I have a generic turntable with rca’s and I want to play my vinyl through my Sonos system. The turntable is a stand alone component not connected to anything due to my whole house being Sonos. Correct me if I’m wrong, all I need is the Sonos Port to play it through my system, right!? Thanks in advanced!!

Any Sonos unit with line in jacks will serve and if you have any of those, the Port is not needed.

PS: what you may need is a phono preamp, if the turntable does not have that with it; Sonos line in jacks need a line level signal of the kind delivered by such a preamp.

There are two types of cartridge, MC and MM, your phono preamp needs to match the type you have or be switchable.

Some examples.

Inexpensive, MM only: https://www.crutchfield.com/p_252PBMMB/Pro-Ject-Phono-Box-MM.html

Both MM and MC: https://www.crutchfield.com/p_252PBDCB/Pro-Ject-Phono-Box-DC-Black.html
