Trying to listen via S1 App to Mixcloud content via my Sonos system.

Can search Mixcloud OK but not getting any audio at all - I can listen via the Mixcloud site after listening to an ad.

Is anybody else having this issue?

Mixcloud was having an issue this week according to their support:

I don't know if it has been solved already, but I would check with Mixcloud to see if it has been corrected.

I am having the same issue.  Was on with tech support (two levels) for hours.  They have kick over the engineering and I am told I should have an update late this week.

I am having the same issue. Sonos support told me they exhausted all fixed on Sonos side and told me to contact MixCloud.

I have the same issue. I can get to all my stuff in start mixcloud but no audio.

That’s strange..I use the SonoPhone app and MixCloud and SoundCloud works fine.

Mixcloud not working on Sonos controller 1

Still not work and I’ve tried using the Sonos app

@macspur, @Mo201, @AngieBambini, Have you tried contacting Mixcloud support on your own?

@Pools-3015 I have submitted a request explaining the issue. Have not heard back.

i was on the phone with Sonos support for 55 minutes nothing resolved was told it might be my DNS? i think its a glitch with mixcloud

Can’t figure out why some here just doesn’t get the SonoPhone app. Mixcloud and all my music services work just fine through Sonos.

I’ve tried through my phone app as well as PC and neither work for me.

Have submitted request direct to Mixcloud and no reply yet

Same problem here. Couldn't fix it with sonos helpdesk. They let me walk through the standard procedures. Now contactec mixcloud. I received a reaction that they are familiar with a problem and asked which sonos products and mixcloud app i am using. Hope they can do something... cause this sucks

Same issue with Mixcloud through S1, been a few days now.

Can search Mixcloud no problem, tracks load to queue and looks like it’s playing however progress / time bar doesn’t move off 0.00.

Tried various controllers (Android S1 App, PC and CR200) - all unable to play.

Streaming radio through myTuner generally ok however after trying Mixcloud (without luck) I often get ‘Unable to play radio station’.

Haven’t got the will to spend hours on phone to support so watching this thread closely.

Received the below reply from MixCloud Support:

********************************************************************************************************************

We've identified an issue affecting playback for some shows on Sonos.

Our team is actively working on a fix as soon as possible.

In the meantime, try reloading your play queue and logging out and back in if needed. This should allow the shows to play as expected.

If this does not fix the issue please provide the version of the Mixcloud App that you are using.

********************************************************************************************************************

The issue remains.

Here is the latest and assuming last message from MixCloud:

Thanks for your patience.

We’re aware that some users who previously accessed Mixcloud via Sonos are now unable to do so following a recent update. Based on our findings, this issue appears to be related to Sonos devices that no longer receive software updates, as Sonos has chosen to end support for them.

Unfortunately, since we don’t manufacture Sonos devices, we’re unable to provide further assistance. We recommend reaching out to Sonos Support for more information on device compatibility and possible solutions.

We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, and we appreciate your understanding.

@SONOS Can you please help your users with this issue??

Can add i’m having the same issue.

Some Feeds in Mixclouds works but some just wont start as described above, and I have also seen that the device I’m trying to play on will actually drop out / Crash so a power cycle is needed.

I’m on S1 and have 4 Play 5 1.Gen with this issue.

Interesting conclusion from their CS folks. Have you submitted a system diagnostic within 10 minutes of experiencing this problem, and called Sonos Support to discuss it? I suspect if it is indeed an issue on the Sonos side, there would be information in the diagnostic that would help Sonos help you.

I’ve been suffering from this problem* too for the last few days (I first noticed it about 20250218).

Good idea to check diagnostics. I’ll try that.

This is a real blocker for me. I love Mixcloud and it forms a large part of my listening. I’m very sad that Sonos is suffering so much at the moment.

*: Sonos OS:S1, Play:5 (Gen 1)/Connect/One/Move1 S1 network setup

Able to browse and cue Mixcloud song.

Song appears in the playing area with album art, playback time appears at 0, but the stream never starts.

This happens whether attempted on S1 app on Android or Sonos app on Windows 11 desktop.

Just adding that I have the same issue, exactly as described.

I have to wonder if MixCloud made some change to the format that their servers are presenting to the Sonos users, that hasn’t been included as a ‘readable format’ to S1, since it’s been frozen for updates. Given that the issue appears to be only MixCloud certainly points to some change on their side. If it was a general Sonos thing, I’d expect a lot more streams to be affected.

Same issue. I spent time on the phone with Sonos. This happened once before and eventually someone fixed it. Pretty big bummer in the meantime

Same issue as others, I have Play:1, Play:5 (gen 2), Connect, and Move all using the S1 app. All my other streaming services continue to work without issue, it’s only Mixcloud. It’s been just over a week since the Mixcloud issue presented itself for me. I work from home and stream Mixcloud on SONOS everyday, this has been a real bummer not having it work. I occasionally receive a message that whatever I’m trying to stream from Mixcloud is not encoded correctly. Can anyone confirm if using the S2 app has the same issue? Hoping SONOS comes with fix for this soon.

I also have this issue :(

With the S1/S2 split Sonos did say there could be a deterioration of some services. Until now I have not seen much of this. Could this be a first? It does look like Mixcloud changed something S1 does not cope well with.
