Quick question To start, I am not overly technical. I’ve never had problems with the Sonos products or app or speakers in 10 years! BUT Since upgrading to the Australian NBN high speed internet I am experiencing constant drop outs / lag in sound and control on a iPhone 13, along with the speakers all the time. Reinstalling the app works 90% of the time, but I have to do it a couple of times a week. • I have 260 mbps average wifi speed• I like to play 8 grouped speakers at once (usually)• Have tried wired and WiFi networks, same problem either way ( and changing channels) What am I missing?
Right or Wrong? Does connecting Gen1 Play 5's together via Cat 5 actually improve the transfer of data? Note, not connected to the router, just in a bank together. I'm guessing that if they are connected via Cat 5 then one of the 4 acts as the receiver that talks to Sonos Bridge on WiFi? Configuration below... Room (1) Router > Cat 5 > Sonos Bridge Gen 1 Room (2) Sonos Play 5 Gen 1 x 4, all connected to each other via Cat 5 Cable
TL;DR: My Sonos One (Gen 2) speakers keep cutting out for 5-10 seconds every hour or so since I’ve moved my router. My Play:5, which I’m using for Line-in does not cut out, and keeps functioning all the time. Check Photos. My system is a Play:5 (gen 1) and two Sonos One (Gen 2). I’m using the line-in on the Play:5 to use the One’s as PC/TV speakers. They sound great and used to work perfectly, but I’ve moved my router and now there are issues. This is what I used to have. Blue lines are Wi-Fi/Sonosnet, Red lines are wired through TP-Link Powerline Adapters: My internet situation changed so I had to move my router to a different corner of the living room/kitchen. I tried this set-up first, but when I started experiencing the audio issues, I plugged the Play:5 in to the router through TP-Link Powerline adapters: Currently, I’m using Sonosnet like this. I still get the cut outs. I’ve tried rebooting everything in the right order to fix IP conflicts, I’ve enabled compress
Hi Everyone. I’m hoping someone can help with an annoying issues with my music playback. I use Windows 11 pc and iTunes to play music to all my Sonos Speakers. Previously. No issues streaming to a Play 5, Sub, 4 x ones and 2 x Roams. Perfect playback. Lately I’ve been having drop outs. Only for a second but increasing in frequency lately. I’ve reset all speakers. All updates applied. Put them all on the 2.4ghz band. Disabled the 5ghz band in case it was interfering - made no difference. I’ve tried them with just one speaker at a time in the hope one speaker was interfering with the network. Tried several different channels on the router. Tried the different Sonos Net Channels 1, 6, 11Connected a One to the router to create a Sonos net. That didn’t resolve the issue. Bought a Boost - that didn’t resolve the issue. Bought a new modem / router - that didn’t resolve the issue. Nothing solves the issue. Playing music stored on my phone/iPad plays back perfectly. Tried other windows 11 pc bu
HIIs it possible to connect my Mac to Beam Gen 2 via HDMI, if so what settings do I need. RegardsGary
I am having problems with an update on my "Living Room" which is a Sonos Beam plus 2x Play1 as surround sound speakers. But the update does not go through. Any ideas?
We have one move, two paired Sonos One speakers, and two One speakers not paired (different rooms). they do not seem to be all synchronized, and I am looking for the easiest fix. it seems like some of the speakers are just one beat ahead, or behind the other ones. This is a fairly new thing that’s going on.we play music through Spotify, Apple Music, and tune in radio generally.
Hello I’ve just set up my arc Sonos and sound only goes to 100 but it doesn’t seem as loud as it was in Costco. How can I get the sound higher ?
Hello. I recently purchased two One SL speakers. They worked great for about a month or so and now one of them works great but if I try to use them both…… it shuts the music on them both off. if I try to use the one in my kitchen solo, works just fine if I try to use the one in my office, it shuts the music off. so that one seems to be the issue. I can’t figure out what to trouble shoot at this point
My play 1s are not connecting I have restarted my router and switched them on and off
I am rebooting my router 2 x a week minimum to find the speakers. Never needs an update, just a pos. Anyone know how to make this more reliable?
Hello, after a few happy weeks without any problems, one of my Sonos One SL speakers was not visible in the sonos app any more and I couldn’t use it. When i bought it, I set it up with wifi, without any problems. The speaker is however working with a lan cable . It is my second Sonos One SL. The first one is 2 rooms away and connected via lan cable. I tried a lot of things, but nothing seems to work:deactivating my 5Ghz wifi and factory reset - re-add I tried to add the speaker new to my system around a dozen times, with any help regarding reboot, factory reset that the sonos app was offering me I run the new “not connected, do you want to solve the problem now” dialog in the sonos app around half a dozen timesI have really no idea what I can do anymore. Running lan cables is unfortunately not an option. Any help is a lot appreciated.
I had a Sonos One on my account but it was at my office on a different network. Just moved it back home and I’m trying to add it back into the system here for my wife’s use but it can’t be added to my system. Fails every time I try.My suspicion is that since the device with this serial number is already in my account it can’t be added as a new device, but I can’t figure out how to get rid of it. I can see the old incarnation on my account when I log into the website but I don’t see it when I go into my system on the S2 app installed on my phone.Ideas?
Hello,When I play from the sonos app on either iOS or OSX I frequently experience “Unable to play…” problems AND syncing issue between multiple speakers that are physically located in either the same room or different room. It appears to be less problematic if I play streams directly from the Tidal app on iOS and connect to speaker in that manner. This has become progressively more of an issue over the last 3-6 months. All the apps are up to date as are the speaker firmware.Any ideas?Thank you in advance.Sam
If connected to wi-fi, is the Sonos Five identifiable by Google Home? Can it be added to a Google Home speaker group? What about the Sub?
i have several sonos speakers ..is it possible to have some of the speakers wireless and some of them wired ..on the same systemthanks
Puedo hacer un par estéreo entre sonos play 1 y sonos one?Gracias
My music just suddenly stopped playing. Said Boost not connected. Problem is, I don't have a boost on my system. Ran diagnostics and said all speakers connected and good to go, but this pesky "boost not connected" message keeps showing up. Advice?
I need to know if what I was told by a Sonos support person is true before I blow up. Is it true that if you downgrade a Sonos One SL Series 2 to Series 1 and then upgrade it back to Series 2, you cannot downgrade it again to Series 1? My brother asked me to help him add a series 2 speaker to his mixed series 1 and 2 system. When atttempting to I fired up the Series 2 app to downgrade the speaker after reseting it to factory settings. Green light flashing. The Sonos app said “you have to uograde before continuing”. Hit the upgrade button and it upgraded all of his speakers possible to Series 2. Well when trying downgrade them back and get this thing going, it would recognize the speakers as available to downgrade. Support said “Oh, once you downgrade once you can’;t do it again. I have made my brother’s system a mess if this is the case…. Thoughts?
Guys.I am panicking over here.My old Sonos Play1 decided suddenly today to start playing only mid-range and low-range (bass) sounds.Everything I play will sound without trebble.I have tried PowerOFF/PowerON.Tried resetting by pulling power cable and plugging back in while holding Playbutton at the top. And then go through "Adding new product" setup.I even tried connecting it to cable instead of wifi. And also played multiple sources.... from internet and music on NAS.It didnt get hit or fell down.It was just standing on top of my clothing closet all the time. No sunlight or heat there. What else can I do?Did it break down just like that?!?
Please help. I have a R7350 Nighthawk system with download speed 411.12 Mbps & upload 22.13 Mbps. I have (2) Sonos one SL. The problem is after playing for an hour the music stops. The light on the top of the speaker is white. I have made about 10 calls when submitting diagnostic code. At first I was told to contact my network provider . Changed channel setting still no difference. All speakers show on my network & are on 2.4 GHZ. speakers are about 15-20 feet from router open floor plan. Not to sure what to do at this point. Any assistance would be appreciated. Extremely frustrating when you call and it like they are reading off the same que card. The latest was told to delete everything and reinstall ...yup same result….Please help!!
I have s medium sized 3 bed semi in the London suburbs with business broadband (300mb) from BT with a BT Hub 2. There are dozens of smart home devices on the wifi, plus a couple of phones/ipads. PS4, TV and SKYQ are wired to the the router (SKYQ multiroom which I think creates it’s own network) as well as two high end PCs. There are occasional wifi visitors.I currently use Alexa devices of various types in all rooms for Multi-Room-Music. It is not great but gets by mostly. It is steadily getting worse with Spotify /Radio drop outs and white noise. Resetting is a pain with power cycles, router restarts etc….then all is well for a while but problems inevitably return. Amazon have not been much help. (I found that MRM from Alexa does not work well with the BT discs and had to disconnect them)So I am considering a SONOS system but looking on this forum I am a little concerned that I will just swap my current issues for new ones. I am pretty tech savvy but my wife isn’t an I want something
When playing music on Spotify, the left speaker occationally drops playing for 1-2 seconds. This problem is not present when playing from other sources. Also playing spotify on other devices as bluetooth works just fine. Diagnostic number, if it is helpfull: 857151965
