I’ve not heard of explicit ads being played on Sonos Radio before. Were you listening to one of our curated stations or were you listening to another radio station? If you were listening to a station that isn’t hosted by us, it’s hosted by TuneIn instead, where ads of their choosing will play.

Using Sonos Radio HD, you wont receive any ads listening to our curated stations, but you can still receive ads when listening to other radios stations.

If you did receive the ad when listening on one of our stations, would you let me know what station it was and I’ll check with our team if this is expected behavior.

Today I clicked on Sonos Radio, then on Rock Pantheon. After two numbers first an add for the education as transport officer, then again the add for Sinful.

I’ve had a talk with our team about Sonos Radio, and this is expected behavior, even on the curated stations.

The best way to get rid of radio ads on curated stations is to use Sonos Radio HD. However, I’ll be happy to mark this as a feature request, as I know some music services have the option to filter explicit content.

In my experience Sonos Radio is a fairly rich source of explicit material. It’s an adult choice, I chose to ignore Sonos Radio. Certainly, there other services with explicit materials, but they are usually labeled as such. 

As with Buzz we don’t want that kind of stuff playing in our home so Sonos Radio is not used.
