Ryan S or anyone who works at Sonos, its inconvenient to have to say “switch to tv” every time we want the Beam to play tv sound. Since the soundbar is first and foremost for Tv, can you default the Beam to automatically switch itself back to Tv mode after playing music? That would create a more seamless experience

As smart TVs are increasingly connected to Sonos, does Sonos have plans to develop an app for such TVs? If not all commande features, it would be great to leverage the family TV (or restaurant/ bar TV for that matter) to display at least the current track (jacket when available) as well as the playlist. I’m ready to trade Deezer/Spotify + Sonos for Google Play Music, but the Sonos team could consider a dangerous leapfrog in terms of visual experience. A smart TV app would also publicize the Sonos sound superiority in public places where sound and smart TVs coexist. (Apologies for not posting in the appropriate topic) ??

Hi, I have been spending a lot of time trying to create a simple and easy way to get IFTTT integration working. I know a few people would really like to have an easy way to get that, so here is one solution (the best, in my opinion, of course): http://www.bronos.net/ It is basically the combination of a locally hosted machine (preferably a raspberry pi), which connects to a public broker server on the internet and waits for commands that you issue from IFTTT. To achieve this previously, you needed very tedious "hacks" using dropbox and various python scripts, or my HTTP API but dealing with port forwards, dynamic DNS hostnames and even your own SSL certificates. With this you flash an SD-card with everything pre-installed, visit the local website to get knowledge about which will be your unique, public URL endpoint, and use that in your IFTTT webhooks. My new sonos one with alexa has no Alexa function. Went through all the back and forth set up with both app's. The speaker hears when I say Alexa and that's it. Never get a voice back saying ok or anything. Please help. Very disappointed.

Have recently set up Alexa with Sonos and it works OK, but if I ask Alexa to play an album (play album name, by band and where I want it played), it just plays (queues) the first song in the Album. None of the other songs in the album appear in the queue on the Sonos app. Do I need to word the question to Alexa in another format?

Hello, I have 2 Echo Dots that work fine on their own. I have a Sonos surround system downstairs, Play 1 upstairs. I've connected everything with the Alexa skill for Sonos. I've eliminated any naming conflicts. Using Amazon Unlimited works flawlessly for me, pushing the music to the Sonos room of my choice. However, using Tunein is another story. If I play tunein on the Echo Dot without pushing it to Sonos, it works fine (I listen to Tunein on the Echo Dot every day). When I try to play Tunein on one of the Sonos rooms, it says it's doing it, but no sound ever comes out of the speakers. As I said, Amazon Unlimited comes out of the Sonos speakers from the Echo Dot just fine, so the Alexa to Sonos connection is fine. This issue is limited to Tunein. All stations I try. Both of my Sonos room setups. Both Echo Dots being used as the source. Anyone have any idea how to get Tunein to work properly like Amazon Unlimited is working? I'd love to be listening to these radio stations

Loving the Alexa controlled TV on/off, but the only thing I still need my TV remote for is to change the HDMI source. Is there any way to do this via voice control, and if not is it being worked on?

If-This-Then-That (IFTTT) integration could be cool. You could expose playlists to IFTTT as either triggers and/or actions. Use cases could be when a certain playlist is started trigger lights (via WeMo or Hue). So for lighting, a "Dinner" playlist could set a particular light pattern via Hue, or turn off some lights and dim others. You could also start a playlist when motion is detected via a WeMo motion detector, or when a switch is turned on, start a playlist. You could use a special playlist to provide a house-wide audio notifier of new emails, Facebook/Twitter/app.net mentions, or Google Calendar events.

Hi all. Tom B an excellent support guy from Sonos suggested I post this here as he knows the tech guys keep an eye on the forums for ideas and problems. I suggested to him that as I live in a townhouse and have speakers throughout we cannot here our door bell while music is on through our system. So.............I would like to see a Sonos doorbell that feeds through the speakers when someone presses it, perhaps loweting the volume a little as it does so that the bell is obvious over the underlying music. Do you want when you get home (location aware), a specific music (list/radio) automatically play + a light scenario on? Of course you want... Great news: 0 costs and it can be done easily. Maybe a lot of you already have Sonos + Philips Hue... And we know that Sonos does not work yet with Apple Homekit... Boom!...just install Yonomi app or Gideon app and all above it can be achieved centralized without any further hardware. You don't find this solution over the internet (in this moment). You just to be lucky to discover it. I was lucky yesterday, I am very happy with it and I wanted to share with you... By the way, a smart plug (for thermostat, non-smart lights, etc.) that you wish to work with above apps is Belkin Wemo. Minim system requirements: a smartphone, almost any Sonos device, Philips Hue device. Optional -> Belkin Wemo smart plug. Have a nice life 🙂.

I know there are a few ways to link up IFTTT with songs using servers and raspberry pi's etc but realistically if SONOS just linked with IFTTT it would make this a lot simpler? And would bring an awesome smart speaker system in to the smart home world.

I was doing a little research on Sonos and Amazon Echo integration. Most of the articles talk about how Sonos will support Alexa in 2017. That the integration will be impressive and the two services will work seamlessly. The thing is, I've already found two ways to get Sonos working with Alexa right now. IFTTT; If This Then That: Offers users a way to integrate various web based services together in really dynamic ways. Put simply can create simple recipes made of two ingredients. A) The Trigger 😎 The Action. For example; if it rains, text me a message that's raining outside. I saw a few recipes on IFTTT for controlling sonos, but there is one major issue with IFTTT at this time. If I use Alexa to send a command via IFTTT it can take quite a while to arrive on the other end. First Alexa interprets my voice command, then it gets sent to IFTTT's servers, IFTTT then tells the desired service to activate. This can take a lot longer than you might expect. The other option

Headspace is now supported on Sonos with Alexa but I am experiencing a bug where when I finish a meditation from a pack, it doesn't mark it as completed in the Headspace app. So the next day, it will play the same meditation again instead of the next one in the pack. I have to open the Headspace app and forward to the next one. Anybody else is experiencing this issue? I got in touch with Headspace support and they told me it was probably a problem with Sonos.

Are there any Keyless Doorlocks on the market yet that are compatible with Sonos & the Sonos app?

Am I alone with the iPort Xpress? I've rubbish battery life and there is no visible support! Using the voucher for my CR100's I got one of these to try. I've never had anything like the suggested 3 months battery life, not even a full 24 hours from a full charge. It frequently loses connection despite me using commercial grade Meraki access points throughout the house. It was to be the hardware 'pause' button for my office, a quick method of stopping Sonos if the phone rings but is unusable for such function with the frequent dropouts. iPort Support is non existent and Sonos support, despite being the retailer, just point me in their direction. Someone tell me its just unlucky and their iPort lasts ages on a charge. (Don't get me started on £100 for it, if it was my cash I'd be gutted as the unit feels like a cheap £30 item)

I have a sonos one, set up perfectly the first time then we had a WiFi account change and now will speak and say playing through Spotify or tune in radio but no sound come out??? I have re set speaker and still the same any help really greatful. I can play music manually through Spotify but not by voice.

I have 10 Sonos rooms in my home. I have multiple people living in my home. My daughter is the heaviest user of Alexa. With the Sonos skill enabled, every time she activates Alexa, all the active Sonos speakers go mute. I have found that I sometimes can not listen to a single song without 8 interruptions while listening on the other side of the house. Ever try watching a show while your child is listening to a different song via Alexa every 30 seconds? I understand there is no correlation between the Alexa device (Echo Dot) and the room it is located in. As a result, all the speakers go mute in the whole house. However, with the Sonos device that have Alexa built-in, why wouldn't it just mute these devices? Why does it still have to mute the entire house. I have invested heavily in Sonos over the years and have 17 Sonos devices. I am hesitant to invest in the 'latest' devices like Sonos One or Beam if they will cause a poor user experience. I have the beam and connected Fire Stick to my TCL TV. I updated the CEC on TV to recognize the Fire Stick, but I am unable to control Fire Stick with Alexa voice commands. I have Alexa app updated to my device (Sonos Beam). Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong. I believe controlling Fire Stick is doable through Alexa and the beam.

Hi Guys, I use Sonos for some years now and I'm very happy with them. Play:1's in some rooms (kitchen, hobby room, etc.) and a full surround setup in the living room (Playbar, Sub and two Play:1's). Using Echo dot and Alexa, the Sonos One seemed the perfect new investment. And so I pre-ordered a Play One and it arrived yesterday. Starting with using just one Play One as a separate speaker with Alexa was no problem, works perfectly (except Spotify, but that is a known issue). Just like using my Echo Dot. Pairing that Play One with one of my existing Play:1 speakers as a stereo pair, no go. So I went and bought me an extra Play One (yeah why not Sonos, you're welcome...). Pairing these two Play One's as a stereo pair worked fine, but Alexa was kind of confused when I ask something. Seemed like both speakers tried to listen and answer or something like that. So I unpaired them, removed Alexa from one of the One's and paired them up again and that seemed to do the trick

Hi, As part of trying to resolve issues I was having getting Alexa to play my flash briefing, I de-registered all my Sonos devices with Amazon. Unfortunately, Alexa now can't "discover" the devices with the Sonos smart home skill. I get the helpful message "There was an error discovering your devices". I've tried: - disabling/enabling the Sonos skill. - re-installing the Alexa app. - cycling the power on all sonos devices. Nothing works, my devices cannot be discovered and I can't control anything with Alexa. Control of the speakers through the Sonos app works as normal. Any help to get everything working would be much appreciated. Thanks!

We purchases an Echo about a year ago and it now sits about 10 feet from my new Sonos Beam. When I setup the Beam I didn't setup it up to use voice commands over the fear of having both devices responding to the same commands and it works fine but now I'm wondering if there's a way to have both devices work independently in the same room? I would like the Sonos to control my TV and my Echo to do everything else. Can this be done?

Simple question hopefully have a simple answer. I've been using Alexa with Sonos since the day it was released, previously if I start playing a playlist from the iPhone App, whether it be music from my NAS, or an Apple music playlist ... if I then say "Alexa pause music on kitchen", it pauses, but if I then say "Alexa resume music on kitchen", it starts playing either the last music requested through Alexa rather than resuming the actual last music being played. OR sometimes says, "Here's a station you might like from Amazon Music ... blah blah blah" .... This ISN'T how it used to work ... it's stopped at some point in the few months. Any ideas anyone ?

Good day, I wish to know if I will be able to do the following, it will decide whether I purchase this product or not. My wife and I have an Apple Music Family subscription, therefore, I want to know whether we would be able to simply say to Alexa, 'Alexa, play x Playlist from x account'. If I ahve to into an app and change the user each time, it's not worth the expense. Is this possible?
