Trying to listen via S1 App to Mixcloud content via my Sonos system.
Can search Mixcloud OK but not getting any audio at all - I can listen via the Mixcloud site after listening to an ad.
Is anybody else having this issue?

I’m playing Mixcloud feeds on my Sonos and an example is that Tiesto Club Life will play but Above and Beyond Group Therapy wont. Strange thing is that previously episode of Group Therapy that played before is today not working.
I have tried to capture traffic from my Windows Client with the Sonos App and the Play 5 is that when im trying to playing Group Therapy, i’m getting lots more TLS 1.2 errors and RST connection compared to playing Club Life.
I know this isn’t the correct way as I should capture traffic between the Play 5 and out, but this is a bit more complicated setup.
Another observation is that if I’m trying several time to start and stop play Group Therapy that is not work, at some time my device will disappear from the Sonos Setup and I need to power cycle the device, my guees is that the Sonos Setup has crashed, as sometime I need to power cycle all devices. So could the issue be related to Certificates and TLS ?
After an extended back and forth with Sonos and Mixcloud customer support, it was clear that the issue was with Mixcloud who said this in conclusion:
---
Thanks for getting back in touch.
At this time, Mixcloud only supports S2 devices and may support earlier models that still receive software updates from Sonos.
I can't say for sure if future updates to our app will make it possible on other devices, but I recommend keeping an eye on the app store for updates when possible.
---
Unfortunately, this means that I’m unsubscribing and moving on from the service. Sonos S1 is the only use case at my house.
I will really miss it. I love some of the people that I’m met there and have listened to over the years. Deeply saddened.

That is a Bummer for sure, thank you for the follow-up and keeping the community informed. It’s much more than SONOS or Mixcloud have provided. It’s a shame it takes so much back and forth to have an actual issue looked into and receive a resolution for it, in this case a non resolution and the tag line of ‘upgrade to S2’.
This might not be a perfect solution for everyone, but I was motivated enough to repurpose an extra computer as a dedicated Mixcloud streaming station. I connected the headphone jack from the computer to the Line-In on my Sonos Connect, and it’s working!
I can’t control the queue through the S1 app anymore, but it’s a solid workaround to keep Mixcloud playing throughout my system—better than losing access entirely. Hope this helps others in a similar situation!
Same issue as others, I have Play:1, Play:5 (gen 2), Connect, and Move all using the S1 app. All my other streaming services continue to work without issue, it’s only Mixcloud. It’s been just over a week since the Mixcloud issue presented itself for me. I work from home and stream Mixcloud on SONOS everyday, this has been a real bummer not having it work. I occasionally receive a message that whatever I’m trying to stream from Mixcloud is not encoded correctly. Can anyone confirm if using the S2 app has the same issue? Hoping SONOS comes with fix for this soon.
I have the same issue. S2 works fine. Frustrating
Same problem.
3x Play:5 Gen1
And this is where all the old ‘new’ tech begins to fall over. Yes you may own a perfectly functioning piece of hardware but it gradually becomes obsolete due to software.
Just ordered some a Bluetooth 3.5mm line in receiver to bypass the S1 app. Will see how it goes and report back

Thank you for confirming, I’m really apprehensive to upgrade to the latest S2/Sonos app since the S1 system is performing so solidly for me with the exception of Mixcloud now.
My current workaround I tried today is to launch the Mixcloud App on my phone and begin playing a mix/show/Playlist, then using Airplay option in the Mixcloud app to stream to my Play:5. Then group all my speakers to the Play:5. It’s a little cumbersome but works, the Mixcloud app is not the best for creating a queue but it works.
So if I'm forced to switch to S2, Sonos will also replace my incompatible speakers. It would be nice to have Mixcloud running again with S1 soon. Thanks support.
So let me get this straight
Sonos warned S1 users bout diminishing features on S1 when the S1/S2 split was announced almost five years ago. I can understand this is unwelcome, but it can’t be a surprise.
hello all!
I use the official Sonos app and all my devices are up to date on S2 OS, I feel very foolish but hey ho that's where I’m at
Mixcloud is now only working on my OLD devices (Play 1’s, Play 3 & Playbar) but not playing on the newer ones - am I right in thinking that goes against what’s been happening with you guys?
This thread is about S1 problems, yes.
Hi All
I created a support case at Mixcloud and just got this feedback - I can confirm that Mixcloud is working again on all my S1 devices

“ Thanks for your continued patience while our Engineering Team investigated the playback issues with Sonos devices.
An issue was identified with some earlier devices, specifically affecting users on S1.
The team has been working tirelessly to determine the cause and has released an update that may help Mixcloud work with your device.
Please make sure your software is up to date, and let us know if you're still experiencing playback issues after updating.
Thanks for your understanding. “
Excellent. I to confirm back up and running on all devices. Great work community. Have a great weekend all!
I also got this message from Mixcloud and I thought I had to update something but didn’t want to update my Sonos software unless it went back to the dreaded S2! But just got home and tried to play Mixcloud again and I’m delighted to say Mixcloud is now working on Sonos S1 for me though! Happy days!
HOLY S***
It actually works again. I tried again after reading the update in this thread, no software updates on my end jus tried in the S1 app and working

Excellent! just checked mine and all working too… pity Innuos couldn’t sort it so easily.
Have had to buy a Sonos Connect second gen.
I’m away for a few weeks and can’t listen for myself but this is really great news, Mixcloud and the catch-up shows are a large part of my listening day - a huge thanks to all here who put in the legwork chasing and keeping the forum updated.
Also thanks to those at Mixcloud / Sonos for not walking away from a problem on a solid and much loved (but admittedly legacy) system, especially after the recent problems and the turmoil it’s left Sonos in.
Great weekend all!
Thanks everyone for the support and feedback. Good to see this fixed.
Hum…. Not fixed for me…. Mixcloud application works fine, but within Sonos it doesn't. I can access everything but when I click play it starts and stop.
Now fixed thanks
