So far I like my Sonos speakers but find it odd that for something so expensive, it doesn’t support what I consider basic functionality. Since Sonos supports TuneIn, it seems to me it should be able to let me login to my TuneIn account so I can play the music I have subscribed to. I don’t want to subscribe to the Sonos radio stream. My workaround is to stream TuneIn to my Google Cast with TV which is connected to my Arc.Looking through the community archives, it seems there’s a lot of people that want this but Sonos isn’t interested.
Greetings from Norway. I have installed 4xIn ceiling in My new house livingroom and a connect amp. Just want to use it to play music. Can i add the new mini SUB too the system?
How do you fast forward or rewind when playing a song?
Hi, I am looking to buy a Sonos Arc soundbar along with the sub and rear speakers for my lounge, but I would also like to buy a little speaker for the kitchen that would play whatever the soundbar is playing so I can keep listening to the movie whilst cooking (for example). Is there a way to make the kitchen speaker play whatever the soundbar is playing?
Now that Apple allows users to add widgets in the lock screen of iphone and ipads, I would would like to be able to have a Sonos Widget. One of the reasons that i have stayed with Sonos 1 and a Sonos Bridge is that I still prefer my CR200 controller and to have a dedicated remote control. I find that having to get my phone, put the password in then open the app is very fiddly and I much prefer a the remote. As a compromise if I could access the Sonos app via a widget from the lock screen would be someway towards a compromise. Ideally I would love to see Sonos with built in controls and a small display to control its own or other speakers in the system. A widget has to be the lowest cost and viable option, The widget could be access to the volume or what’s playing and then open the Sonos app.
There have been a variety of posts in the community before with people having consistent issues with Stingray Music over the years. For those who loved the music service but hated the repeated issues with it, thus eventually giving up on them (like I did), I’d highly recommend that you add the Stingray Music service back again and give them another try. I’ve been trying them for the past couple of weeks and the service has been super rock solid, better than they have ever been in the past. Seems like someone finally got serious on their end and fixed all of their backend incompatibility issues with Sonos.
Just Bought a Sony UBP-X700 4K player (multiregion) and having some problems with audio. Here's the rest of my set-up: LG C9Beam (Gen 1)2 x Play:1Sub (Gen 1?) The 4K disk I've been testing with is Interstellar (although I have tried others). When the audio settings for the player is set as follows: Digital Audio Output: AutoBD Secondary Audio: On ...the Sonos app reports that the Beam 'Audio In' is Stereo PCM 2.0 when I play the disk on the default audio setting (English DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1ch 48KHz). However.. When I set the following on the player: Digital Audio Output: AutoBD Secondary Audio: Off ...and play the disk on the same default setting, there is no audio and the Sonos app reports 'Audio In' as Silence. When I switch the audio setting on the disk to the next one: English Dolby Digital 5.1 ch 48KHz I get audio but unfortunately there's Audio Description bundled as part of the main soundtrack (the Sonos app reports' Audio In' as Dolby Digital 5.1). Is there a problem with
Hi All,Today I was a bit experimenting with the Qobuz app. I like using the Qobuz app more than the S2 app to be honest. But with the Qobuz app I need to use AirPlay 2. Is the streaming quality the same as using the S2 app? I can’t tell the difference to be honest 🙄Qobuz is claiming to do 24-bit 48 kHz on the Sonos system (if the source is also in that particular quality, if higher, it will get downscaled to 16-bit 44,1 kHz) Should airplay2 deliver the same quality?
Hi all, first post in this forum so forgive my general ignorance. I currently have a Beam 2 and 2 X Sonos One (gen 2) speaker set up for watching movies. I've been considering getting a Bluetooth Turntable like the Sony 310 or the Audio Technica 120XBT...but I've recently discovered that you can't connect either via Bluetooth to my current set up. I understand that one way to do it is to buy a Roam, pair it to the Turntable and then add the Roam to your normal speaker group. Is this correct? And will this make a stereo image on the two Sonos Ones I have? Can the roam be turned down and just act like a gateway? Are there any other more cost effective ways to do it? I saw someone talking on here about a little Bluetooth dongle adapter...but which device would that connect to in my group of Beam and two Ones? I don't understand how that works. Thanks for any assistance in this matter.
As title says, can’t get it to work. I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app, everything that got airplay function is disabled, still no luck getting the controls on the Home Screen to work. Got a Chromecast but can’t imagine that can be an issue? Any other ideas, did go over some topics in the forum but nothing that helped. thansks
Can anyone recommend a professional in NYC to connect built-in speakers and receivers to a new Sonos system? I am lost. Bill
I set an alarm for 9am on my Sonos move. I can no longer use the Sonos app with WiFi so I can’t disable the alarm. Please help
When will amp support IEEE 802.11ac
Howdy,I currently have a Denon AVR with Connect so I can listen to the multiple speakers in the room through Sonos and I use the “Media Player” button and corresponding input on the back of the Denon for this. My turntable is currently hooked up to the Denon AVR and I press Phono on the remote to listen to the turntable. I can only listen to the turntable in this room, not through Sonos. How would I add the turntable to Connect? And would it not run through AVR any longer? If it goes straight to the Connect, do I need to press anything on my Denon Remote to hear the turntable? How would I connect this and what would I have to push to hear it? Thanks!
I have a Pro-Ject turntable hooked up to my Sonos 5, which plays happily through my other Sonos speakers. So clearly it’s getting converted to digital somewhere along the way – my question is does anyone know how to tap into this digital stream so I can get the audio into my Mac? I have a bunch of records I made when I was a young lad that I’d like to import into Logic and mess around with – but I really don’t want to have to buy a new USB turntable just for that!
It seems the way upgrade credit is applied has changed very recently - now the credit only applies to one item in your basket - previously I was seeing a discount applied to all items in my basket. I was considering buying an amp and a sub mini with my 30% credit but it now only applies to the most expensive item in the basket (e.g. just the amp). Has this change been announced by Sonos anywhere?
Hello everybodyI would love to listen podcasts from the Italian Radio Rai.Is there anybody who soved this problem?Thank you and have a nice day!
Is anybody using multiple devices (e.g. Record Player and a CD Player) with their Sonos Amp? It only has one input so how do you achieve this? Surely as an audio company they understand their users will listen to music from different mediums.
I have two Sonos Ones. I recently replaced my wifi router but kept the same SSID and password. Both Sonos Ones could not connect. I connected one with an Ethernet cable and initialized it ok. Then when I disconnect the Ethernet, it is not found. I tried the second One and get the same behaviour: works on Ethernet but not wifi.Any suggestions?I’ve updated the Ones, and reinstalled the Android app. Thanks for any suggestions.
Hi everyone. I’m pretty new to this so please bare with me. I want to set up either a 4.1 or 5.1 using a Sonos Amp which I have acquired. At the moment I have a Sky glass tv which has eARC but no optical output. A Sonos sub and playbar which I used on my old tv. Also I have 2x play ones, 2x play threes and a Sonos Port that I use for my CD player. Any ideas how to add the Sonos amp to create 4.1 or 5.1. I also have two 75 watt 4 ohms speakers. Hope someone can helpcheersBarry
Here's a solution I recently tested and discovered to be effective! I've mentioned it as a *idea* since I believe SONOS might provide a similar solution, unless (of course) licencing constraints prevent them from doing so without Apple's approval. (I'm not sure... just speculating here.)On your Mac, this software solution instals a "airplay" driver that points to one of your Sonos units. Once installed, you may utilise it in three simple steps.Step 1) Launch a terminal (command prompt) and enter airsonos. This activates the driver.Do not end the session. It is acceptable to minimise the window.Step 2) Select the Sonos as the sound output in the Mac's "System Preferences...", "Sound" menu. Now, play some music on your Mac and increase the volume such that the sound emanates from your Sonos" rather than your Mac. There are no wires. There is no fuss.Step 3) Smile from ear to ear as any and all Mac sound wirelessly streams to your Sonos!
Sonos S2 IoS Version 14.14Arc + Sub + Play3 + Play3 + Move + RoamI have added a google wifi mesh to my home network, to improve wifi coverage. It is a different wifi network to the primary router network.I want to move my Sonos system to the new google wifi mesh, instead of the primary router wifi network, so I can use Sonos from IoS while I am connected to the google wifi mesh.On iphone, I connect to the new google wifi, open Sonos app, and follow instructions to set up a new network. All looks good, it recognizes my iphone is on a different wifi, asks if I want to continue setup, connects to the Arc...and then proceeds with a process of “re”connecting the Arc to the primary router’s network (again), not the one my iphone is connected to. We then go through all the other devices, connecting them to the primary router’s network, not the new google wifi (that my iphone is still connected to).Been through this process 5 times now, restarting app, google wifi, etc., also tried a temporary
Hi, I’ve got a question regarding the Sonos port and how to connect it to my surround sound speaker system and receiver components. But before that I should explain what I am trying to achieve inside and outside of my home. In my living/dinning rooms I intend to install a single One Sl speaker in each room which is an open area. In my family room I intend to install an ARC sound bar and two One Sl speakers as surround speakers to my 4K LG TV with an existing blue ray player. On lower level in my playroom I have an existing 5.1 surround sound speakers along with two Yamaha speakers on zone 2 connected to an out going 15 year old receiver. I also have a 4K Vizio TV , a Fluance phono and a 4K blue ray player I plan to purchase. I am planning to upgrade to the Onkyo sr 6100 receiver and add Atmos speakers. I know I need to get a pre amp for the phono and a Sonos port for this system to work. This is where the question arises. I hope to play phono music inside and outside of my home at th
I have 2 amps on the same network and different rooms. When I turn on one TV , the other TV turn on too. The room are far so it’s not signal from remote control turning on 2 tv’s and if I turn of amps this issue don’t happen
I know this has been discussed earlier in general, but couldn’t find this specific detail mentioned, so: why not allow pairing Sub with Move with the limitation, that Move needs to be in it’s charging base. Idea here is obviously that the charging base would be in static location, and if you lift the Move from it’s charging base, it would automatically disconnect the Sub. And when placing back, it would automatically reconnect to Sub.This is the kind of smart audio I’d expect from Sonos.
