Hello,I Have a “The Frame” Samsung TV, and the base / components are far away from the TV itself in a cabinet in the back of the room (NOT behind the TV or near it). As you might know the “Frame” Base station is connected to the TV by a fiber optics cable so the “brains” of the TV can be placed far from the screen. Now, I would like to be able to incporporate the sound coming out of the TV to my SONOS, so I can play it in any of the SONOS connected speakers. Any ideas as to what device I would need to connect to the TV base (that is NOT a Sound bar…?) Thank you!!!!
Charging works with the Wireless Charging Base but not with the USB C DC plug, even I’m using a 45W output
Hi,Sonos controller on Android will not show the album title when playing? It only shows The artist name twice? See picture below: This only happens when i play from my NAS disk, not from Spotify? And it also works on my windows desktopAnd it just happens here, was working fine earlier. The problem is on my OnePlus 7T Pro with Android 11 Sonos OS: S2Sonos app version: 13.4.1 Appreciate any help regarding this issue!! Edit: After a bit more research, I see that this only applies to FLAC files?
Can not get the Sony remote to run all three (TV, Cable, Sonos) components. If I disable Bluetooth, remote will run Sonos volume but will not run Spectrum Cable box. If I have Bluetooth on, remote will run Cable box but won’t run Sonos speakers. Is there a solution other than using two remotes?
I have a play bar, sub and a pair of Play1 as my surround. For some reason it no longer plays what’s on TV when external speakers are selected. This leaves me with only the TV speaker to watch a TV show or movie. How do I reconnect or re-pair the speakers with my smart TV?(If it’s important - Our TV provider is TELUS and we have an OPTIK TV box.)
For those of you who have evaluated various music services with Sonos, what are your recommendations? I’m currently considering Apple Music, Qobuz, Deezer and Amazon. My priorities are music quality (High Resolution), integration with Sonos as I plan on streaming via the Sonos app and lastly cost. FWIW, I’ll be using a pair of One SLs configured as a stereo pair on my office desk. I’d be interested to hear your thoughts after evaluating some of these services with Sonos. Thanks.
What is the latest recommendation for new TVs if I am deciding between Samsung QN90 or LG C1 for this setup …* Soundbar: Beam Gen 1* Network: S1* HDMI inputs: Roku stick, cable box * Surround: not yetIs Samsung still discouraged overall or is that just for a specific configuration of products? Is the Samsung solution still to make sure the Beam is the only CEC device?I currently use my Beam with a 2012 Samsung that only outputs PCM stereo (because 2012), but it works fine. Also - I’m not upgrading my S1 network yet because of two old connect:amps that still work great, which explains the old Beam, not the new one or the Arc.Thanks,Andy
There’s something I don’t know I believe. Would someone answer me if they know? Using iOS 15.2 Had Sonos for years - no issues generally.Signed up for Spotify, haven’t used them since maybe 2008 before Sonos. SO, I keep Hardware Volume Control toggle off- it is greyed out, not black. I don’t like having to constantly to adjust volume between phone alerts and music. All works fine with all other services on Sonos- Pandora, Apple, Sonos etc. However when I play music from Spotify service, even though my Hardware Vol control is set to off, adjusting the volume using hardware buttons on the side of the phone changes the volume!Even though in the Sonos S1 app it is turned off. If I end the Spotify, and switch to Apple for example, all is well. Buttons do not change volume settings of music. What is up with Spotify- how does it hijack SONOS settings like that??
Hi,I’m currently searching for a home theater system and the sonos approach really seems the thing I want. I’m very concerned about the microphone. I really don’t want any microphone listening to me all the time and I really don’t trust a microphone that’s on all the time. Is there a way to disable the microphone or even break it physically? This is really the only thing that’s preventing me from buying an Arc soundbar.
Hi all, I’m currently setting up my Sonos system and would appreciate your views on the best streaming apps to use. My understanding is that if you want 24-bit streaming, the options are Amazon Music Unlimited Ultra HD and Qobuz. Other services like tidal offer lossless 16-bit (CD quality). Any suggestions as to what’s the best route, including whether I’ll even be able to tell the difference between 24-bit/16-bit lossless/standard streaming? Many thanks, Justin
Not sure if this is the best place to ask, but I added a couple of Sonos Ones (Gen 1 and SL) to my Beam (Gen 1) today for surround sound with my LG C8 OLED. The Beam is connected via Arc. Built in TV’s apps only. It’s working great for most things, some movies on Netflix sounded fantastic. Tried some demos on YouTube that were good to. But it doesn’t work with Amazon Video, even though the videos I tried all state they are 5.1 in the info and Sonos app report it as being 5.1. Nothing at all from the rear L/R Ones, just the Beam. Any known issues with Amazon video or this TV? Anything I can try? Am I missing something?
I have just purchased an Arc to replace my playbar. Everything is setup and viewing Jack Ryan on Amazon Prime, the TV app shows “Dolby Digital Plus 5.1”. I spoke to support and sent a file, which on analysing they confirmed everything was correct and the Arc was working correctly. On reading other threads, they seem to suggest that I should be seeing “Dolby Atmos” rather than “Plus 5.1”I am now confused and wondering if something isn’t working.Using a Virgin V6 box, TV is an LG48CX, have Arc connected to e-Arc, V6 Box connected to HDMI in on TV. Sound set to HDMI - Arc, Advanced, set to - Sound out - HDMI Arc, Additional settings - Digital Sound out - Pass Through and eARC on.Sorry if this has been done before :)
Hi. I am having difficulties setting up my sonos beam and my new philips oled tv. I have the tv connected to beam using hdmi arc channel and have selected the audio out option as hdmi sound system, however the sound plays through both the tv speakers and the sonos beam creating an echo. I expected that it would play through the sonos only. Please could you offer some advice on how to resolve this?
El tocadiscos Pro-ject T1 phono SB no suena bien atraves del Five, muy grave y distorsionado. Además el tocadiscos tiene una aguja muy endeble.
Is there a Sonos device that i can use with my existing (passive) speakers AND add a wireless sub..?
Hello, I have lost the connection to my sonos connect via the controller software. When i launch a network scan, I can see it has an IP-address. I have resetted the controller and I tried to re-add it, It is detected, but it won’t proceed to the end of the process. It ‘s probably a software issue, is there any possibility or hidden option to hard reset it?thx!
Hey,I have been doing some research and I wanted to run things by people who know much more than I do.The basic setup, Apple TV 2021 (encoding), LG CX (pass-through), and Sonos Beam 2 (decoding).Apple TV set up to Audio Auto, LG CX set up to pass through, and Sonos Beam 2 is the thing that ought to do all the audio encoding.I wanted to make ask if I am right to think it is not currently possible to have DD+ 5.1 when using Apple TV 4K as the source. 1.It is my understanding that using pass-through on LG CX so that Sonos Beam 2 does the decoding is the only way I can get full uncompressed Atoms to my Sonos because it is the only way to Get Dolby TrueHD.If LG CX is set to Auto under digital audio out the Sonos still encodes Atoms but it is somehow not the full experience because it lacks the Dolby TrueHD.Am I correct on this?2.And this one is the rabbit hole, or so I think. It has to do with Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 vs Multichannel PCM 5.1 and 7.1.First things first, the Apple TV product pa
My kid has X-Box and PS5. Will they both play through the Sonos immersive Beam that I am going to order for my new LG TV?
Hello all! I have a Bose and some JBL speakers that I would like to include in my new Sonos set up I am ordering. Is that possible? Thank you!
my Windows 10 controller say “cannot connect to your system” then I click on from the pull down menu to “connect to an existing system” after about 2 minutes of circling, it says that “I am now connected to your system” with a check mark. When I click on “done”, it just goes back to the “cannot connect to you system page” without showing the main screen. My system works fine from my android devices.
HelloI am an owner of the old gen Play 3 and Play 5 speakers and thinking about upgrading to a home entertainment system with surround sound in my new home.Wondering what the best configuration would be for a relatively small room? Livingroom is basic rectangle shape with patio doors, dimension 5.7x3.7m approx. In the process of getting a media unit built above a fireplace so TV and sound bar would be mounted (similar to attached picture - note this is not my livingroom!). Have space for a 60-65” TV.Would my room be big enough for the complete Arc, sub woofer and 2x Sonos 1s? Or is this overkill? Also - would the Arc sound quality be compromised by mounting it as shown in the pic? Sounds like positioning is a key factor in sound quality.Apologies for the basic questions - relatively new to TV sound systems and want to optimize it as best I can
So I have the sonos Arc and decided to get the new 65" Vizio Quantum P Series TV. Read some tv re iews that showed it had great brightness and it seemed to support all audio formats via eArc (from what i saw on rtings. I'm not an audio expert, but I just wanted a good TV to hook up to my Arc and that would support whatever audio was sent to it.. Well, everything seemed to work well, but about once a week, the TV would start acting weird.. I could see the picture and sound, but the input and settings button wouldn't be responsive... when this happened, I couldn't even turn off the TV (even using the physical power button on the TV).. the only solution was to unplug the TV for about a minute and then plug it back in... This got annoying fast considering the TV plug is in the back of my entertainment stand.. I'm returning the TV and looking to get a new one.. the Vizio only cost about 1k on sale, but I'm not opposed to spending up to 2k on a tv. I wax considering the LG oled c1,
Was just totally enjoying the chill of smooth jazz and an obnoxious holiday song came on. When I tried to forward past I was notified that I had to sign up for Sonos HD. So that's the choice, horrible holiday music long after the holidays are over? No thanks
Has any one bought a Maclean floor stand for One SL speakers - for example this one hereThey seem a good deal cheaper than the better known stands but, as far as I can tell, Maclean seems to be a recognised name.
Having just bought the Beam (Gen 2), I have it all up and running connected to WiFi and able to play audio through the app like any other speaker.I'm trying to connect it to my TV to work as intended as a soundbar. I go through the couple of steps informing me to plug the HDMI into the ARC port of my TV and into the back of the soundbar, and then the next instruction is "Connecting...". From here, nothing happens. I've waited 30 minutes with no change. I've reset my app, unplugged the soundbar and reconnected it with no joy.Could anybody help me work out how to get it fixed? The TV is 6 years old, but has an ARC HDMI port so I assume I shouldn't be having any issues.
