I have an Apple TV 4k, a Vizio M55 and a Sonos Playbar. The TV is connected to the Playbar via optical cable. Apple TV is connected to the Vizio via HDMI. I used to be able to control the volume via my Apple TV of the Playbar. Now it doesn’t work and I feel lost. I had to reconnect the Sonos as a new system as ai changed the wifi. the app says apple tv remote should not be used during set up of the playbar.

Having recently finally upgraded my Android and desktops app to the latest releases, I feel that the ‘new’ S2 app is now nearly as functional as the ‘old’ S2 app. However, there are a few features that I valued before that don’t seem to be there. My question is, are any/all coming in future releases?The persistent notification I used to find really handy for quickly managing the sound and on/off, but now have to open the app, wait a few seconds and then get access to the relevant controls.  If I am streaming radio, my ‘station of choice’ is BBC Radio 3 via BBC Sounds. On the desktop app this shows an image, either of show or music playing, but this is not seen on the app.  Also when streaming BBC radio via BBC Sounds, clicking in the 3 dots (bottom right) there is an option to “Show in Sounds”. I am an electrician. I have a customer that would like to set up a 30 x 16' room as both his ultimate TV theatre and music listening room. The walls are drywalled so moving speaker wire around is not an option but could be used around the TV (if needed). I have been asked to add receptacles around the room where speakers are needed at the speaker height. Can you suggest the best setup and heights for speakers in this situation. I've suggested the Arc mounted under the TV, a Sub 4 on floor under the TV and two Era 300 for rear. He is suggesting we also need two front L and R speakers as well. Any help with a proven setup would be appreciated.

How come when I use Alexa on my era 300 to set a alarm for the morning using Apple or Spotify music Alexa doesn’t cooperate and just say I don’t understand that

Ever since the new app came out, we’ve lost the ability to set inputs as favorites. Is this on the roadmap to add to the new app?

I got an Era 100 yesterday, and set it up in my kitchen near an existing Sonos One. When playing a mono stream to Everywhere (as I usually do), and listening between the two speakers, it’s clear that they are reversed in audio polarity. There is no stable central image as there should be between two speakers playing the same content, and the bass is weak. Is this a defect, or is there a reason Sonos reversed the polarity between speaker families?

I love a lot of the Sonos Radio stations I’ve listened to - but sometimes I can’t find them when I go to Sonos Radio and browse the categories. Two examples (in app and web app) - If I browse to sleep sounds, I see 3 stations:Piano for Sleeping, Rain and White Noise. But I remembered using others ones - so when I search for sleep I find others - like:Rockin’ Chair, Oceon Sounds, Forest Sounds, Rainforest, Pink Noise, Brown Noise.When I browse to Artist Exclusives, I see 9 stations, but I remembered Bjork had one and it isn’t there. If I search for Bjork, I find it in the search results. I tried the Sonos support bot - which basically told me to use search for the missing ones. I find that unsatisfying though. I hoped that browse would always be a full set of stations where I could be introduced to new stations and see all existing stations. I have no idea what other stations are missing f

Hi All! I am contemplating installing a Sonance MAG 6.1 but need 2 add 2 speakers which I understand can not be added in wired fashion. I was told that i could run 2 extra wifi speakers off the sonos app. Can anyone confirm if this is true or not?  Thanks!

Where is the EQ setting in Android app ?In IOS (IPad) i could find it in Device setting.The inconsistent menu between IOS and Android is confusing. 

I recently purchased the new Sonos Arc Ultra as the main soundbar for my living room. I’m in a new house, and the living room is just about 20 yards away from another secondary living space. One of the things that sold me on Sonos was the ability so connect many speakers throughout the home, since we have a fairly open floor plan and like to entertain. In my secondary living space I have 2 bookshelf speakers and a subwoofer that I’d like to be able to sync with the main soundbar for TV audio. Will the Sonos Port work for this? We use YouTube TV, so playing audio through the two discreet speaker systems means the audio in both rooms is out of sync with each other, which is maddening since the rooms are within earshot of each other. I’d planned on hooking up the Port to my bookshelf speakers, but I’ve read some places that there is a lag on the TV audio. It’s not clear to me if that’s lag from the TV itself, or from another “primary” sonos device that’s playing TV audio.

You will gather as you read my question that I’m not particularly tech savvy hence asking all you knowledgeable people out in the community 😊I bought a Beam 2, 2 x era 100 and a mini sub for my LG TV last month and am very happy with it; it sounds fantastic in my living room. In my kitchen I have my old stack system. A Pro-Ject RPM 1.3 Genie turntable, a Rotel RA-820B amp, cd player and tuner and 2 sets of Tannoy mercury F speakers attached via a switching box for 2 room playing. I’d like to add my turntable to the Sonos setup. The cd player, tuner and speakers are now obsolete with the purchase of the Sonos but I’d like to keep my LPs.My understanding is that my amp has a phono pre amp for the turntable (photo for info) the turntable doesn’t have its own pre amp. I've got a stereo pair of play 3's downstairs not doing much anymore, just a bit of Spotify. What, if any, options do I have these days to send audio from portable devices? For example, watch a movie (think any of the numerous video streaming services available) on a phone, tablet, or laptop but have the audio output from the play 3 pair? So far it seems impossible without another device added to the mix. I have a play bar and sub upstairs, also a Move 2.Thank you kindly.

Hi all,I searched the forum for this but all the relevant threads were closed, so that’s why this new thread.With Sonos Ace it’s possible to listen to the tv through a compatible sound bar. I own the Beam (gen 1) so that shouldn’t be a problem.My question: will it be possible to listen to music through the Beam? Is it technically so different listening to the tv through the Beam than it is listening to music? Usually I listen to my library through 2 Play3’s en 1 Beam.My music library is on a Synology NAS

My set home theater set up was working fine with Sonos arc, two back speakers and the mini sub, working with my ps4.I connected my ps4 to internet (I don't know if it's related) and on the same day, the crackling noise started.I can see that many people have had that problem, going back 6 years ago!!Are you guys going to fix this?We've all paid good money to have good sound. And we don't.And I don't want to go through all the nonsense of "doing this, unplugging that, trying this or reset that…" I have set it up well, it was working, and now it's not.Make it work or give me a refund thanks. 

I have read extensively on the Sonos Forum and elsewhere and am struggling for clarity on a fairly basic question: can a Sonos Sub be connected to a Sonos Amp via standard home WiFi or can it only be connected via the network that the Sonos Amp creates (unclear whether that is called Sonosnet or something else when it is 2.4GHZ or 5 GHZ but neither work for me as signals don’t reach far enough).  My use case is pretty simple:  I have an AV closet with multiple Sonos Amps are that are connected to ceiling speakers in multiple parts of the house.  The subs for the rooms are too far away from the amps to connect via the proprietary Sonos network.  I know this because if I put the subs next to the amps near the AV closet they connect and work fine.  But when I move them to the relevant rooms they show up as Sub Not Connected.  I do not have Ethernet ports to hardwire the subs in these rooms. So, is there a way to connect the Subs to the amps via WiFi?  Is so,

I have Sonos Beam (Gen 2) and two Sonos Era 300s as surrounds. I know that front-firing speakers are disabled when Era 300s are used as surrounds. However, in my case, only the outwards facing side speakers are playing. There is no sound coming from the inwards facing side speakers. I tried to remove and add surrounds in the app multiple times and it made no difference.When tried Dolby Atmos sound test (available in Dolby Atmos from Apple Music or Tidal), both left and right surround and left and right surround channels were played played by the same side-firing speakers of Era 300s.Do you have it the same?--Sorry, I meant both left and right surround and left and right REAR surround channels were played by the same side-firing speakers of Era 300s. Moderator Edit: Combined thread and reply.

Trying to listen via S1 App to Mixcloud content via my Sonos system.Can search Mixcloud OK but not getting any audio at all - I can listen via the Mixcloud site after listening to an ad.Is anybody else having this issue?

Hi everyone,I recently bought a Sonos Arc Ultra and noticed a small depression in the top center of the speaker grille, approximately where the led is located. It’s not visible in photos and can only be felt when I run my finger across it. Is this part of the design, or could it be a defect? I haven’t noticed any issues with sound quality, but I just want to be sure. Has anyone else experienced something similar? Thanks in advance! 

I’ve been muddling through getting my local Mac music library accessible to Sonos (something I used with no issues for years before the App was improved).  I have it working sometimes but also not working.Some of the tracks work exactly as they should, launched from the Sonos program on the Mac or from the App on my  iPhone.  Some of them fail from my Mac, but then work from the iPhone, and then also work from the Mac. Others pop a persistent error message of the form:Unable to play '<track name>.m4a' - cannot connect to /<HOSTNAME>/<DIRECTORY> because the server cannot be found. My music library is on an external disk mounted directly on my Mac which is sharing the filesystem (SMB enabled).  I am trying to launch the music from the Sonos program on my Mac and also from two family iPhones.It

After updating the Sonos app on 4/9/25, Amazon Music will not play properly.  Songs start and then quit playing or I get an error like ‘Song not encoded properly’.  What is going on??  Why the continual problems with Sonos??!  What can be done to fix this issue?  I’ve already removed Amazon Music and then added it back -- no change, still skips or partial plays.  Please fix this!!

I have a playbar and 2 move speakers that are connected separately.  It’s a small rectangular den and the move speakers are in the back of the room behind the sofa, but they often drop the sound for a second but it happens repeatedly.I am looking to get 2 speakers that I can connect with the playbar for home theatre surround sound.  (I also have a sub).Customer service told me that sonos 5, 1, 1SL, play 1, 3, 5 are compatible with the playbar.Which do you recommend?
