I currently do not own any sono’s products, but am looking to invest in some. Here is my situation/set up. I just got a new Rega Planar 1 Plus turntable (with built in phono stage), and want to get some speakers for it.I have a fire place with book shelves on both sides. My turntable is on the right side, and I would like to get a set of speakers so I have one speaker on the left side of the fireplace and one on the right side of the fire place - so...I need 2 speakers that do not have to physically connect to one another. Both speakers can be physically plugged into the wall no problem (I have an outlet on both sides of the fireplace) but I need speakers that will sync/”talk to each other” without being physically connected. Does Sonos have any speaker sets like this? My turntable is not bluetooth enabled, so one of the speakers would have to connect directly to my turntable, and then “talk to” the other speaker not connected to the turntable. Is this possible with Sonos as well?
What does NFPA state regarding fire protection for in-ceiling speakers. Is there any mention of a fire hood or similar means in the regulation?
Good evening (20,20 here in Italy), as topic title sais , i just ordered Beam gen 2 and 2 ikea symphonics bookshelves as surround (think thusday i will get them) , as i understand i can control the system also with alexa echo dot wich i have . I will setup the system with my ipad and probably from time to time when not watching tv I will stream music trought airplay 2 (amazon music spotfy youtube). My question is if my wife when im not at home can stream music with her smarthphone trought the sonos app in her phone or she cant (she can still use the echo dot or the spotfy connect app i guess). Basicly can this system being controlled from Sonos app installed on more than one phone without need to configure the sonos speaker again ?(guess my whife should log in the sonos app with my same account)Thx in advance for the answer and sorry for my really basic english skill (not using google translator :P)
I have a Project Carbon EVO turntable connected to a pair of Sonos Fives, a pair of ones and a Beam plus a Sub but there is a slight static hissing sound very faint but audible, the turntable is connected to a Project phono box S2 and I’ve taken all the connections out then reconnected it twice, I thought it may have been a grounding issue but it’s not.any thoughts how to fix?
I’ve ripped most of my old CDs and uploaded the files to a NAS so I can play them through the Music Library on Sonos. It would be great if I could view (not play, just view) my collection on my phone when I’m away from home, for the “do I already own this?” moments in a music store, or the “I have a great piece by [some group], but I can’t remember the name” moments with friends. Has anyone come up with an easy way to view their music library offline? (I know there are third-party apps, but if I don’t have duplicate my effort with 1000+ CDs, I’d rather not!)Thanks for any ideas!
Have the bar sub and two play one’s as surrounds hooked up to a PC with a Sound Blaster X3. This setup, and one before with a PCI-E card, had worked for years. I did have trouble getting it working again with Win11 which I installed a month or two ago but got it going again within a day or two. But today, after changing inputs from its “TV” input to play some Christmas music yesterday, it isn’t outputting using the surrounds. Sonos sees the 5.1 Dolby Live input in PC app and on my phone...but still outputs only 2.1. The one exception I’ve seen is the Netflix Windows app and the Windows “test” for 5.1. Both of those will output to center and rear speakers but neither games or Netflix/YouTube/Amazon through Chrome browser, none of those work the way they were before.I’ve factory reset the speakers, reinstalled sound card software/drivers, checked everything I can think of but I’m really stuck. The fact that Netflix’s app and Windows test is working properly makes me think the issue
I’m trying to get Atmos audio output (lossy, DD+ as it is routing through a normal ARC port) but have only been able to get Dolby Digital 5.1. Hoping someone can solve the mystery for me. Here are the particulars:PS5 with 4K UHD disc (Fury, has Atmos audio track selected) PS5 into HDMI #2 (on X900F, ports 2 and 3 are high bandwidth, 3 is also ARC). Using HDMI cable that came with the Sonos Arc. HDMI #3 (ARC) to Sonos Arc (2 Sonos Ones also connected as surround sound channels). Using 4K cable - with the built-in Netflix I can get the app to display “Atmos” with this cable so I don’t think that’s the problem. PS5 audio set to Dolby Disc audio (Options menu ...) set to Bitstream...and still getting just DD 5.1. No Atmos. Any ideas? I can find any more settings to mess with.
Hi,My setup is a Sonos Amp with two passive speakers and two Sonos Ones as surround speakers. The amp is connected to a TV via HDMI ARC.I use mainly Kodi for playback but have tested also with VLC to confirm the issues I experience. Kodi is running directly on the TV (Android) and VLC on a Mac.Dolby Digital 5.1 encoded music works perfectly and sounds great, also DTS music transcoded on the fly to Dolby Digital (transcoding supported by Kodi) works great.I understand that Sonos Amp supports DTS since a few weeks now, so I decided to give direct play of DTS tracks a spin. So far I have no luck, both Kodi and VLC produce no sound when playing DTS music to the Amp without transcoding. When I play DTS files with Kodi, the Sonos app does show that I am playing DTS Surround, even if there is no sound.Does anyone have a clue what is the issue here?
I am installing SONOS Application 13.4.1 on a macOS computer running Monterey 12.1.I noticed during installation that SONOS requested permission to the computer’s Security&Privacy/Privacy/Accessibility setting, presumably, in order to control my computer.I would appreciate an explanation as to what specific control or functionality SONOS would like access to in this regard so that I can determine whether to deny / grant it access.Thank you.
Hi I have an old Play 5 speaker and a Play 3 one too.I’m using the S1 app for the 5 and the S2 app to control the 3 as i understand this is the only way to get both to work due to age.I’ve recently ripped some new cds and added onto my NAS drive (WD MyCloud) i can index them no problem on the S2 app but they do not appear on the S1 app when done so, so cannot be played on the 5. If i try to index on the S1 controller it just says to update itIs there anyway of resolving this ? So i can listen to my new purchases on the older Play 5 speaker ? 2nd questionI’m assuming that my Play 5 machine can only go as far as the S1 controller and doesnt have the capability to be run on the S2 app ? Thanks in advance Ed
i have purchased the Pro-Ject T1 Phono SB Turntable Five and want to listen to the vinyl via headphones as well.Any suggestions what amp/splitter i would need to achieve this?Any advise greatly appreciated.Thank you.
I have a ZP120 which I’d like to use with a turntable and wired KEF Q350 speakers. I believe the ZP120 will put out 55 watts per channel max. The KEF’s have a sensitivity of 87 dB and “amplifier requirements” listed at 15-120 watts. However, when discussing this with KEF support, they recommended that I have an amp closer to 80 watts per channel. I’m just wondering if anybody has either used their ZP120 with the Q350’s or has any input regarding this. Seems like the ZP120 would be fine, based on the specs of both. Thanks
Hello,Does anyone know the status of Play 3 hardware and if it is available on S2 Controller? The help article is useless, I’m not sure who wrote it but clearly a MS employee because it’s confusing and doesn’t really say anything!https://support.sonos.com/s/article/4786?language=en_US
Looking for some clarity. I have a recent Connect. (gen2, s15) I want to use it we a tablet that only runs the S1 software. I read that one can do a downgrade, but it seems as if that’s only true if you have other S1 equipment already in the system. Basically, it seems like the instructions from Sonos for the downgrade are incomplete. Sonos says do a reset, and then set up the system with S1. As far as I can tell, that does not work. From reading different sources, it seems like Sonos should say do a reset, turn on an S1 system/device, (and no S2 devices), and then add the item one is trying to downgrade to that system. Yes?
Volume down was working then just stopped. Volume up and mute works just fine. Using a TiVo remote. Tried pairing the remote again. Tried power cycling the arc and setting up the tv again.
So I really thought I had this set up figured out. Surround with Arc, Sub and 2 x Sonos One. HDMI connection to HDMI Arc from Arc to projector. HDMI connection from the Apple Tv to other HDMI port of projector. The LG HU80KSW is essentially a smart tv in a projector package. But I can’t get the wired audio connection to work? I only get audio from Airplay which sounds fine, no lag so far. Why is the Sonos Arc not using the wired Arc connection? I know projectors are theoretically not supported, but the LG HU80KSW is just a tv in another format with a normal HDMI Arc connection. I have a feeling some people on here got this to work but I’m stumped. All the right elements are in place. Any ideas on what I might be doing wrong?
Hello Just received the sonos arc. I am replacing a samsung curve ms6500 sound bar from 2016. My problem is the sonos sounds like utter garbage even compared to my ancient samsung. Theres no bass, depth, or i dunno how to explain it. It sounds tinny or metallic, empty. Does anyone know whats going on and how this supposedly unreal sound bar that cost me over 900 sounds like garbage? The only thing im hoping is its my old samsung 55un8500 tv and crappy arc one connect box or something but im not hopeful. Im 2 seconds away from returning this thing but i want it to work. I did go buy another tv , 2021lg oled c series and its coming in Tuesday so Im going to wait and see how it performs on a new tv vs a 7 year old one. Tv isnt because of sonos arc, more of an excuse. I wanted it lol. I dont have iphone and certainly not buying one as they are just as much money and lets be honest that shouldnt be a fix. Theres no true play android i assume? Thoughts or comments?
I've recently replaced my beam with an arc. Sounds awesome. The arc sits on the front of my tv stand which is aprox 46cm wide. The arc feels like it's well supported, but there is a slight gap either side. I was wondering..will this affect the sound even if the arc feels secure on the stand?
Hi all , I'm going to be trueplaying my room in the next few days , I have the beam 2 and 2 One SL surround speakers , when I use trueplay do I have the surround speaker level in the app on full or does trueplay over ride the levels in the app and I just walk around with the iPad ? Also I've been reading about one surround speaker being a different level after t.p , does that still happen or was it a bug in the past ? Thanks all
Hi, I have scoured the internet, and this forum, to find our why I can’t get my Beam to mute using my Apple TV remote. It controls the volume up and down just fine but when I press mute it mutes for half a second and then doesn’t stay muted. I have seen similar threads on this forum but they either have not answered my question or have been closed without a response. This is a second gen Sonos Beam, a third gen Apple TV 4K (the one with the new aluminum remote with mute button), and a Samsung Q80T. Thanks!
I have a Beam bar to watch movies. I have replaced my TV by a projector (beamer) Optoma EH330UST. I’m not able to get the sound in the soundbar. The projector has (2) HDMI 1.4a, 1 with MHL 2.0 . Not sure how to make it act as a HDMI ARC. Or If a HDMI splitter exist to separate the image and the sound. If you have any ideas, please send them :)
each time a new song starts, the sonos app pops up. this is very irritating
Just got a Sonos Turnable and I want to know how can make it play to all my actual sonos speaker ? I don’t have Sonos 5 . Do I need to buy port Sonos ? Amp Sonos ? Or Sonos 5 ? just want to cheapest way to make my turnable sonos play to all my actual Sonos system ?
Hi! I just recently started using the Sonos arc while I was previously using my homepods for surround sound for my AppleTV. Now when I try to add my HomePods to the audio with my Arc it creates the very echo-y sound. Is there any work around to add the HomePods as Surround Sound in the App? I found a way to work around the the echo-y sound but then it limited the soundbar sound(no dolby etc) Any help would be great! Thanks!
Hi, I am using Android 12 and i can no longer clear the playback controls notification on my phone when Sonos is not active. The only option is to force stop the Sonos app. Anyone else found this with the latest Android update. I know Sonos have said 12 is not yet officially supported. Justed wanted to feedback that this issue exists. Would be interested to know when an update for Android 12 is planned since the phones are starting to get it now. Cheers.
