So Apple TV has a new remote, which now thankfully contains a Mute button. But, while the Sonos remote setup (in the Sonos iOS app) recognizes Volume Up and Volume Down, it still does not receive or recognize the Mute button on the new remote. Hopefully a software update can resolve this issue?
Hi,can anyone tell me whether Sonos has sorted the issue with Dolby digital + ?. I’ve recently bought a beam and after setup it only outputs stereo and I’ve read a lot of issues about this over the last couple of days, although my Samsung ru8000 65” allows Dolby digital +. Is it worth me sending the beam back and getting an arc or will it make no difference ?
Hi,I’m investing in Sonos environment and I will buy soon a Sonos amp to power some in-ceiling speakers and I was wondering whether I could “recycle” and integrate in my Sonos environment one speaker I bought years ago which has an amazing sound. It is a Geneva Lab model M speaker which is basically as powered speaker with a dock for iphone on the top, a radio tuner inside and also a Line-In 3.5mm plug at the back. Here’s an idea of the Geneva Speaker, this link is for the S model which basically the same but without the Iphone dock on the the top:https://appleinsider.com/articles/13/08/31/review-geneva-lab-model-s-wireless-speaker Do you think I could connect the Sonos amp to the Line-In of my Geneva speaker in order to stream music to all my Sonos speakers but also the the Geneva speaker?I that’s possible, what sort of materials/accessories is required to connect both? Many thanks in advance for your advice!
For some reasons the Local radio are in the wrong city. It is et for Ottawa and I live in Montreal. How can I change that? Gerard
Hello everybody, So in my house I have a couple of Sonos Beam’s (attached to bedroom tv’s) a FIVE and then I have a surround setup as follows in the living room; ARC, Sub Gen 3 and 2x One SL. All of them are connected to my UniFi network (WiFi, no cables) and work fine, however…A lot of times the surround system breaks up, one of the speakers stops working and suddenly is back or sometimes I even have to resetup some of them (that is, within the surround setup part). What is the main difference of how the surround 5.1 setup works between those speakers compared to all the other stand alone speaker (those always work fine)? So far I can only see that the ARC = WM:1, The SL’s are WM:2 and Sub is WM:2 so i ‘guess’ it uses the ARC as main device and that one connects to the sub and 2x sl, right? Does it do that over the same wifi or creates its own? And if so, is there a way to change that?
I’ve learnt a lot from you Over the years. Thank you and as a way of saying thank you , I’m posting conversation that might help others Kept experiencing tiny audio drops (milli seconds) from rear speakers connected via s2 amp connected to arc playbar.after trying everything , new ethernet, updating software, changing tv settings . But nothing then I realised the WiFi was still enabled even though I was connected via Ethernet . Disabled and it fixed it . The WiFi must have clashes on the network.
I’ve pretty much uploaded all of my music to my WDPR2100 NAS. Well at least on the tail end. It’s taking me over a week to figure it out and to copy to NAS. So I’m trying to figure out how to use my NAS to play music on Sonos now. I’m not having much luck. I’ve searched here and found a few old post. One post took me to this...https://support.sonos.com/s/article/78?language=en_US. I followed the directions on my Windows laptop and and my iPhone. Took me a few try’s on the iPhone to get to the Next button. I typed in \\y:mycloudpr2100\music and Next highlighted finally. But when I hit Next I get the message The computer y:mycloudpr2100 cannot be found. I tried my user name and password and still same message. Do I need to configure this on my Windows laptop first before my iPhone? What am I missing here?
Is there a workaround or a software fix coming to prevent Roam speakers from automatically unpairing stereo mode when completely powered off (which you must do to preserve battery life)?

Have just received a brand new Sonos Arc from the States. I live in Israel and our electrical system uses 220 volts. Do I need a tranformer?
Hi!I want to make HT in such config:Apple TV - Projector - two AMPs (1 - for Front Speakers, 2 - for Surr Speakers) SubI need digital HDMI “switch” box with:1 - HDMI input - for Apple TV2 - HDMI output for Projector. Hi,I’ll be buying the Epson EH-TW7000 projector soon and I kinda want to stay with my Sonos setup. Ideally I’d buy a Sonos Move to connect via Bluetooth, but due to SCMS-T it’s not supported. As I understand this leaves me with:a) connecting and old (1. or 2. gen) apple tv to the projector and then using airplay to fetch the sonos. Not even entirely sure if that would fly. Has anyone tried?b) finding a non-sonos alternativeVery open to hearing what c) might be as long as it’s wireless. The projector will not be installed, but be used in various places in my apartment, so it needs to be portable. Thanks in advance.
Can you still trade in a unit that won’t power on ? I have a sonos connect that has never been connected to my system that won’t power on. Can I trade this in or does it need to connect to my system ? Thanks for the help.. Burned by a looser from Kijii.
Hello, I’m considering to get sonos equipment for home theater (beam + 2 one SL as rear speakers + sub).I have a turntable that I want to be able to listen on this system.Instead of buying a port, I consider buying a sonos 5 on wich you can plug an external source.————————————————— TVsub beam sonos5 turntable couchoneSL oneSL—————————————————My question is, if everything is in the same room, will I be able to listen my records on every speakers at the same time (sonos 5 would « send » music on every other devices) ?If so, do you know how stereo will be rendered ? thank you for your help
Are there any plans for more in depth EQ settings / True Play for the Sonos Amp powering non Sonos speakers?I love my Sonos Amp but I'm very limited with it connected to a pair of Fyne Audio F501 floor standing speakers. Using Roon I can use a Parametric Equalizer which makes a huge difference to the overall sound coming out my speakers. Unfortunately though when I am using the S2 app I lose this capability.
I am considering buying a Play 3 speaker with a smaller support speaker like a Sonus 1. One concern I have is, can updates with the iphone, make the Sonus incompatible?
Tried a variety of different upnp servers - nothing displays under music browse (S2). Does this feature actually work?
We all know of the 65k limit of MP3’s that Sonos can handle. We also might now of Spotify playing the same songs over and over again for your daily mix…I now have a raspberry pi and mounted my music collectionI just had a brainf*t that maybe I could run a docker with icecast and dark ice: https://github.com/jwater7/docker-darkice And generate ‘radio stations’ to play may music. I searched only a little but could not find anything related quicklypre-requisite: I have my music organzied in genre/artist/albumI am playing around with nodejs and have build an interface to interact with the collection (the main idea was to move music out of my collection to reach the Sonos limit.I am thinking that it would be nice tocreate playlists on a scheduled basis (nightly) to have a fresh playlist in the morning keep track of tracks that have been played add albums to custom playlists (for today I want to listen to these albums) create ‘radiostations’ for different genres of music (combine bluegrass, c
As I finish my 30 day free subscription, wanted to jot down my quick thoughts on Sonos HD Radio and why I won’t be renewing (for now). The biggest reason is cost/value. $7.99 is a lot for what you are getting (and not getting). To be honest if they would have offered an annual subscription for $59.99 I probably would have bought but not for almost $100. If I were to give it a grade: Overall B-; Value D+; Features B-; Selections B+; Ease of Use A.My wife and I have listened to it all month (not using any other music services) to give it a fair shake. My kids use Apple Music exclusively so for them it doesn’t matter. Probably a half dozen stations we regularly listened to-Mellow Morning (every morning), Cruise Control, Mainstream, Pure Unplugged, Radio a Gogo, Rock Pantheon, Rock Road Trip, Alternative Energy; used Pink Noise/Rain every night to go to sleep; even the Holidaze to set up the tree and decorations. Sampled about a dozen others to try them out. Great stations, very different m
I guess the guys and gals at Sonos would prefer I just buy another (or two) Sonos 1 to connect to the Beam to make for surround sound 😄 , but is it possible to ‘pair’ a sonos 1 and 3 to a Beam to make up the surround sound? Thank You.
Hello, Is it possible to add a music service before connecting to a Sonos product?I am trying to test the connection to Apple Music before connecting to a product owned by a venue that will be playing my music over a Sonos product. Which means that I am unable to connect to the product now. Right now, ‘Add Services & Voice’ is greyed out in the iOS Sonos app. Thanks!
I've been a Sonos user since 2010. I started with a Play 5 gen 1, then bought a Connect Amp, swapping to a Connect a couple of years later. Five years later I bought a Sub and two Play 1s. Used a boost gen 1 (called something else) and then a boost. Initially I had some interference issues, big microwave in the kitchen. But the I had 7 or 8 years of completely trouble free listening, networked hard disk and streaming via Deezer. And then........? I think it started with the new Sonos app, the lack of support for old gear (play 5, Connect) etc. Sonos bombarded me with adverts for the new app, I couldn't turn off the advert that appeared on the old controller. Then I found that support for Tunein radio got worse, couldn't listen to pre aired radio shows.I took the fateful decision to split my system, I didn't need multi room throughout the house. That ruined everything, the system is now so unstable. S1 is not too bad, Sonos is unreliable. Can't use boost with Sonos. Tried support, but I'm
Hi. I’ve discovered BBC R1 Dance recently whilst out on the bike, it’s just the ticket for some background tunes at 9pm cruising round some nice quiet summery lanes.Just asked my Sonos One to chuck it on at home via Alexa, and it couldn’t find it.I searched manually in the app, and sure enough, it isn’t there.TuneIn has every single BBC Station other than R1 dance it seems.Anyone got any ideas?I’ve read that you can AirPlay some BBC stuff to a Sonos, but I’m all android so not an option.Seems a weird, and annoying, oversight by someone somewhere.
I have SONY headphones which I connect to my 2020 Samsung UE65TU8500.When I try to connect my headphones they change back to Sonos Arc after a few seconds. I have tried to adjust the EXPERT settings on TV but without success.Any suggestions please?Thank you
I have a completely wired ethernet configuration. I have a play 3, ZP80, and playbar all hardwired through ethernet and a computer also wired using the desktop app to control them. I have the wireless radios all disabled on the 3 players. My problem is my android phone also hardwired with ethernet will not allow me to see rooms or play music this way. Is there something I’m doing wrong to get the android to work in wired mode? Since the desktop app functions in this manner, I’m lead to believe the android apps can also, but I can’t seen to get it to function. Any help is greatly appreciated! Before you give advice, I’m not interested in using any kind of wireless transmission at all. Yes, I do know this was how Sonos was designed, but I only want everything wired. Thank you!
