Hello, it is quite appalling that you have no released even a public TestFlight of the Sonos app, for Trueplay, let alone addressed the reality it is tied to iOS/ipadOS version, more so than hardware. I am sorry that I kept up with my security updates and that your dev team cannot, despite access to dev releases etc. it’s not exactly as if you did not know version 15 was coming, let alone the iterations. I suppose the Google lawsuit captured that dev time. I am disgusted at your company and when your support tells me to use an android device, just is an absolute joke. Also, we cannot roll back formally as iOS/ipados14 is unsigned now by Apple. I have tried many of my devices and, all on the list, just pfffyttytt..,.. Thanks for actually trying in dev team. Please elaborate on a firm date for full functionality in this bait and switch. I mean come on it’s inexcusable what you’ve done and more so looking back to see it months and ago, then now again. Own your crap and fix it.
How can I listen to old recent radio shows on Sonos. I can access them on my phone from the radio station web or app but I am unable to transfer to my Sonos sound system.
This is really frustrating for the investment. Sonos needs to cease with these popup ads in the controller immediately!
I have a fairly small TV room - 12 ft x 13 ft, with 8 ft ceiling and the main seating position 10 ft from the TV. The room is fully enclosed. Also, the TV is in a built-in cabinet with the main part 51 inches wide (pictures here). That would only leave 3 inches on either side if I place the Arc there. That is lower than the 4.5 inches recommended. It is somewhat offset by the fact that the front 1” or so of the Arc would be positioned in front of the cabinet wall (you can see the lip in the cabinet picture ). I am wondering if I would be able to get the surround effect of the Arc given the cabinet and low-ish ceiling. Or would I be better off with a Beam 2?
The Apple Music App doesn't allow you to to play shuffle for all the songs/albums when you're in Sonos, like it does when you're not in Sonos. Is there a plan to change this? It's such a great feature and would really like to see Sonos incorporate that feature.
Is there a way to add a song from a currently playing station to a Sonos playlist that doesn’t stop the station from playing?
Hi, I've recently upgraded to the Sonos Beam gen 2, mostly for the Dolby Atmos, I'm thinking of upgrading my Amazon Music Unlimited to Ultra HD for the improved bit rate, will Sonos support the Dolby Atmos tracks available within this upgrade?
I have currently x 1 Sonos Play:5 (Gen 1) and three Sonos Play:1s all of which I cant use with the new software and cant paly things like BBC Sounds or Airplay. If I was to get a new Sonos IE the portable one can I use the New Software and play say BBC sounds through this and through the other older speakers?David Moderator Edit: clarified current models owned.
Wondering whether to use the upgrade program to move from a Beam (Gen 1) to a Beam (Gen 2). I’d originally been planning on getting a pair of Ikea Symfonisks to flesh-out a surround system for watching films. But I’m wondering whether the Atmos in the second-gen Beam might actually be a more efficient (and/or cost-effective) way of achieving a surround sound experience, in a relatively small room. Can anyone speak to the effectiveness of Atmos on this new Beam?
Hi, I have got Play1 and I am thinking about switching from Spotify to Apple Music, which means I would need to upgrade to a speaker, which supports Apple Music. My question is can I use the old speaker in a pair (with the one supporting Apple Music) or do both speakers need to support same streaming services in order to work in stereo? Hope I am making sense :) Thanks for the tips in advance.
RESOLVED - See first replyMy stereo pair of Sonos One has been working fairly well with the music library on my Synology DS218+ for years.Suddenly, a couple of days ago, when I tried to play a song, the Sonos app said “Access to the shared folder is denied - check the username and/or password.” See screen shot below.Troubleshooting steps taken:Re-enter login credentials Verify that smb1 is enabled on the NAS (it was, or it wouldn’t have worked previously) - see screen shot below Remove the NAS from the Sonos app and start over Re-start Sonos Re-start NAS Use IP address number instead of alphanumeric name for the NAS (even though the latter worked previously) Create new user account on NAS Try logging in via Sonos app on another device: iPad Pro running iOS 14, 2012 MacBook Pro running latest Catalina, and 2017 iMac running latest Big Sur.I’m still able to access the music library on the NAS via Synology’s mobile apps (DS Audio, DS File) using the same login credentials which previously
I’m hoping someone can solve an issue I’ve had for years. I have a Sonos Play5 and a 1 --both first gen. I like the sound, but the connectivity has always been buggy. Half the time I open the S1 app from my iphone (or wife’s pixel phone) it says it’s unavailable or it just won’t play music. Half the time it works fine. Sometimes it works fine and then stops working. It’s buggy. I wonder if it has to do with my Eero mesh wifi system. I have the main eero hub and two satellites. Could it be that the sonos (which are both in the same room, living room) connect to the main Eeero and the phones may switch if I go to a different room? Could that cause connectivity issues? Or could it be something else?Any pointer on getting this to work more reliably would be great. I’ve called sonos many times over the years and they’ve helped trouble shoot the issue -- sometimes they help, sometimes not, but regardless, a few days later it’s aways back to buggy.I’m considering getting a diffe
I saw the announcement recently of the new Dark Mode being available on the S2 App.But it’s not visible for me…I am using the Android S2 App, v13.3.2. I go into Settings > App Preferences. There’s no option called ‘Appearance’.I did a Logout/Login on the app, but that didn’t change anything. What’s going on? Is the Dark Mode only for Apple OS?
Hi there,I realise that what I’m asking may not be doable but if anyone can answer they’re likely to be here. Here goes:I live in a small house in Melbourne Australia and would love to invest in quality speakers and sound but ideally don’t want to have to buy a different set of speakers for each of my audio uses. I’m wanting to know if there’s a sonos setup that could achieve my aims. I want my speakers / setup to:connect to the tv for a home theatre experience. play music from a turntable. stream music eg spotify. AND last but not least play audio from my computer / audio interface. Ideally this would include being able to be done “live” eg using a program like Ableton where I am performing / writing music tracks on the fly.My sense is I could probably do the first three pretty easily - I would need Port / Amp or Five to be able to play the turntable. I am leaning towards getting the Sonos Arc for the TV but would be open to two Sonos One or two Sonos Five if that could work in
Hi, I noticed that the settings menu has changed for my tv setup. I used to be able to adjust music level and tv level separately for the subwoofer. On the surround audio the 2 options are there still but for subwoofer it’s one level adjustment for both which is mildly irritating! Anybody able to shed light on it? Thanks in advance
My Sonos Move previously connected to my Sony mini hifi (CMT-BX90HTR), so I could play CDs on the Sony through the Move. Now it no longer connects, and I can’t get it to re-pair. I have followed the instructions for pairing to the letter - in both the Move manual and the Sony manual. no luck - help!
While on a Samsung Galaxy S9 with Android 10 I was able to at least resize the Sonos widget to 4x1 this no longer works on a Pixel 6 with Android 12. So I am left with a widget that takes almost half the screen for no reason. Please provide additional widget sizes or at least allow resizing.
I’m in the UK and trying to return a Beam to Sonos in Poland via UPS.Sonos’s 3rd party Returns partner (ivytech) supply you with a pre-paid shipping label and customs invoice (of which you print 3 copies for UPS and attach to the parcel).I’ve attempted this twice (with a new shipping label second time) and both times, UPS have rejected it at the export scan stage, saying “clearance information required” and just returned it to me.Both times, the customs invoice * 3 have been on the package in clear Documents Enclosed wallets. The first rejection was apparently due to the pre-filled invoice having an inadequate description. Indeed, it was blank. So, when the second set of documents came from IvyTech, I amended the invoice to clearly describe the goods and added the relevant UK commodity code for export.I’m not the only one having the issue - Sonos support have been utterly useless, closing my cases when clearly not resolved, giving me a different case number each time I contact them et
I am looking for non Sonos speaker suggestions for use with the Sonos Amp. I already have a pair of the outdoor Sonance speakers in my yard connected to an Amp, and other than having to crank the volume up to 50% to be able to hear them , I am satisfied with their sound.I was looking at the in-wall / in-ceiling sets, but they are way to large for use in my kitchen. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. ThanksBob
Hi community, 3 questions:i would like to know -- if i group a pair of One SL with a Playbar (not as surrounds), will i be able to use Sonos 2 app for the group? Is the Playbar become AirPlay2 because it is grouped with One SL that are Airplay2?When it will be time to watch TV, is the pair of One SL that are always grouped will play automatically or only the Playbar will play by default? What i was told is that when one item of a group is Gen2, the entire group will play as a Gen2.Is it right? Thanks
Hello, I am wondering if I can use Sonos one sl in a 30x15x6 m2 warehouse, the construction is made from metal insulated sandwitch panels. Here we are going to open a motorcycle clothing store and I am looking for a solution for backround music. We need to be able to speak to the customers which are going to visit us but at the same time i would like to hear a nice sound :)What do you think can i get a decent result out of 6-8 Sonos one sl? Do I need also a Sonos Sub? I made a test today with a JBL Xtreme 2 which I borrowed from a friend (I hang it at 3 m height near one of the walls) but I was not impressed maybe because the space is so big and all the walls are metallic. Thank you in advance for your help. Ionut
Every single time I turn on my LG CX tv it resets to internal speakers. If I go into the TV settings and switch to ARC for audio out I get no sound. The only work around is to unplug the hdmi cable and plug it back in every single time I want to use the Beam soundbar with my CX. I can’t seem to find this exact scenario on other topics. Things I have tried:Updating TVUpdating SoundbarDisabling/Enabling EARCAdjusting Audio Group DelayAdjusting TV AutoplayAdjusting TV Dialog Sync Currently using original, provided HDMI cable from Sonos.
If I participate in the new (Oct 2021) SONOS upgrade program does that brick my old speaker that I’m upgrading or can I still use it? I’m thinking of getting a MOVE but not sure i wish to pay $400.Thanks - Mark
How does it look for streaming my TV to my stereo Sonos speaker pair? Can we get an upgrade out in the near term?
Hi guys,I am getting very little or no Atmos height effects from my Arc. The Arc is 6.5 feet from my ceiling and I'm seated at about 6+ feet away from the Arc. I have done Truplay as well. I don't even feel Atmos in the front stage as well. The Arc is seated on the TV console about 2 feet off the floor. There is nothing blocking the Arc speakers.I have tried raising the Arc from it's rear and front about an inch but I don't hear any improvement. The dealer told me to get the Arc checked out at the service centre but I doubt it's faulty. I am able to hear the pink noise from the Atmos 5.1.2 test clip but the audio is distinctly coming from the front. It does not seem to be bouncing off the ceiling.Besides that the Arc is a solid upgrade from my Klipsch Cinema 600. Any advise or help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers,Kelvin from Singapore
