Hello all,I’m a lighting designer, and occasionally I do a/v network installs as an ancillary service. I recently got stung by building out a whole home audio system with Amps/architectural speakers with a few rooms paired with Sub gen3’s. The Amps were rackmount and wired to the network switch in an a/v closet FAR away from the rooms where the passive in-ceiling speakers and Sub were located. Sonos led me to believe that as long as I had healthy wifi in a room with a Sub, it could connect (via the local AP) to the Amp in the network closet no problem. I learned post install that this does not work as there is no network wifi connection for the Sub as it’s a proprietary Amp to Sub 5ghz connection. I’m still navigating a reasonable solution to that issue with the client and Sonos. My question is related to ensuring that any new installs are bullet proof. Can someone 100% confirm that if I have an AMP set up far away (outside the bounds of the wireless 5ghz connection) from a Sub
New build. Need help with in ceiling speaker placement for main living and kitchen area. This will be for music only. Do not intend to try and do a tv surround sound. Thanks.
Can an amp, with speakers connected, be used for both TV surround sound and music? I have installed a Sonos system in a home. There are 11 Sonos amps for music in several rooms/spaces, 3 Arc soundbars and 3 Subs (for the three TV-viewing areas). I’d like to set up the system to play music on the Amps when the TV’s aren’t on, but then switch them to TV sound when the TV’s are turned on. It seems this is possible, but I am not having any luck trying to set it up. Can someone offer assistance, please?
So I’ve had a longstanding issue with DTS on Sonos, where I can play DTS Blu Rays, but only if I turn off the ‘eARC’ of my TV. This is better than nothing, but frustrating as turning eARC off causes other issues with my setup.Sonos today told me that this is due to my Blu Rays outputting a form of DTS called ‘DTS 4’ which apparently Sonos don’t support. I’ve never been aware of DTS 4, and it seems all/most Blu Rays output DTS using that.Apparently the reason it works with eARC off is that my TV then downgrades DTS 4 to DTS, and Sonos plays it.But I really don’t understand why this is not supported as standard if it’s the only form of DTS on Blu Rays, and why there isn’t a way to just automatically downgrade it (without turning eARC off)? Does anyone know if Sonos are likely to add support for this soon?My setup:TV - LG B9 OLEDBlu Ray Player - Panasonic DP-UB820Sonos - Sonos Arc + One SLs

I’ve requested this of Sonos but I always get the standard reply we’ll look into this. Suppose it’ll ever happen?
My Sonos Assistant doesn't recognize my Apple Music Playlists. If I instruct it to “Play my Sia Playlist” or “Play my Apple Music Sia Playlist”, it just plays a variety of Sia music and not just those songs on my playlist. Help please. Thanks.
I purchased 3 days ago and the status still preparing to ship and I cannot cancel it. A company this size without a 24/7 support is ridiculous. They only are available Monday to Friday. I would never had bought any Sonos products if I only knew. I am extremely disappointed.
Recently purchased the Sub (Gen 3) and noticed that the plastic at the top of the sub seems to stick out on one side (most likely the serviceable side). I checked the store display which did not have this issue and also got a second Sub (Gen 3) which had the side sticking farther out than the first one. Just wondering if anyone else noticed this or has any info. Thanks Community!!!!
The Sonos Amp goes into ‘idle’ mode when it doesn’t detect an audio signal for more than 3 minutes. It’s a shame that the Amp doesn’t automatically wake up from idle mode when the TV it’s connected to is turned on. Every time you switch the TV on, and begin playing content, you miss the first 3 seconds of audio as you wait for the Amp to wake up. This problem also occurs when you pause whatever content you’re watching for more than 3 minutes - the Amp goes to idle mode, and then you miss the first 3 seconds of audio when you begin playing again. Every other audio receiver turns itself on when the TV is turned on, using HDMI CEC control. Surely the Amp could do the same? The Amp should wake up from idle when the TV is turned on, and stay woken up until the TV is turned off.
I recently purchased an LG G2 OLED TV (yet to be delivered\installed). My current set up in the Media Room is Arc, Sub, 2 Ones. Since the LG G2 will be flush against the wall, from an aesthetic perspective I will be moving the Arc to another room as it will make my skin crawl seeing the Arc sticking out from below the LG G2. I purchased two Sonos In-Wall Speakers and the Amp (yet to be delivered) to replace the Arc. 3 Questions belowIs anyone using the above configuration - two In-Wall, AMP, Sub and two Ones versus the Arc, Sub and 2 Ones and if so any significant difference?I plan to place the Amp in a closet near the TV which already has plugs, in wall HDMI cable, etc. However, it was recommended to place the AMP in a Legrand ONQ Cable Management Box which will be installed behind the TV to host cables, outlets and apple TV. I figured it will be easier for me to trouble shoot any issues if the AMP is in the closet and thus I don’t mind paying additional installation costs. Shoul
I have numerous Sonos products - playbars, subs, 1s, 5s - and several non-Sonos speakers connected through Sonos Connects. Have all been working fine for years. Lately, after starting system (TV or music) everything is fine for 10-15 mins, then the non-Sonos speakers develop a delay (stadium sounding echo). The Speakers are Bowers & Wilkens run through a Rotel RMB-1 Amp and a Sonos Connect on each speaker pair / channel. Any suggestions?
If you wish to know why your Sonos sound system keeps losing connection with your BT hub 2 The answer is pretty simple? How do I know. I tried every single possible configuration in order to resolve, with no effect, until I began to replace everything.I decided to purchased brand new Sonos SL play speakers at great expense, as mine were a few years old. Guess what! I had exactly the same connection issues.I disabled the 5ghz Wi-Fi frequency on the original BT Hub 2 router and consequently my Sonos speakers started working. Not exactly an ideal solution but still a bit flakeyI then bought a new unused BT hub 2 router on eBay. Updated the firmware to v0.31.00.10253-BTOnce setup, everything worked perfectly. No wi-fi or Sonos issues. Even with the 5ghz band enabled no wi-fin issues whatsoever.Plugged in my old BT hub2 . Yep most things worked as normal, but Sonos again started to dropped out. Swapped back to the new hub and then all fine,I can only deduce that BT hubs have an inherent d
Why is user behaviour for Sonos Radio not configurable?I do not want Sonos radio first in the result list when searching for music. This is so very annoying, especially as it seems to be an intentionally marketing decision rather than a technical issue.Best regardsTomas
Hi, I have about 200.000 music tracks stored on my Synology NAS.I've read that the limit of files for each library is 65.000 so a created 7 different libraries with about 30-40.000 tracks in each. The system completed the index for the 2 first libraries but don't go further. How can I solve this issue? Or is the TOTAL files limited to 65.000 for ALL the libraries together?Thank you very much for your help!
I am putting together a 5.1 surround system using Arc SL, Sonos One’s, and subwoofer. Since the One’s have microphones but the Arc SL does not, I understand that I can still use voice control--via Sonos voice, Alexa, or others. Is this correct? In other words, do I not need the Arc? I am not sure how to set this up. Also, how do I configure separate Sonos configurations? I want one for home theater (the 5.1 config mentioned above, and 4 other One’s for music throughout the house.
I created a Sonos Playlist from some of my Amazon music last year. When I go to play it, it skips tracks and there is a pop-up saying my Amazon account isn't authorized. I reauthorize and play something else for a while. When I go back later, 10 or 15 minutes, same problem. So I do the whole routine until I give up. That is like 5 or more times. I've had enough. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
ok, so i’m starting from zero. Going to buy a cd player and receiver, and i want to be able to stream music. My question is this: Do i need to buy a certain type of cd player and receiver so that i can then hook up a Sonos speaker? And do i need to buy bookshelf speakers as well, or will the Sonos speakers be enough?I’m looking at a Sonos port and a couple of the SL speakers.
Hi all,I’ve seen various topics about this , all with no clear answer, so I’ll try to spell my issue out simply and clearly.I have a Samsung Q70AA 65” tv, an Xbox Series X and a Sonos Beam gen 2.The tv is set to allow audio pass through and to allow Dolby atmos. The Xbox is connected via the 2.1 hdmi port. The settings are set to allow pass through and for Dolby atmos. The Sonos Beam is connected via the e-arc port of my tv, e-arc is set to on.Games in Dolby atmos have significant sync issues. Blu rays, tv and streaming apps do not. The Sonos app displays Dolby atmos when it should do. The tv dialog sync setting on the Sonos app makes no difference. The audio delay setting on the tv makes a slight difference but games in dolby atmos are still unplayable.I guess it’s an issue with the Series X? Has this been confirmed?I know I could turn Dolby atmos off for games but that defeats the point of me buying a Sonos beam with Dolby atmos.
Can I connect a Sonos 1 gen 2 speaker with a Sonos move
Hallo i’ve a couple on Sonos One (one and one sl). If i’am not wrong buying a Ray let me allow to stream sounds from pc (youtube, games etc). This Ray will also enhance my music listening experience or won’t add any enhancement?is there any other product that will really improve the listening experience in my room and let me also connect the PC?Or the best would be buying sub mini for the two ones and a dedicated one amp for pc?

Good morning. New to this forum.I have purchased a Beam 2 and hooked it up to my Sony Xr55a90j Works fine but with HD terrestrial channels e.g. itv, c4 and bbc HD because the sound format is different to standard def the volume is quieter. For normal about 30 works for me but change to an HD channel and have to increase to 40 at least. Is there any way round this? Also is there any way to power save the beam off. Ideally would be nice to switch it off and on with the Sony remoteThanks
Hi I have a beam gen1 and sub in my lounge,I’m thinking about upgrading to an arc but wondering if an arc and sub would be too much in a 16x12 room it will be connected to a Sony a84j tv with e arc Tia
