I have an Amazon Fire TV Cube with a HDMI connection to a projector. I would like to connect my Playbar (which has an Optical Audio) but the Amazon Fire TV Cube does not have an Optical Audio connection. So from the Fire TV I would like send the video to the projector and the audio to the Playbar. Is that possible? Thanks in advance.
What happens to components that are “upgraded”? I notice people are selling them 2nd hand, but is it even possible to connect an upgraded component to a S1-system? I thought they would be rendered useless, as CR100 a few years ago.Or will they work on every other system but mine since I made the upgrade?Or will they still work, even on my own system if S1?There was a long text if I clicked “upgraded” but nothing on this as far as I could tell so I clicked cancel again.
Hi All,I have some oddities with my two setups. One is NVidia Shield 2019 connected to LG OLED B8, and then to an Arc. The other is a 4K Firestick connected an old Samsung LCD, and then to a Beam.I have a load of movies on Plex, and generally all good other then AAC 5.1 sound tracks not playing as 5.1 on the Arc; playback will only go through as 2.0 PCM. This is consitent from the Shield and also a 4k Firestick. All AC3 soundtracks are fine. DTS won’t play at all.On the Beam the AAC 5.1 plays fine as Dolby Digital 5.1 and also plays DTS as the same (transcoding).Other than convert the files from AAC to AC3, is there a way to sort this out for the Arc? I can play from the Plex app on the TV and all is ok, but the LG TV apps are clunky and slow and I’d rather avoid using them. Thanks
It’s a weird one but in the last month or so the surrounds and sub connected to my arc, keep dropping and I end up with “?” Listed in the system its ONLY the ones connected to the arc, no the ones connected to a beam. The system is near a Google WiFi mesh router and is set to connect via WiFi as opposed to SonosNet. if I reboot the speakers, they work again, if I restart the WiFi, they work again too. I have tried dhcp reservations for the arc, surrounds and sub… same issue. Arc always works fine, it’s just the surround and sub that drops. I don’t have any issues with any other WiFi devices, it’s very odd. only started a month or so back. nothing has changed, that I am aware of. diag 1981386366 any ideas.
I have a Play 5 I think it’s Gen1, never really used it and wanted to sell it, is it even worth doing so?
Hello Community, Sonos,I was wondering if other people would find it usefull that you would recognize a full album vs a single in the Artist overview.example; you see 10 items below the “artist radio and Top Tracks. it would be handy if you could navigate to the full albums by recognizing them or if they were grouped? Thanks, first time question-askerToni
I have an issue where some of my speakers appear to have lost their trueplay settings and I have to retune to get this to work, which is a real pain. Speakers aren’t being moved or reset etc - does anyone have any insight as to why this is happening? thanks
Can you listen to Sonos HD Radio over bluetooth or Airplay 2 with a Roam speaker? Do you still get the best quality or is that only when it’s part of your home system?
I am new to this so please bear with me.I have a Western Digital MyCloud EX2 Ultra hosting a Twonky Server (Version 8.5.2-5) to provide access to Pictures, Video and Music. All works fine except the Music will not play on my Sonos Play1 via the Sonos app (Version: 13.3 OS:S2) loaded on my (Android) mobile devices. The Sonos app sees the Music (Folders, Albums, Tracks) but says “an error occurred while adding tracks to the Queue (701).On the Twonky Server, the Sonos support option is OFF. This is because the text warns that the option prevents Windows Media Player running on the same machine, from sharing media. I did once set it on, but the required server restart failed (I am using a Windows 10 laptop to configure the Twonnky Server). I have also read that “The Sonos feature included in Twonky is not functionally supported. WD support Sonos using SMB”.I do not really understand what that means but have also read “I’ve activated (SMB1, SMB2, SMB3) and (NTML V1 and NTML V2) and I’m able
I just thought that I would share my experience, I am currently listening to The Marias, Cinima on Vinyl through Sonos Five paired with x2 play:1 stereo connected to a Fluance RT84. I am in Audiophile heaven. I haven't experienced nothing like this before and would like to say a simple “thank you” to Sonos for making this possible. I am experiencing new heights of listening. Thank you. Simon
Please help with what I need to purchase to add TV and play my turntable from an existing stereo system.
I’ve seen some posts here about cathedral or vaulted ceilings, but was curious if any of the experts here had any thoughts about my situation.I have a Playbar, and added a Sub and Ones to make a surround system. I’ve been pretty happy with it, but was curious about upgrading to the Arc, especially with a 15% upgrade discount. The tricky part is that the system is in an open-plan space with a curved ceiling that tops out at about 12 ½ ft. (see the attached image). Would I expect to get no Atmos effect because of the atypical ceiling shape/height?If the Atmos features won’t really work with my setup, is there a significant reason to upgrade from Playbar to Arc?
HiI have a old Sonos Bridge with 3 Sonos sonos 1 in my house in Paris => S1I would like to install a Sonos Port in my second house => S2 Do i ned to have the 2 app in my Iphone?BRJ
Hi everyone -I am looking to refine our home theater setup with a full Sonos surround sound system, and I could use a bit of advice. I’ve seen pieces of this in other threads, but hoping someone can validate my plan here before I start ordering equipment.Currently I have a BENQ TK800 projector with a Chromecast with Google TV, wired to the line-in on a Sonos Connect feeding to our vintage Macintosh stereo receiver. I want to go full surround and as wireless as possible. I also have a sentimental attachment to the Macintosh. Here’s what I am thinking:Chromecast 4k plugged into HDFury Arcana Arcana eARC → Sonos Amp Sonos Amp Speakers → Macintosh AUX inputs (stereo phantom center) Arcana HDMI → Wireless HDMI transmitter (OREI WUHD-PRO100-K ?) Wireless HDMI receiver → BENQ projector + Sonos Sub + 2x Sonos One SL for surroundsHere are my questions:First, I assume I can’t use my old Connect as any part of this and need to replace it with the Amp, right? Will this setup give me Atmos or just
I have 3 Sonos amps that are dedicated to 3 separate rooms. As of now, my speakers are hardwired to the amps. I can’t figure out how to play different musical tracks via Spotify Premium in separate rooms. I can play a track in one room or a group of rooms, but not two different tracks in two different rooms. This should be easy.
Looking to enhance recently acquired Arc with a sub.System version 13.3.2Just checking if it’s compatible
How can i listen to my own recordings saved on Google drive in my sonos?
Can the ARC upmix a Dolby 5.1 sound to use up firing speakers to create a pseudo Atmos sound? I know it will not be as defined as true Atmos but I would want the ARC to use all the available speakers for the fullest sound possible.
Hi all , hope you can help , I'm looking at buying a beam gen 2 bar , I only have sky HD , as the Sonos has 3 channels theoretically will I notice a difference in sound in the Sonos from my 2 channel Yas 306 Yamaha bar , Sonos will be connected via HDMI , Yamaha connected via optical , thanks
What are the requirements of a HDMI cable that is used to connect Sonos Arc (HDMI Port - i suggest eARC HDMI 2.1) with a Beamer (S/PDIF Port) through the Sonos optical Adapter?
I recently added 2 Symphonisk speakers as rear surrounds for my Beam 2. I placed them on the floor in upfiring position so as to reduce visibility. So far this sounds pretty good to me. Has anybody else tried this and what do you think?
Hi everyone, does someone knows if there´s a Sonance small aperture speaker? Like de VP40 but for exterior, I’ve look’ed the VP6XT but not the VP4XT. Does someone knows if those exists?
Hi - I have just ordered a new TV Philips 48OLED806.With my old Panasonic TV I have an old Yamaha soundbar which has multiple inputs - I have for example a Sky Q system and also Apple TV and bluray player. It’s currently wired so that each of these devices goes directly to the sound bar and I have to select a sound source for whatever I am watching.I am looking at BEAM2 - it appears to have only one input port?Does this mean that the sound will pass through the TV and then from the TV into the soundbar so I only need that one conneciton? If so, does this work and what do I need to watch out for there - I got the impression I have to look for something called ARC?Apologies for the silly questions but I really haven’t looked into this at all since the last time I bought a new TV about 8 years ago!
Is there a way to order a replacement grill for a Sonos Play:5 Gen 2 speaker?
Long story short, I want to connect sonos roam to a monitor, that has no speakers. Will connecting sonos roam via usb-c to 3.5mm cable work?
