Hi all. I’ve got an LG G2 77” coming along with the Arc, Sub and two One SLs for surround. I posted about the rear speaker placement and learned they’re best positioned at ear level slightly behind the listener (but in my case at the sides because the couch is against the wall).I will use either the Sonos stands or the Sanus wall mounts with the One SLs. Thread here with recommendations: https://en.community.sonos.com/home-theater-228993/arc-5-1-2-or-5-2-2-rear-speakers-with-back-against-the-wall-6876479Next, there’s lots of discussion around whether to mount the Arc on the wall or laying it on a console, and height. Good discussion here: https://en.community.sonos.com/setting-up-sonos-228990/arc-placement-6852427Someone posted that ideally all atmos speakers are equally at ear level about 39.5” off the floor and that you should mount the arc at least 4-5” below the TV for the upfiring speakers to work. That would put the bottom of the TV at aorund 45” and the top at 83.5” with eye lev
I was forced to change internet providers and received a new router. My ONE connects just fine, but the Play:3 says it cannot connect to the WiFi, and that I should check the password. Now I know that Play:3 doesn't work on 5GHz, so I set up a band steering rule in my router, forcing it to connect to the Play:3 on 2.4GHz. I even did the same for the ONE and my phone (at least temporarily) to make 100% sure everything will be on the same network/frequency during set-up. To no avail. My old router was also set to hybrid 2.5/5GHz and the Sonos products worked without issue. Am at my wits' end here. I'd really like to avoid operating separate 2.4 and 5GHz networks.
hi, i have a beam soundbar 2. with the sub mini is the difference noticeable? also improves the soundbar?
Hi Sonos communityI have a bunch of Sonos products and like most responsible home owners I suddenly got an interest to get my energy consumption under control.Using a electricity meter (a dedicated power meter, not a smart plug) I find that my Sonos speakers consume roughly 15W (S1), 18W (S3) and 20W (S5). It is a lot higher than mentioned on https://support.sonos.com/s/article/256 but when I look more careful (in Home Assistant) the devices are in "paused" state, not "idle"... Hm, perhaps that is my problem. The same article as above explains how/when the devices turn into "idle" (and reach the advertised low energy consumption state) but regardless of what I do I can't observe that ever happening. None of the devices are playing anything, I wait for 3 minutes but nothing happens... I wait for 30 minutes, still nothing. I don't have any surround system which can cause a longer delay accordig to the article. When I look at the state history (in Home Assistant again) I can't see any devi
Hi everyone,So I just ordered a Sonos surround system (ARC + Sub gen 3, pair of One SLs).I have a 2017/18 Sony TV that I still love (75” Sony Z9D). Given its age it unsurprisingly only has ARC ( not eARC). So this question is mainly directed to people who have Sony TVs of this era or even other brands for that matter. The TV is rated to output Dolby Digital Plus which can in theory mean compressed Atmos. Almost all of Atmos that comes from streaming apps is via this compressed codec anyway. Lossless (or Dolby True HD Atmos) is mostly found on Blu Ray discs (which I don’t bother with). I usually use Apple TV as my streaming box (TV’s internal OS is clunky). However, Apple TV uses MAT encoding and PCM where the end result is the TV cannot take that and send it to the Sonos ARC as Atmos. Internal apps should work. Has anyone tried using something like an Nvidia shield or even a Google chrome cast Tv and get Atmos to the Sonos ARC via a Tv similar to mine?
Just bought a new LG UQ90 TV to use with my Sonos Arc.Arc and LG have latest software versions and are connected by HDMI cable to EARC port. Setup was very smooth - LG even detected it was pulled to a Sonos - and the LG remote controls volume on Sonos.BUTThen I paired the LG TV with Sony Bluetooth headphones to watch TV when wide is in bed. Pairing was simple and worked BUT when I select the Bluetooth audio output on the TV it goes to the headphones for about 3 seconds ….then immediately switches back to the HDMI (sonos)! Very frustrating. If I turn the SONOS Arc off, then this doesn’t happen and the audio output sticks to Bluetooth. It seems as though the Sonos Arc being ‘live’ on the HDMI port is ‘stealing’ the audio, regardless of which output the user chooses. If I try to turn off the SIMPLINK off (HDMI-CEC)……it turns itself back on a few seconds later if the sonos is powered on. Again if I turn the sonos Arc off, then SIMPLINK will stay off on the TV. So seems that the Arc is sendin
So during Covid. Had a Lot of time, so spent a lot of timeand money trying out different systems ranging from Jbl to Sony to Sonos to get my perfect setup.so settled on the arc with sub and 2 SL. was very happy and then the updates hit. Currently on 14.16. And boy has it gone absurdly bad. No bass. No depth no effect. I am in no way a professional. But I know how it should sound but this is pathetic. No matter how many times I have retuned or adjusted the balance. Sounds horrible. sadly I am the sucker who believe in Sonos and even bought quiete a bit of shares in the company. all waste. listing the entire setup on eBay for sale now. Fed up and done with it. good luck everyone else.
Hi! I’m trying to figure out if this setup would work or not & make a purchase accordingly. My primary goal is to have the SONOS surround experience for TV/Movie viewing as well as retaining my in ceiling speakers for music listening (or) adding the depth dimension for TV Viewing I have 4 in ceiling speakers in 2 rooms & a Sonos Amp. I plan on purchasing the ARC, 2X One SLs & a SUB. Wanting to make sure this would work: Connect 4 Ceiling Speakers to the amp (2 in parallel)- they are passive thus driving through amp Connect the 2X One SLs, SUB & ARC (Sound Bar) to the AMP (Wirelessly, I’m assuming) That way the ceiling speakers give me the depth/height, sound-bar does the job of front center/L/R and the 2X One SLs act as the surround. This setup also doubles up when I want to listen to music in either rooms through the app Trying to make sure this runs before I drop $2K on all this.
Hi allI have received my mini sub today and added it to a pair of one SL’s in my kitchen. They are at opposite ends of the room to each other approximately 19ft apart.when sitting at my dining table close to the sub all is well but when sitting away from the sub at my kitchen island bass is dramatically reduced.Would this suggest the mini sub may be too small for a 19ft x 14ft room or maybe down to positioning.Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Jason.
Have just added a Beam Gen 2 to my LGC9 but when watching Atmos content on Netlix the Sonos App shows I’m only getting Dolby Digital 5.1. EArc turned and Atmos turned on, on the TV. Any guidance anyone can provide? Thanks in advance.
There are many occasions where I listen to audio within a tab on my Chrome browser. It would be nice to be able to capture the audio and stream it directly to Sonos. Same with YouTube.
Just updated to 14.14. The issue with Arc+Sub is not fixed. Anyone with better luck?
Hey everyone! I have owned several different Sonos products over the years, but have a couple of questions related to the Sonos in ceiling speakers and an appropriate setup in a detached garage. I have built a 36’ wide x 25’ deep detached garage and I’d like to add in ceiling speakers. I’m going to have my 65” tv in the far left bay and want full audio throughout the garage for watching movies/sports and listening to music. I purchased a Sonos Amp and 6 Sonos inceiling speakers, but is that overkill? If not, should I evenly space them in the ceiling area or is there a setup that is best recommended to cover that space considering the TV will be located on one end of the garage?
I am looking a purchasing an Amp and a pair of outdoor speakers. Given where I am the sonos out door by sonance are the same price as the B&W AM-1 which one should I purchase? The reviews on the B&W are all very good but the sonance ones have some complaints about the depth of base. Just looking to see if anyone else has looked into these types of options.
While on Android 10 I was able to at least resize the Sonos widget from 4x2 to 4x1 this stopped working on Android 12 and it still doesn't work on Android 13. So I am left with a widget that takes almost half the screen for no reason. Please provide additional widget sizes or at least allow resizing.
Hi everyone, I am looking to connect an old G&C sound deck music centre to my Sonos system. Currently I don’t have any speakers for it. I am wondering what the best/easiest way is to do it? Can I just connect a Sonos Five to the headphone jack at the front or will I need a 2 pin din to RCA adaptor to connect to a Sonos port and then speakers that way?
Here is the thing: Im planning on buying a Sonos ARC soundbar for my TV room, I will add the subwofer also, and also the ceilling speakers with an AMP, and as I have been reading, I will connect my ARC soundbar to my tv thru hdmi arc or earc, and the ARC will pair with the AMP which will have the ceilling speakers connected, right? By now everything is good, butttt I will also like to add a pair of sonos outdoor speakers, so I can hear an sports game indoors, but also outdoors, or sometimes music indoors and the game outdoors, or vice versa.. my question is: is this possible? Will the ARC soundbar be able to connect to both AMPs? Will all of these sound scenarios possible? Thanks
Can Sonos put an update so you can adjust the volume level of Arc just in the same way you can independently adjust the volume levels of the Sub and Sonos Ones (surrounds), when all four are linked in a home theatre set up. Since the new firmware update the Arc sounds more suppressed /muted.Also, it would be very useful if in a future firmware update if Sonos can add to the existing EQ treble and bass, an additional mid-range level adjustment. i.e. User adjustable treble, bass and mid-range too! This would really help those who want to tweak vocals and mid-range in music and movies like they do with bass and treble. It would be particularly useful for soundbars like the Arc, but also would be nice for other standalone speakers too. The dialogue enhancer feature is too restrictive and does not work with pure music playback (non movie) and is not a substitute for mid-range EQ level adjustment.
Sonos stopped supporting my expensive Play5 speakers only a few years after I paid for them. Will they stop supporting these new products too? They are expensive and it sucks when they become soundless Paper Weights.
Hi,I’m new to Sonos and I bought a used Sonos Play:5(gen1) hoping to connect it to my Apple TV-4k using AirPlay. Both the Sonos Play:5(gen1) and Apple TV-4k are connected to the same wifi network, but I am unable to discover the Apple TV-4k as an ‘Airplay Compatible product’ using the Sonos S1 app on my iPhone. My Apple TV doesn't present the Sonos Play:5 as one of the audio output devices either. Is there any way to pair Sonos Play:5(gen1) and Apple TV-4k? If not, what Sonos device would you recommend for streaming sound from Apple TV-4k as well as iPhones. Thanks a lot.
I have a generic turntable with rca’s and I want to play my vinyl through my Sonos system. The turntable is a stand alone component not connected to anything due to my whole house being Sonos. Correct me if I’m wrong, all I need is the Sonos Port to play it through my system, right!? Thanks in advanced!!
Hi! How do I set up the sonos arc in cieling speakers to make a surround sound in my living room? I plan on having 2 in the living room and was thinking about installing them behind the sofa? Any help would be appreciated.
Can anyone help? When my hisense tv and beam gen 2 are put on stanby mode there is no sound when the tv powers back up. You have to turn of the power and the arc is then recognised it’s quite annoying . any help much appreciated
Hi there, I want to purchase Five and the 2 Room Set with Arc. However, I’m unsure of what are the minimum TV specs required for them to work smoothly? Could anyone help me please? That will determine if I can purchase them now or wait until I buy a new TV :)Thanks!
I currently have 2 Play3 speakers a Sonos soundbar and a Sub (Gen 2) all connected to a Bridge. I want to upgrade to the Arc and 2x One SL Speakers no bridge. 2 Questions. Can I continue to use the Sub Gen2 and do I need a new wall mount?
