Sorry... So I've got a Sonos 1 since 2018...it was all set up for Alexa and Spotify so I only had to ask Alexa for a song  and it would find it on Spotify and play it. About a year ago it was not used for a few months. It was not connected to the mains.

I've connected it up again got the Alexa working but when I ask for a song on Spotify it says  enable the skill on alexa app then ask me to look for new devices.

I'm pretty handy with stuff like this but I've hit a brick wall... Tried everything last night but no joy

Have you checked for updates?  Can you open the Sonos App>Settings>General Settings>Voice Assistants>Amazon Alexa and ensure that your Sonos 1 is shown as Enabled.

I've given up I've tried EVERYTHING.

Did that include

  • Disabling and Enabling the Sonos skill within the Alexa App
  • Checking that you are using the correct Amazon account in the Sonos App
  • The same Spotify Account is listed as a Music Service in your Sonos App
  • Can you confirm that you checked that the device is shown as Enabled as per my previous post?
