I’ve noticed that the Sonos app can show when my Sonos Ace headphones are connected to my Beam soundbar. However, this connection status doesn’t seem to be exposed in the Sonos API, which would make it usable in Home Assistant or other integrations.
If the app can already report features like night mode, speech enhancement, and surround state, I don’t see why the API couldn’t treat the Ace connection as a sensor. Similar to how battery devices report their battery status, the Beam could report “Ace connected” or “Ace disconnected.”
This would be useful for automations, such as adjusting playback zones or sending notifications based on the headphones' status. Are there any plans to expose this data in the API, or has this feature already been considered?
