I recently updated the S1 controller app on my Windows 10 64bit PC. The S1 app launches, shows the interface (including my speakers, playlist, queue), and after 2-3 or so seconds the app crashes. The older version (v. 11.24) worked just fine. I upgraded to the latest version because a dialog popped up urging me to upgrade every time I opened the app. Now I can’t seem to be able to roll back to the working version and the 11.24 version is not available for download.I spent about half an hour on the phone with Sonos Tech support and after lots of questions and diagnostics the tech support person refused to escalate my ticket to the next level. Instead, he told me it was a probably a Microsoft problem and that I should call Microsoft. There are other threads in the Sonos support universe that document the same S1 crashing problem. Has anyone out there been successful in getting a resolution from Sonos support?
Hello all! I current installed an Epson TW7000 projector (https://www.epson.co.uk/products/projectors/home-cinema/eh-tw7000#specifications) and purchased a Beam soundbar for the audio. To the projector I've got connected through HDMI a Playstation and the TV cable box.Because I've learned the hard way there is no Bluetooth built in the Beam, I'm at a loss as to how to connect the Projector to it. The Beam should be placed above the projector screen and so wires would be a bit messy.I need your help please as to how I can connect the Beam via Bluetooth to the projector... Or if that's not an option and the sound quality will be horrible, what other ways are there to make the connection work? Thanks!!
Samsung TV (2019 series8) connected to Sonos ARC via HDMI arc. The Netflix native app on TV shows ATMOS tag but it’s only Dolby digital plus 5.1 on Sonos app. When using Prime (again native app on TV) shows Atmos on Sonos app. What am I missing?Changed HDMI cable.Tried already reinstall Netflix app on TV, logout/ login in, used friends account etc no change.Reinstalled, updated Sonos app from Apple store to latest version. Removed and added arc, again no change. It’s still shows ATMOS on Netflix app on TV and 5.1 on Sonos app. It’s really frustrating, can someone help? Any suggestions? Thanks!
Is a Beam (x1) + One SL (x2) capable of true surround sound? Hello, I have the aforementioned Sonos equipment, and am not sure I am able to get true surround sound (speaker isolation). I have a Samsung TV (probably around 2015 model), and have my Beam wired with the HDMI to Optical to the TV set. My sound output on the TV indicates that it is outputting DTS Neo 2.5 (there is no way I am able to highlight the DD option, it is greyed out all of the time). I have setup the system in the Sonos app correctly, and have the surround pair setup so all 3 speakers are connected and working. I am using a surround test file on the Pirates of the Caribbean DVD. My Sonos app indicates it is receiving DD 5.1; however, when running the test and the test indicates that the only speaker that should be playing is a rear, sound is somewhat quiet from that speaker and still coming out of the front. It doesn’t appear there is any speaker isolation. I have ran the Beam directly into my DVD player (PS4) with
The difference between Sonos and Bose is generally that Sonos is the better company in terms of their software and installation, as it's very easy to build your own multiroom setup. However, Bose still has the edge on Sonos when it comes to sound quality.
So I just got the Roam yesterday for the primary use of connecting it to my projector via Bluetooth and then ‘sharing’ the sound with my existing pair of One SL. But the Roam doesn’t ‘share’ the sound to the SL, whether on WiFi or BT even though both sets of speakers have been grouped together. When on WiFi and using my Andriod Sonos App, if a song is first played on the Roam, it won’t play on the SL when it is added to the group. If the song is first played on the SL, it will play on the Roam when added to the group. (No issues with creating the group for both instances, but no sound on the SL in the first instance)When the Roam is connected via BT to my phone/projector, the sound won’t play on the SL when they are added to group. (clicking on the Group icon on the phone app shows both sets have been grouped and playing). Most of the times the SL doesn’t play when added to the group, sometimes it plays for a split second before cutting out. I’ve only managed to get it to play as a grou
I am trying to find a music system which will work in my little flat. I’ve been using Logitech Boom speakers but connecting them is clunky via the app and also unreliable; also I want to be able to play the radio without connecting my device. This is what I want to do:play my own music (not streamed music) from my phone or tablet listen to the radio (BBC) listen to BBC Sounds listen to podcasts (via Google or Spotify or suchlike)I’d like to do all the above in multiple rooms. I’m always scuttling from one to the next so would like the same sound playing on different speakers in different rooms. I’ve got a few Alexa devices but they won’t let me play my own music apart from via Bluetooth. I’m looking at Sonos One and Symfonisk speakers. Research suggests that I can play my own music (from my phone or tablet) and BBC radio via the sonos app. Is this correct? Can I play Spotify podcasts or Google podcasts (a thread from a couple of years ago suggests not)? I have an Android phone and table
Hi, I’m about to receive a Sonos Arc and wondering what the set up for Home Theatre needs to be. I currently have Sonos Amp connected to my TV witch HDMI Arc Port + 2 Sonos SL used as front speakers. When setting up Sonos Arc, I was planning to use the 2 Sonos SL as rear wireless speakers, can I? What needs to be connected to the TV, the Amp or Sonos Arc? Will I need to connect the Amp at all? Sorry for the many questions!
Hi I’ve read a lot of other posts and fixed up and tried different methods but can't get sound out from my connected surrounds using the Playbase.I have a playbase connected with an optical cable to the TV with two play 1’s and a sub gen 3.The TV is set to DD sound out and can see in the app I'm receiving DD 5.1.I've connected the Ones and Sub in the app. I get the Chimes that it's connected. When I go to play anything TV, Netflix, Spotify no sound comes out of the Ones or Sub. I can pause the Playbase though through the Ones. When I try trueplay it doesn't work as it says one of the speakers can't be found. If I disconnect and set up the sub with the ones as a group without the Playbase just to play music they work fine. This leads me to think it is something to do with the Playbase and not transferring in surround. Lastly I have done a factory reset on the Playbase and reset my router. Other issues along these lines seem to have been with the Playbase connected by ethernet. Mine is
Hi Everyone!I have two Beam immersive (surround with a beam, 2 one’s and a sub) in two different rooms. The family room and the bedroom. The bedroom sounds awesome. The family room, not so much. It has very high vaulted ceilings (probably 20ft at least) and the sound just gets lost in that space. Should I get more one’s? another sub? Maybe try a five?? To describe the issue, I would say it has less bass, less treble and even not enough direct sound coming from the center speaker (the beam). I wanted to try the Arc, but it is so long, it really doesn’t fit anywhere. Any suggestions are appreciated! Also, the lip sync gets off a lot in that same room. Thanks in advance!
Is there a limit of NAS drives that can be connected to Sonos?
Envisioned Living room set up: 2 Sonos in ceiling speakers - rear2 Sonos in wall speakers front on both sides of the TV1 Sonos Sub1 - Possibly the Arc under TVLooking to set up 5.1 with Sonos. With the ARC I know it will be 5.1.2 which is cool too. Questions: Can the above 6 speakers be powered 1 Amp? I know the 4 in-wall / in-ceiling speakers and the sub can be powered by 1 Amp but what about the ARC? Is there another speaker besides the arc to give me that 5th speaker? And if so can it powered by the sam amp. If there is no other option besides the ARC to get me that 5th speaker and can’t be connected to the same amp then what is the best way to set this up? Will the 5.1 or 5.1.2 be that much better than a 4.1 Sonos set up. (Yes I know this is subjective but would be curious on other’s opinions)
Sooooo… It’s been a few years since all the last conversations on this. Any word on a way to connect sonos to PC that isn’t super sketchy?? Im using amazon music. Yes, i can buy songs, put them on a server, bla bla blah… But as it is, i listen to hundreds of songs and don’t want to have to buy them all. Anybody come up with a workable solution yet? I can try stream what you hear… but don’t know if i trust it. I’m running windows 11 btw
I have a really nice new 65” LG OLED and I want to add some nice surround speakers to. I do not have the option to run wires so I decided to add to my Sonos collection and pick up a Beam 2. I likely would have bought an Arc if they were available right now. My question is this...should I order an Arc or should I just add two 1 SL’s to the back of my room to compliment the Beam 2 in the front of the room? I will use this setup for music sometimes but primary for watching movies.
Is the feature in the backlog?
Hi all , I'm still having an audio issue that I've posted about on the community , I just wanted to ask , I want to bypass my TV for the audio , so I currently have ....sky+ hd box to TV via HDMI Optical from sky+ HD box to beam TV speakers on zero volume I take it that even though the sky box is connected via HDMI the beam is now not connected to the TV because it's connected via optical to the sky box ?

Greetings, I could use some help or ideas on why I cannot seem to achieve Atmos delivery. Here are the specs I am working with:TV: A80JAUDIO: Sonos Beam (Gen 2) w/sub and two Play:1 surroundsMISC: Running Netflix/Disney+, etc. via the apps within GoogleTV. Also have a Sony Blu Ray Player, but this is not yet part of the equation.PROBLEM: Films marked as Atmos on Disney+ are still playing in 5.1 according to my Sonos app. I see the Atmos icon next to/under the title of relevant content. Netflix films which are listed as being available in Atmos only list 5.1 next to the title of the film.INFO:-I do have a Netflix premium sub, which should provide Atmos on content that feature this Codec. -I have flipped the Sony "Netflix Calibration" to "on" -I have used the HDMI cord that delivered with the Sonos equipment, as they suggest, and this is connected via the eArc port #3 -I have tried every sound & output setting I can think of with no success. I've just restored audio settings to the f
I have two Western Digital My Book Live NAS units installed similarly in two locations. As of several months ago, I am no longer able to index the library for both. The error message: “The [drive name] is no longer available.” On one, I deleted the music library hoping I could add it back in, and am unable to do so, displaying the same error message. On the other, I am able to run my FLAC files with no problem, but cannot index. Sonos tech support has not been able to resolve - they are still working on it. The firmware has not changed for the NAS since 2015. I’m running S2 at both locations. Because of this situation, I am looking for current year 2022 recommendations for replacement NAS units in case I have to do so.
Hi All,Can anyone recommend how to stream high quality Grateful Dead? I have SiriusXM but can’t figure out how to get the higher quality internet/app version to stream over sonos. Satellite is understandably lower quality but there is a higher quality over the internet and over the phone app. Has anyone dealt with this and have input? An altogether new GD streaming source would be great to learn of also. Any input?thanks,Dave
I am building out a home network and Sonos solution at the same time. I am planning on having a couple of amps wired via ethernet in a closet, but I also want to add one by our pool area. The SonosNet wifi definitely won’t reach there, but our home internet will, which would mean I’d need to go with a wireless setup, right? If that’s the case, will ethernet work on the ones inside the closet despite being in a wireless setup?
Bonjour, ayant reçu la nouvelle mise à jour pour le dts entre autre, je possède ps5 xbox series x et un lg c9 impossible de sortir du dts même avec un vieux DVD walt disney, cela grésille constamment Par pitié de l aide 😉
The 13.4.1 S2 update added hi-res (Ultra HD) and Dolby Atmos audio support from Amazon Music Unlimited. With this update, Sonos released this great article about hi-res audio and how you can listen to it on Sonos. It’s a very detailed and well-written article:https://blog.sonos.com/en-us/hi-res-audio-guide
How can I listen to BBC local radio when the Winter Olympics are on ?
I purchased a Sonos Roam - it did not work. I have returned it and purchased another is the hopes that the first was simply defective. How do I remove the original Roam product from my account - as I have returned it to the store.
