge does not. If I play music from the Sonos app then all speakers play as expected. Whilst music is playing, I have tried removing and readding the Sonos speaker to the group in the Sonos app but that doesnt work. I have tried deleting the Lounge speaker from both Ale

Hello -Is there a Sonos Voice Command I can use to play from my Favorites (My Sonos) as configured in the Sonos app? 

I have been using Amazon Alexa for years to play Amazon on my Sonos. Occasionally it will play only one song and then stop. I followed advice to disconnect WiFi and then reconnect all devices. I have deleted Alexa and re-added multiple times. These things worked in the past but no luck this time around. I checked with my internet provider. I have a strong signal. Alexa responds on my Sonos one but I can’t get it to play more than one track. Please advise

Despite having the prompt chime turned on within the Alexa app on the Era 100 device. no chime sounds when the girl is prompted. This has happened only after the release of the shiny new Sonos app.

A couple of weeks back, our TV or spectrum or Sonos has started narrating every click of the remotes associated with our TV.  Example:  If I Click the volume up it narrates that I am clicking the volume up. I’m not sure what device is doing this…. But it’s driving me insane. Can anyone give any advice?

I can’t seem to install Sonos Voice Control in my Beam Gen 1.  It keeps on saying: “There was a problem adding Sonos Voice Control.  Make sure your products connected to WIFI.”   Alexa is working fine though.  How do I resolve this?

Hi All.Im a noob and have 2 x play:1 speakers as surrounds to my beam gen1. How do i enable voice control and Alexa on the beam? When i try through the app it just gives me instructions on using a 3rd parry alexa instead of the beam itself? Does it support standalone voice assistant. If not, what is 'voice control'.. is that supported im a little confused if im honest.

Hello,I have the following problem with one of my Sonos One Gen 2. I am not able to fully connect the Alexa Voice feature to the Sonos One. After going through the connection processSetup → Voice Assistant → add → Amazon AlexaEverything seems fine. I am able to play music via voice commands, but The player does not appear in list of Alexa enabled devices in the Alexa app The new player shows up, when trying to play music via the Alexa app but the attempt then results in the answer (Ich habe Schwierigkeiten die Musik abzuspielen) I am experiencing problems to play the musicI only have this problem with one of my speakers. I tried already to delete all the Alexa voice services in the Sonos app. Then deleted the Alexa skill and deleted all the Sonos devices in the Alexa app. Then remove the problematic player from Sonos and set everything up again. Why does Alexa not connect me to TuneIn stations any more or accept commands to turn off Spotify.  The whole experience seems to have gone to pot.  

I can’t seem to make this work. Amazon Alexa fights me and won’t work on both the home and shop system.The shop system was my first system. Everything works great at my shop. I can use Alexa to play music from my Apple Music account without issue.The new Sonos speaker at my Home has the Alexa skill but it won’t play from my Apple Music.What is the correct way to set up two sonos speakers, one each in different physical locations on different WiFi networks with both capable of using Alexa to access the same Apple Music account?
