Talk Sonos Products

My brother has an old Magnavox Grand Classic. I’m curious if there is a clever way to integrate this into the Sonos ecosystem. All I can come up with is tearing everything out of the inside and replacing with a One or maybe a Symfonisk. Is there a better way to integrate with more of the existing hardware?

Eleven months ago my Sonos Subwoofer stopped working.  After spending hours trying to fix it as well as quality time with Support I was told that the speaker had a hardware issue and was toast.  So I unplugged the woofer and put it in the closet.In the mean time Sonos then tried to sell me a new Subwoofer. Fast forward 11 months, to cleaning out my closet…Plug the Subwoofer and was alerted there was a software update and it FIXED the “junk” speaker. Why hasn't Sonos contacted all the folks with this issue to tell them there was a SW fix?How many people got rid of their “Junk” speakers and bought new ones?Sonos does not have an answer. This unacceptable in my opinion

Just starting this up again and hoping for an official reply…. im not sure what you’re paying your dev’s but from experience adding Dark Mode to an IOS app is frankly nearly as easy as typing this request… multiple threads and requests…AND ITS STILL NOT DONE. Sonos. Srsly sort this out. If not an actual reason why you’d not do it?  cue “customer is always right” etc etc…

Hi , will there be a dark mode for the Sonos ( gold ) app ??

I had to make a Beta app update today, and while majority of my system still works ok, the Connect:Amp is not.  I am not able to play anything from the amp now after today’s update (10/27/21).  Does anyone know how to either find this issue or remove the beta app so I can go back to the S2 app instead? 

I currently have 6-ish devices passing HDMI through a 4k Yamaha receiver, sound to Polk Audio speakers.  I’m considering getting rid of all of the speakers in lieu of a Sonos soundbar and sub.  I still need to be able to pass my video signals through the receiver as my Samsung does not have enough HDMI ports to support all of my devices.   Is there a way to make that work and still play audio from all of those devices through a Sonos system? If not, what are my other options?   Thanks ahead. 

Hi all,I ordered a Sonos Move on September 9th, with an estimated shipping date of October 22nd. I emailed support this week and got back a “it should ship in the next couple of weeks” reply but nothing specific for a timeline. Today I got an email from support saying that “due to high demand and inventory constraints” they wont be able to fulfill my order by its originally estimated date (last week).  Has anyone else had a similar problem? When should i expect to get my product?Drew W.

Hi guys I own an old play:3 and two ones. The ones are in the living room as stereo pair and the sonos 3 is in the kitchen. I don’t want voice control. I have an oled tv that may benefit from a soundbar. Right now I’m somewhat confused on how to expand the system. The main thing for me is being able to listen to music on Spotify but get that rich and crisp sound I sometimes hear in bars or restaurants even at low volume. Can’t describe it any better.  Should I:1. fill up my living room with sonos ones everywhere? With one sub for bass? this seems to be the closest to the setup I see in bars and restaurants  get one arc / beam and use the ones as back speakers? How would this setup perform playing music?  add a second hand play3 and a sub for bass? Maybe use the two ones as tweeters? Wouldn’t I run into legacy problems with the 3? 4. Just get two fives and use the ones elsewhere in the house (bathroom, attic)?your input is greatly appreciated         

Hi im going to purchase a Sonos arc for my LG tv 49UH661V  and I’m hesitant on getting because I’m afraid the picture and the sound will not be in sync when using the sky Q box. I have read that this is something that cannot be fixed and I also seen my brothers tv at the weekend and he has the arc and it’s not in sync with tv which makes it very frustrating and he has tried all but failed to solve.ive a Sonos sound bar for 5 years and have no problems and want to upgrade to the arc but I’m afraid to spend the money and it not to be in synccould you please let me know if my tv will have the same problem or if there is a solution many thanks 

I am currently building and have a ok-sized family room/kitchen space. The living room space is approximately 22’ wide x 18’ deep. If I add the kitchen it is 22’ wide x 36’ deep. I am trying to plan for the space. I imagine pairing my ARC and Sonos Sub with a Sonos AMP that connects to in ceiling Sonance speakers. My question is do I add 2 pairs (QTY 4) Sonance in ceiling speakers or 1 pair (QTY 2) for my living room space? I considered doing 3 pairs (QTY 6) total Sonance in ceiling speakers with the one AMP in the entire kitchen/family room space, but figured I would like to treat more as two zones (one family room 2 pairs, and one kitchen 1 pair), but I know multiple zones on one amp is not possible.  Which of the following would make more sense: For the family room (22’ wide x 18’ deep); Sonos ARC, Sonos Sub, Sonos AMP, Sonance In-ceiling 1 pair (QTY 2) --- For the kitchen; Sonos AMP, Sonance In-ceiling 1 pair (QTY 2)orFor the family room (22’ wide x 18’ deep); Sonos ARC, Sonos Sub,

I have used the Amp connected to a TV via HDMI to act as the front of a surround system, left, right and phantom center channel, sub out and support Sonos speakers as rear surrounds.With the Amp set up in this configuration, running a powered sub from the sub out port, is that sub receiving the actual decoded subwoofer channel from Dolby, basically the .1 of 5.1 or does the Amp just use its crossover to feed low frequency from the left and right channels to the sub out port as it would in a stereo set up?Likewise, is the phantom center channel derived/created from the decoded center channel of Dolby 5.1 or is it purely simulated from the left and right channels?   

We have a pair of Sonos speakers ( a One & One SL ) paired in our lounge controlled by a Amazon Echo., and am awaiting delivery of a Sonos 5 and Rega Turntable set up any day now.  Seen a pair of Sonos  Play 1 speakers for sale, they are in excellent condition, and at £120 look a good buy. Was thinking of getting them to pair up in Stereo for the kitchen, at present there is a wall mounted Amazon Echo Plus, which is not to good. I have a spare echo dot which would control the new Play 1’s. Biggest concern is that they are a few years old and i just wonder how long Sonos will support these with updates etc. Any advice appreciated

I have the Sonos 1 and at cocktail hour I bring it outside in my Tiki Hut to play music. The sound is good but I would love to have surround sound somehow. I thought that since it’s bluetooth maybe there are 3 smaller speakers I can connect wirelessly to the Sonos but there doesn’t seem to be. Each time I’ve researched the only answer seems to be is buy more Sonos 1’s but at over $200 a pop that’s not feasible. Any suggestions?ThanksBill in Florida

I have old Play 1s and want to add new Arc -- but Play 1 dont work on S2 -- will that work for surround?

Hi,I have read so many different answers so here is my question: I got the new Beam with Dolby Atmos + SUB and i wonder how to setup my PS5 with it.I have HDMI from my Samsung Q85R arc to the Sonos Beam and from my PS5 to Samsung Q85R HDMI port 1.Which settings i choose for the best sound?TV, Soundbar or AV reciever?PCM, Dolby or DTS?My second question is when i shall choose Dolby Digital+ on my Samsung Q85R audio settings it jumps back to PCM but with Dolby Atmos setting active, is that normal? /Marco

Hi,The latest update brought some significant UI bugs. When I move mouse over UI controls they disappear (see attached screenshot). It works for all controls including menu and text boxes. Items may reappear if I move mouse very slow. But it’s unpredictable. I tried to reinstall the app with no success. I must mention that I’ve been using the Windows app for quite some time and it was always working fine. I use the latest (fully updated) Windows 10. Please help.Thanks,Dmitry 

The songs master quality from TIDAL aplication downgraded when connected to Sonos speakers. The same efect appear if I connected to Sonos one speaker or to Sonos ARC + SUB + 2 Sonos one.The quality is downgraded from Master to HIFI.A year ago, I've read at the comunity forum that it going to be fix at S2, but it not heappend yet.When sonos will support TIDAL's master quality? 

While this is ahppenig with a Sonos arc, I'm pretty sure it is a tv/fire cube issue but was hoping someone !ight have an idea here:I have to unplug the supplying device's hdmi cable (fire cube tv) Everytime in order to get Dolby. When I first try to watch a movie or show, I only get PCM as an option (Dolby Digital, DTS, etc is greyed out) on my tv, but if I plug the HDMI cable going into the tv from the fire tv and replug it back in, it switches from pcm to Dolby digital. I have to do this every single time. I've already swapped that HDMI cable out. This is just using ARC. I have ordered an HDFury Arcana, but because of all the supply issues that won't be in until sometime in January. ​​​​​​Any ideas or advice is greatly appreciated

Hi,I just started using Sonos Speaker One Gen 2 than i made quick research for the Dolby atmos and so and so than i remark i need buy Sonos Beam Gen 2 or Sonos Arc products but i have a complicated problem :(As i understood Sonos Beam Gen2 or Sonos Arc doesn’t provide Dolby Atmos via AirPlay 2 so i have projection setup at my home and it’s cell mounted with no ARC Support ? as i understood i can connect my apple tv4K directly to sonos beam 2 or sonos arc than as a out to my projection hdmi ? even my projection doesn’t support ARC hdmi ?Isn’t it any solution for Wireless Dolby Atmos AirPlay 2 or something like that ?

Since installing my Beam 2 I have found that there is a slight, but annoying, delay between screen picture and voice sounds.  This didn’t happen before. Is there a cure?  Thanks for any advice you can give. John. 

Hello Sonos Community!I have a Beam GEN2 and cannot capitalize on the ATMOS capabilities since my TV only has ARC (and even that does not work properly - will not pass through).  I am resigned to upgrade the TV and while OLED would be nice, my SONOS upgrades do not leave much extra for making a splash.  Hence, I am considering the Hisense U78 LED panel as a value-for-money option and am reaching out to the community for real world compatibility with SONOS Beam.  I would love a clean solution and utilize eARC!Thanking everyone in advance.

Hi all!Yesterday I had a friend at my home. He is a true audiophile. He owns a Sonus Faber speakers with Mcintosh amp and a whole lot more really expensive equipment (DAC, cords...). But, he used to own a system 5 or 10 times cheaper so I think he knows what he is hearing/saying. I myself listened to his newest system. I went speechless. I told him numerous time: Sonos is not for critical music listening, but my 5.1 setup for movies: it can hold its own. So, yesterday he had his ears on my Playbar, rear 3’s and a SUB. First, Eric Clapton’s Layla, unplugged through Spotify. After 10 seconds, he went: “Whoa, someone killed the musicians”. I LOLed but even before I had a chance to “tweak” the sound he kindly asked me to turn it off :-) Ok, how about some movies. The plane hijacking scene of The Dark Knight Rises was our choice. Hello Everyone,We will be installing in a Museum gallery several SONOS 5 speakers. They will be above guests heads on one of the walls of the gallery and will require a secondary safety mechanism in case the mount fails.Usually, we would attach a safety cable between the speaker and the mounting surface, but I have not found a mounting point on the speaker to do this. Short of drilling a hole in the cabinet (which would void the warranty) or using some sort of super adhesive mount that could hold the weight of the speaker (might also void the warranty), I am kind of short on ideas.If anyone has experience with this, I would appreciate any and all suggestions.Thank you.
