I must admit I don’t understand the Sonos/Apple Music interface. I can find music I want to play on Apple Music and it plays through the phone. I can add songs and albums to playlists. But when I choose Apple Music as the source in the Sonos app, often the playlists and songs I’ve added do not appear. What is the right “workflow” to use when using Apple Music as Sonos source?
i setup a sl1 system on my ipad using s2 app and when i go to set it up on my phone it asks me to go through the setup again which screws up the ipad setup
Using Sonos Beam 2So all audio to a Sonos speaker must go through the Sonos app, no exceptions. No Sonos app, the speaker makes no noise.Use the Sonos App to launch Pandora as a test to get some sound.Close Pandora and Sonos apps music keeps playing,Close all apps, speaker keeps playing. Turn off phone...speaker keeps playing.Uninstall Sonos App and still cannot turn off speaker.Turn on phone and start Pandora, Pandora says that another device is actively logged on my Pandora account. Music plays independently and simultaneously on both phone and Sonos speaker.Reinstall and start Sonos App and it will not connect to Beam 2 speaker, asks for GPS, WiFi and Bluetooth to be turned on, and still will not connect. Music keeps playing on speaker with no ability to control it from any device. Finally pull the power plug to stop the music and turn off the speaker since there is no power button? What is with the Sonos Beam 2? Never in my life have I had an application hijack an App and then I have
Because Sonos insists on closing questions to comments I will ask the question yet again despite the disturbing number of people who have or have had the same problem. The problem is that Sonos Roam is an atrocious piece of kit. When it decides to occasionally connect to our wifi network it is impossible to connect it to Bluetooth. I have read every question/comment/so-called solution in this forum to no avail. We have a fibre street connection, a wifi network that has operated for 15 years without fault. I can run/stream/connect every other device known to mankind to the network once and leave it to breathe. We have to reset the Sonos “network” every other week. I have to power down all the speakers. We have to reinstall Sonos on all our devices (all iPhone/iPad/Mac) and hope and pray that it will work. The Roam had never connected to Bluetooth. I can connect to any other Bluetooth device available. I can buy a $10 Bluetooth speaker from the warehouse down the road and connect to i
This speaker requires you to fully commit every facet of it's use through the Sonos App. No sound can come from the speaker that does not go through Sonos web services first. No exceptions. If there is any network problem with you, your ISP, your cell provider or Sonos, the speaker will be unusable, as it all must pass through the Sonos App.Was excited to get the Sonos Beam 2 in the mail, hooked it up to my TV……then…..Sonos happened.I'm forced to install a Sonos app and give Sonos every permission available (location, full name, email, network access, microphone access, phone access, device history access?). It’s just a speaker! WTF?!Forced to use Sonos app to use a speaker I just paid $500 for? Can’t play any audio from my phone to the speaker, no music, no radio, no podcast, and no other devices can connect. All must pass through the one and only Sonos app on the one phone entity with no other connection options permitted. Can’t connect directly through the Wi-Fi and there is no Bluet
Hi, I have a sub gen 3, but want to connect to two different speakers in two different rooms. one room is my arc and other room is move.can I connect separately at separate times or all at the same time?thanks
I got a new SL1 and can’t get it to work it goes through the setup in S1 app then I get a message SL1 is not compatible with your system you can either launch s1 app to manage your system or setup a new system in s2 app but it does not work in either
Can i use Sonos (amp with wall mount speaker set )wall mounted speakers as rear speaker when working with Beam or Arc sound bar WiFi attached to the amp? How does Sonos amp differentiate the 3 pairs of attachable line in speakers as front or back? Or are all pairs sent the same sound EQ? Also are there wall mounts for the Five Hifi speakers? Mod Edit: Combined multiple posts
Hi!I tried to move my Sonos One from one Wireless network to another. It ended up to complete mess I have reset the device multiple times. The app will find a new system and configure it, but it is not shown in the app. After the config the APP says that the system is not visible, please unplug and replug the electricity. After that the devices is completely lost I have tried to do the same for both IOS and Android (two different Android devices). I have recreated additional Sonos accounts, deleted app from the devices, tried to completely new devices with new account, with factory reset done to the device I have tried to different and separate wifi routers, three different wifis, wired and not wired- All ends up to same situation - the apps found new Sonos, configures it and the it still cannot connect to device or system is not visible in the appThe device is 3 months old so I am getting so frustrated with the piece of…. that I am going to return it to the store, if I cannot get it
I plan on using one amp and three speakers in my living room. Not three pairs just three speakers.what would be the proper configuration for the third speaker ?
Cannot get apple airplay to connect with a new sonos 1SL on my M1 Imac
AppsSonos apps are confusing. There are so many on the Apple store, I don’t know which one to use. This is extremely confusing and frustrating. How difficult is it to have ONE APP that controls all devices? How hard can that be? Every other company can do it. But you can’t. It’s absolutely ridiculous you have multiple apps that I have to first google the answer to figure out which app is the right one for my Sonos product.Sonos Beam ProblemSonos Beam has been garbage since day 1 with it’s difficult setup and delay in sound so the lips are never quite in sync with what is being said. Now it has randomly disconnected from the network this morning and refuses to reconnect. Nothing changed overnight. No power outages. Rest of devices on network work perfectly.I’ve tried the gold app and the Sonos2 app, and the Sonos1+2 app, and the ‘Sonos’ app. None of them recognize the Sonos Beam on my network. The router has 3 other devices hooked up and they work flawlessly.I am connecting Sonos Beam wi
I have a strange 1 as in my One SL has decided to stop connecting to my wi-fi after 3 months.wonder if anyone is kind enough to share their ideas - I am at a standstill.in no particular order :all my other devices can still connect to my wifi network...using same passwordI cant hard word to my router as it only has the one port - to receive although I have unplugged it.I have reset the Solo many times following Sonos requirements - I have enough time with the Sonos to know how to trouble shoot - reset and configure.in short I can get all the way through the set up = bluetooth connecting - audio confirmation and selecting my network - however when I enter the correct password the Solo won't accept the password and gives me an exclaimation mark reject.I can connect via Apple air but I want to use the Sonos ( latest version) app.I have tried connecting using n android devoice with the same resultsa grateful user awaits any ideas Andy
Do I need to put my Sonos inside for the winter?
Set Up.Two Play 5’s Gen 2 and Sub Gen 2 in my garden room (aka Cabin), which is 3m x 3m. Speakers at the front corners, sofa at the back with little in the way to affect sound. If I perform a Trueplay tune up the Right hand channel loses all its treble and goes quiet. The Left hand channel is fine. Turn off Trueplay and both channels are fine but the bass is booming and the sub almost unusable, which is why Trueplay was so good before and the room sounded excellent. The set up use to sound great until the 14.18 update. What have I tried…Factory reset all three devices Swapped over the Left and Right speakers Retuned with a different device Stood on one leg Faced with back to speakers (in case I had a blocked ear!!)Nothing works, it still sounds terrible with Trueplay on and the Right channel is all muffled.I was about to send one speaker for repair as it was as if the tweeters had failed. But factory reset and swapping them over in the room had the same effect after Trueplay… the r
Any idea why I can’t connect my Sonos 5 and amp? I have a turntable with line in to amp, it will play on all my Sonos speakers apart from the Sonos 5. All other speakers will connect to the Sonos 5, for example I can play the tv through Sonos 5. But just can’t get the amp and 5 to work together. I have factory reset everything and created a brand new home network, but still can’t get the two products to work together. Any suggestions would be welcome…
I bought a new Play 5 gen 2 in December 2019 with the idea that if I loved it, I would buy a second right away—I wanted stereo. I did love it and but almost immediately Sonos discontinued the model I had just bought, and the new 5 was designed not to pair with the Play 5 gen 2. I called and I wrote Sonos asking to return the unit so I could upgrade. They offered me a 15% credit instead. Sonos wouldn’t stand behind their sale and I was stuck. Then this week, two and a half years later I received a survey from Sonos. I told them what had happened and they set up a call. They never called. So I called them and after 40 minutes on hold they escalated the issue. All for naught, they just offered the 15% again. Sonos wasted my time and money.
I realize I am odd in that I do NOT enjoy using my I phone to control all functions of my two Sonos 5 speakers. If I receive a phone call, just turning down volume is a pain. If the phone is locked, going through facial recognition or entering a password, then scrolling to find the app just to turn down the volume is ridiculous. I just purchased a Denon AVR. I did not want the video part, but could not find just audio. My goal is to connect a CD player and use the receiver with my Sonos 5 speakers. Do I need even more equipment or can I use an RCA and connect a Sonos 5 to one of the INPUT ports (like the one for a turntable) on the receiver? Obviously none of the speaker ports work with Sonos.I am an old audiophile. I love the sound of Sonos 5, but want a work around to using my I phone as the remote.
Hello. I have two wired speakers which normally plus into the back of an amp. can get a receiver that receives wireless data from Sonia amp? I already have 4 wired ceiling speakers, arc and move wirelessly connected to amp. if so any recommendations? thanks
In my setup i use Sonos Beam connected to TV through HDMI ARC2x Sonos Five I only play music and are not really intrested in surround for movies. My issue is:I want to stream video from my iphone to my TV, but still want the sound to go to my Sonos speakers. I’ve tried to put Beam and Sonos Five in a group where the Five’s is surround. Problem is that the sound coming out from the Five’s is very low, because they acting like surround speakers.I want to be able to put Beam at 0, and Five at 100. If i use for example youtube app on smart tv, it works. But i want to be able to choose videos from iPhone or iPad for example when you have friends at home and want to play music videos and send the iPad around for people to search on it.Problem is if i use screen mirroring, the sound will not pass through to sonos, only to my tv-speakers.Will it work any better with ex an Apple TV connected to my TV? Any suggestions?
Hello,I had one medium and one high not working.Bass/lower and another high and medium ok.No visual culprit on the board. All power bus ok.My fix was to replace electrolytic capacitors ahead of the connector. In case it may help…
Hello,Since I could not access my 3 One speakers through the App, I decided to factory reset all speakers and also reset the app.But when I try to add the speakers again, it fails adding the speaker to my account. I have tried logging on to my account through a browser, and I can see all 3 speakers registered. So I guess I get the error in the app, because the speakers are already on my account. What to do? I can’t remove the speakers from my account.
I have the Sonos play. It has been sat high up on a shelf for years and I have recently come to use it and despite my best attempts, nothing. Can be found! I have always had a wired connection and have followed the app instructions to the letter at least 15 times and still nothing! The light has gone from orange and flashing to solid orange then flashing white and now solid white and yet still undiscovered! Any advice that I haven’t tried yet? Thanks in advance
Hello, I have been using 2 Play 1 speakers paired in a single room system, using the S1 controller. It has worked for quite a long time. I have recently bought an LG C2 TV and would like to add a beam Gen 2 to the TV for Dolby Atmos and also use it as a separate room in the Sonos system. I have seen lots of questions about configuring Play 1s as surround speakers, I don’t want to do that I want the Beam as a TV speaker and also as SONOS room speaker. I think it is possible if I use the S2 controller - is that correct ? It looks like one option is to have two separate Systems but I would rather have just one if possible.
I updated my BT Hub 1 to a BT Hub 2 today. I cannot upgrade the SONOS system to work. I have 4 speakers, 2 x Sonos One set up as Living Room and 2 x Sonos PLAY:1 as Kitchen. I have seen the topic related to connection issues with the BT Smart Hub 2 from April 2021, but have checked the firmware level and it is V0.31.00.10253-BT, so well up from the problematic firmware.I did manage to get the two Sonos One’s set up, but the 2 x PLAY:1’s arent having any of it. The SONOS app only recognises one of the speakers and wont upgrade either. Is it possible to do a clean install? I did remove and reinstall the app, but the config still seems to be present.
