My surround pairing with my LG SmartTV has stopped.

I have a play bar, sub and a pair of Play1 as my surround.

For some reason it no longer plays what’s on TV when external speakers are selected. This leaves me with only the TV speaker to watch a TV show or movie. How do I reconnect or re-pair the speakers with my smart TV?

(If it’s important - Our TV provider is TELUS and we have an OPTIK TV box.)

Unplug all speakers. Reboot your router. Make sure your TV audio is set to external speakers and that optical out is selected. After 30 seconds plug in your speakers starting with the Playbar. After it reconnects plug in the surrounds and then the sub. Let us know the results.

Hi AjTrek1

thanks so much for your advice.  I followed the steps you provided and in so doing, discovered that my optical cable was actually connected to my Telus TV Optik box, not my soundbar.  When I plugged it into the soundbar, everything was good again.  Thanks so much!
