Voice control and smart home

I have a Sonos One and Sonos Arc, both with Google Assistant set up on themPrior to about a few months ago, I could ask Google on either Sonos system “What’s in the news?” and it would play my chosen news source (WSJ)Now, when I ask Google on either Sonos Device, it says “Sure now playing the news!” as expected, but immediately jumps to “That’s all for now” without playing the news audio in between.This implies the command is being received and parsed, but something is wrong with receiving the audio stream for the news itself.Why this is a Sonos problem and not a Google Problem:I also have a Google Nest Audio on the same network, that when I ask it the above, will properly play the news.This confirms its not a home network issue, and not a Google issue, as the Google Assistant on this device as well as my iPhone can properly perform this task.How do I fix this problem?

Trying to connect Amp to Apple HomeKit. HomeKit no longer allows you to add an accessory that isn’t discoverable. It use to give you a list of gives compatible devices where you would find the Sonos products. You now need a manufacturer “Setup Code”. What is this code for Sonos and where can I find it?  

How do I get the chime active on my Move when using google assistant, once I wake it up saying ‘ hey google’ thanks 

I have a Spotify Premium family plan and have multiple Spotify accounts linked to Sonos. I also have Google Assistant linked to each of those accounts and Voice Match set up. It all works fine except for my wife; every time she asks the Sonos speaker to play music, the speaker responds saying something like “got it, playing blah blah blah on Spotify” and then: Sorry, it looks like Spotify Premium isn’t currently available. Please try again later. This does NOT occur with Google speakers in the home. When she asks the Sonos speaker “who am I” it tells her her name just fine, so I know Voice Match is working. And I can ask it myself to play music without a problem.I’ve tried:factory reset speaker unlink and re-link Spotify from Sonos unlink the Sonos speaker from Google and re-link it remove Google and Sonos permissions from Spotify in the web UI and relinking everything doing all of the above but with an Android device instead of iOS checking to make sure there’s only one Google Home ch

Just tried uninstalling Amazon shopping app and then Amazon voice control works.

When playing BBC stations via Alexa on my Era 100 it now doesn’t respond to the stop voice command only via the top button. It also sometimes won’t start a radio station at all via an Alexa voice command. This has started over the last week. Other than the bellowing voice confirmations it worked fine before. 

Alexa is not available in my country in sonos what to do? It used to work now no response

My Sonos beam works though the app and always used to work with Alexa but since the last update, Alexa cant play music. Alexa answers my questions perfectly well and finds music on Amazon but then is totally silent. I say “Alexa play Virgin Radio” and Alexa responds saying “playing Virgin Radio from News Broadcasting” and then its toy=tally silent! Same with any radio station or Amazon Music.Any ideas, anyone?

Anyone else having Alexa issues after the firmware update to 16.3.3 (build 80156190)? I can’t get Alexa to stream music from any of my voice controlled speakers. I am having to use the app to start the music.

I followed all the destructions without any result.I have a Beam and two Ones.Prior to adding the beam, the Ones were paired with voice asst active on both Ones.After grouping them, NONE of the mic buttons will respond to touch, even when separated.Factory reset twice...Power cycled the Beam numerous times.Any ideas?Moderator edit: removed picture with serial numbers

Hi Community,Any a suggestions? When I try to enable Voice Control on my Arc (connect via ethernet), I get the following error: "There was a problem starting Sonos Voice Control. Make sure your mobile device is connected to Wi-Fi." My phone (Pixel 7 Pro) is definitely connected to WiFi on the same network as the Arc. I've rebooted it, still the same.I did enable VC briefly when the feature became available, but subsequently disabled it.Any advice gratefully received,Andy

The latest Sonos App Update has removed my Google Assistant.I have tried deleting unlinking Sonos Beam and re-adding it.   When trying to add Google Assistant to Sonos Beam, Google Assistant looks for Devices.  Most times it does not find any device, occasionally it finds the Sonos Beam and then fails to add Google Assistant!  Going round in circles!   Help please!!The Sonos App Info is Build 80.03.06-release+20240613.b0fbafe42 (and has the latest update). I can confirm the Google Assistant has access to my Sonos Account.I can confirm that the Sonos Firmware is up to date.I can confirm that both Sonos and Google Assistant are on the same Network and the Network is stable. The Sonos Beam works with the TV and it works with third party music App and Google Assistant worked perfectly before the major Sonos App update.  I have unlinked the Sonos Beam from Google Assistant and re-linked it.  Currently get message via G Assitant that says 'No Device Found';  occasionally G Assistant finds th

I’ve purchased a Sonos Roam 2 - love the device, but getting it set up has been an utter pain. I’ve managed to get through the setup eventually, but the one item I can never get working is the addition of any voice control system. Every time I try to add one, the Sonos App goes into a long pause, and eventually tells me to make sure my mobile device is connected to WiFi.I can confirm my app is the latest version, my phone is connected to the same wifi on the same freq as the Roam, and that the Roam has good signal. Even trying to link via Google Home does not work.Anyone got any ideas on how I can get this to function? I’ve rebooted the speaker and the phone, still can’t get anything to work.

I have setup my roam 2 and have been unable to get it to link to the alexa account. I have tried ensuring address is up to date and correct. Remove both programs and re-add with no luck. It just spins like it it trying to add. Also have disabled skill and re-add.Note Sonos voice will setup just fine, but want to use the system I already have throughout the house.I let it sit for even 15 minutes with no change. Any help is greatful. 

Had some issues with our speakers/system. Reset everything and.now I can’t get my symfonisk bookshelf speakers in the kids rooms to work with their echo dots. The Alexa app says the speakers are not compatible and cannot play all audio.  They had previously worked perfectly. Any one else run into this?

I’m using google assistant on my Arc. Often the microphone will activate by itself and the LED on the arc will light up except I haven’t said “hey google” or “okay google” and nothing resembling these words have been spoken.I’ve tried reinstalling Google voice assistant and even tried moving the soundbar away from the TV as this had been suggested at some point. This has been an issue ever since I bought the unit November 2022

Hi, whenever I request that Alexa play song through my Sonos system, it will play through the 2 One SL‘s set up as a speaker pair, but not through the sub. They are all paired as a system through the Sonos app. If I Airplay or use the Sonos app it works as intended but only when I request through Alexa does the sub not play. The 2 One SL’s play as the stereo pair but nothing comes from the sub. What could it be??

I recently changed broadband provider, since when the voice control on my Sonos 1 does not fully respond to commands. Eg if I ask it, via Alexa, to play Radio 4 is says ' playing Radio 4' but nothing happens. Advice please

Hi guys,I have no idea how to fix my problem.I use Sonos voice control to play/pause/change my music and control the volume.I have 3x Era 100: 1 in the living room (ground floor), 1 in the kitchen (ground floor), and 1 in the bathroom (upstairs, besides my children’s rooms).Sometimes, I ask Sonos to play music e.g. only in the kitchen. For a weird reason, Sonos has decided that it will answer my vocal commands on the speaker that is upstairs.For another weird reason, Sonos has also decided that it will answer me super loudly on this speaker.This leads to very uncomfortable moments, where I am in the kitchen and ask for some music and Sonos yells from the bathroom upstairs (“SORRY, I CAN’T FIND THAT”, or “SURE!”, or “HERE IS NORAH JONES FROM SPOTIFY”), which is very displeasing as it sometimes wakes up my young children.Thank you!TL;DR: I use Sonos voice control mainly in the kitchen. The Google assistant has started to say that it has problems connecting to the internet. Sometimes it works after some retries.I’ve tried to reconnect the sonos one to the wifi multiple times and I’ve also restarted the router which is located just a couple of meters away (wifi). A month of two ago this was never a problem so I don’t understand where it came from. Anyone know if there’s anything that can be done?
