I recently upgraded to S2 at last and was disappointed to find that the S2 Controller for the Mac is still not remotely accessible. There was a discussion about this on S1 years ago and I think that thread is Locke now. Most of the buttons aren’t labelled, so when you use it you just hear “button, button, button, button” as you move through items. Then it seems impossible to give all the import bits focus. I can’t navigate to the choose rooms button (although the dialog that appears does work with VO if I can somehow get lucky with the mouse), and neither the queue or browse panes seem to be usable at all.I’m really disappointed how little Sonos seem to regard the Mac app. By way of contrast, the iPhone app is really great. But if it worked, it would be much faster and more convenient for me to use the Mac in most cases. Is there any way of this ever getting any attention? I feel that a lot of the issues are very likely to be trivial to fix.
Hi everyone, I'm planning on setting up a sonos-based 5.1 home theater on my new home, but first of all it's like to understand if the projector I want to get does properly support Dolby Atmos, TrueHD, etc.The projector in question is the LG HU85LS (I think it's an Europe-branded version of the HU85LA).LG's website seems unclear on whether eARC is supported or not. Could someone help me decipher this table from the manual? Is eARC supported or not? What are the constraints? All I want to understand is if I can simply connect it to a Sonos Arc and have the best audio from streaming services and such. Thanks a bunch guys!
I just got my new Arc and Dolby Atmos sounds amazing, but I noticed that all other Dolby formats show up as “PCM 5.1” when using my Apple TV 4K. Switching the formatting back to Dolby solves this issue, but means I’m having to constantly tinker with the Settings to get the right Dolby surround for the right movie/TV Show. Has anyone else had this issue and is there a better solution? Is Apple aware of this issue? (Everything, including my Apple TV app on the Sony TV works flawlessly in switching formats, so this is an Apple TV 4K issue only.)
Neither I can’t play music from my library. i’ve got an Iphone thanks
Hi I have Sonos AMP, 2 wired sonos celing spicers, sonos soundbar Beam Gen2 and sonos sub Gen3. Can I link them and use as surround ?
I have many Sonos speakers, amps, etc… I may have a Sonos problem :)One of my older systems is a Sonos:Connect that runs into a Sony consumer receiver which then powers 4 outdoor speakers (rated at 125W each). The problem I have with this system is that the receiver times out, which means that every time I want to turn on the outdoor speakers, I have to manually flip the receiver on. Boo!I installed a couple extra outdoor zones, which are powered with the new Amps which have enough juice now to power my other outdoor speakers. So, my options now seem to be replace my existing Connect/Receiver solution with 2 Sonos amps ($700 ea), which now have enough power per channel to run everything. Or, I find a receiver that doesn’t auto-turn off that is less than $1400 and keep the Connect. Of course, the other problem is that the Sonos amps are all back ordered until August, so… yeah… Anyway, looking for receiver options, suggestions?
I’ve been using Deezer in Sonos for sometime and it has the capability when you hear a song you really like to hit the “heart” button and instantly add to your favourites. I tried Apple Music and this feature was missing… also nowhere to be found in Amazon Unlimited, which doesn’t even allow you to add tracks to Amazon playlists (as far as I can see). What’s anyones experience in Tidal ? Or Spotify? For me it’s an essential feature and for reasons I won’t go into I’m looking to switch streaming provider
Not sure this is the best place to post this……..but where do you post or submit Sonos feature requests? I have been a long term Sonos user and have a few recommendations for features. Please let me know if there is a better place to submit or post these…….where they are most likely to be voiced to Sonos representatives who may act if enough people suggest? The first, is to suggest that the Tunein service allow sign-in so that you can use the Sonos App to listen to TuneIn Premium if you are paying for this anyhow. I have seen requests for this going back at least 10 years, but Sonos does not seem to have ever added this. I believe newer services similar to Sonos have added this, such as Bluesound, and see no obvious reason why this would not be relatively easy to implement. I do think they should implement their own Sonos app for Apple watch I do think they should add a Sonos Controller app for Android TV so that Sony and other Android based smart TV’s can show what’s playing o
I’m hoping I’ve missed a really simple solution but I can’t find it.I’m loving listening to all my sources of music together on the Sonos app in my house, But when I leave the house and go walking with my headphones on. I’d like my phone to carry on playing the album/playlist/mixcloud show from where I left off.The Mixcloud app on Android for example doesn’t seem to carry over where I got to in a show on the Sonos app if then start listening directly on the app on my phone. Likewise albums / playlists.I have to use MediaMonkey Android on my phone separately to listen to the same playlist I was listening to on Sonos.I’d also like this functionality so I can switch from listening to Sonos speakers in the house to headphones at night. At the moment I’m living in a parrellel universe of Sonos Speakers and Headphones Just having the Sonos app play locally on your phone would surely solve all this?I have a 512GB sd card on my phone and I would be happy to upgrade to a 1 or 2 TB if it solved t
Hi. I currently own a Sonos One and a Sonos Roam. I'm considering buying the Pro-ject T1 Phono SB turntable with the Sonos Five speaker so I can get back to listening to vinyl. My living room is quite small and has been served by Sonos One so far, so I believe Sonos Five will be quite the upgrade (One will be moving to another room). I'd therefore love to use Five as my main sound output, also while streaming movies/shows. I don't own a TV and I stream video on my MacBook Pro and project on a wall through a Benq projector (model is from 10 years ago, EP4227, and I use and HDMI cable to connect it to my laptop). In the past, I've tried playing the sound on One while projecting the video (simply by having One and my MacBook on the same WiFi and selecting the sound output on One, while projecting the video through HDMI) but there's always been a substantial lag in the sound. I've given up and always use the MacBook speakers for sound, which is obviously less than optimal. If I am to inves
I am having intermittent connection issues with my Sonos Arc. It has been connected to my LG CX for around 2 years now, and I had zero issues until around 1-2 months ago. And it seems to be getting worse by the day. The surround sound speakers and subwoofer keep disconnecting on their own. And sometimes, even the Arc itself goes completely mute. I check in the Sonos App and everything is still technically connected just fine. So it’s not an App issue or me needing an Amp. When I unplug the Arc and plug it back in, that usually works. However, within an hour or so of watching tv it goes out again. Can someone help me please?! I imagine there is an issue with one of the latest software updates from the LG, Sonos, or AppleTV 4K. However, I have no idea which item(s) is causing the issue. This is extremely frustrating when I’ve paid over $5k to have a fantastic home entertainment experience!!!
Hello everyone,I picked up an HD Fury Arcana and decided to try out Dolby ATMOS with my Beam Gen2. I’ve connected per instructions and recommended HD Fury cables (Apple TV out to Arcana in, Arcana eArc out to Beam Gen2). When I view out ATMOS enabled content i.e. Avengers Endgame, Shang-Chi, Sonos S2 is showing airplay and ATMOS?! In Apple TV settings, it is showing ATMOS available for audio output, so I am wondering if something is amiss here since there is a lot of discussion about airplay not transmitting ATMOS signal? Appreciate any feedback on this, and to be honest I’m not clear why S2 is showing airplay at all given the wired connections.Thank you very much,Tim
What is the difference between Gen 1 & Gen 2 Sonos One speaker?
I'd like the ability to select a My Sonos playlist, and have the system remember my playing preference for the playlist in terms of shuffle, repeat, crossfade or none. Example scenario. The following 3 are added to My Sonos for ease of access via the app.1. An album by Counting Crows. I want it played in order as the artist desired. No crossfade.2. Classical Christmas from Spotify. I want this shuffled with crossfade.3. Sleeping white noise from my local music library. I want this single track repeated with crossfade. I'm quite sure this is currently not possible, so I'd ask Sonos to make it a feature. It could be something like "Playlist Options" after it's been added to My Sonos. Thoughts? Suggestions everyone? Thanks!
So I got a Sonos Roam as a gift. Issue is I have a full S1 system (several Connects and Connect amps) that are only S1 compatible. The Roam is only S2 compatible.so figured I could download the S2 app and use that app with the Roam and the S1 with my existing system But it won’t seem to let me and keeps kicking me out to the S1 app (where the roam won’t work). Can’t I use two different apps on the same phone to control the two different systems?
Can you add the ceiling speakers to the ARC, Sub and 2x One SL's? Been all over YouTube and Google search, but can't find anything solid. Tried to get the Atmos effect to the fullest.
Hello, I’ve had my arc and sub gen 2 and two play one sl for a while now probably at least a year and I’ve had the same arc issues as everyone else, but it’s been pretty much problem free for the past 6-8 months. But recently a few days ago my sound will just cut out while watching something, I’ll try to switch inputs and do other light troubleshooting to no avail and then the sound will come back on in like 10 minutes. It’s happened watching Hulu at first then watching Apple TV+. This is through an Apple TV 4K. Not the latest one but the one before that. But when the sound cuts out I can still play music through my system via the app. But I played the music and then stopped it and tried to play the tv and the app didn’t immediately switch back to showing tv as the input. I also have an lg cx and I tried to play content directly through the tvs os instead of the Apple TV and there was still no sound. It’s been happening about once a day lately. Any suggestions are appreciated
I bought a New Samsung TV and Sonos ARC Soundbar last week: Samsung TV Model QE65Q95TATXXU Software Version : 1115.5 Connected Sonos Arc to the eARC port 3 on the TV and the Arc only delivers any sound when the eARC is switched off (no Sound on Automatic). The Sound output on the TV is only recognising the ARC as connected to HDMI when it should recognise it as connected to the eARC HDMI port. The Dolby ATMOS compatibility button makes no difference when on or off. Pass through setting makes no difference. Dolby Atmos (DD+) is recognised by the SONOS App when playing directly from Netfix App on TV, this means the TV and SONOS ARC are not talking to each other and not recognising the eARC signal (it should say DOLBY Atmos not DOLBY Atmos DD+). Checked all connections and have rebooted both TV and Soundbar with no success Not ideal when the TV and Sound Bar cost over £3500, I just want it to work and thats what should be delivered by SONOS. Spoke to SONOS Support (Xander P) and the
Apologies for the really stupid and basic question….If I buy a sounder such such as an Arc or Beam and then add in a stereo pair of Ones to use as back speakers, how does it appear in the Sonos system? I have a few Sonos speakers which we use for music and radio, and want to see if I can reuse one of my existing Ones, add in a stereo pair and it still be usable as both a home cinema setup and also for my current audio needs. If listening to audio in the home I probably wouldn’t need the Arc/Beam to be joining in, although maybe it doesn’t matter. But if I start watching TV I wouldn’t want it to broadcast across the entire house. What I’m trying to get at is that I want a really simple system that doesn’t involve any fiddling about with configuration and settings to use on a day to day basis.Again sorry this feels like such a stupid question and it was quite hard to phrase so I hope it makes some sense.
I have two ones, one in the kitchen and one in the living room. There are no physical walls separating these spaces and the speakers are about 30 feet apart. I’m considering adding the sub but I’m looking for affirmation that this new setup will sound good. Because of space limitations the sub would have to be placed in a corner approximately 20 feet from each speaker. Thoughts?
Morning all. was hoping to get some help with an issue. Every time I was to listen to something I need to re add the station on the app. I used to be able to just touch the play button and it would play the same station. I’ve checked the app settings and the touch controls are set to on. any help?
I currently have no Sonos products and know very little about them. I am looking for a very economical way to add streaming from Deezer to my traditional Hifi. I think the Sonos Connect can do this but would I need any other equipment? I mention the Connect as they seem to be around £50 used and this seems about as cheap as I can find.
Hi Folks,I have a Sonos Arc, the Sub Woofer and a Sonos Move. I don’t currently use the Sonos Move to create a home cinema with the Arc as it is constantly moved around the house. I am considering purchasing another Sonos Move or x2 Sonos One’s to add to the Sonos Arc and Sub and create a full Home Cinema Experience. I don’t however have easy access to power points for the Sonos One’s. I am wondering whether there are any major benefits to purchasing the Sonos One’s over another Sonos Move, particularly if i need to go to the effort of running cabling under the floor to the Sonos One’s.
Used 3 upgrade credits on weekend on older speakers to buy discounted 3 new speakers. But no discount applied at checkout, and Sonos has not responded to email, sales centre do not pick up phone and online chat does nothing after 30 minutes. Similar threads have been closed after a few months. One item suggest that one would only get ONE discounted item anyway even if upgrading multiple products. I do not know if true but if so, would be very inefficient. Ie. make three separate orders to get three discounts. Hopefully someone from Sonos reads these posts.
I did a video chat earlier with one of the Sonos support reps to ask about whether I could use a Roam to connect my bluetooth turntable to the Roam and then to the rest of my Sonos set-up. She was adamant that this would not work. However, I’ve read a number of articles about using the Roam and see a number of chats on here about it as well. I’m assuming that the Roam will work with my bluetooth turntable but Sonos doesn’t want to sanction its use officially as they would prefer me to buy a more expensive solution? Is that the case?
