To hopefully fix my dropout situation (also have a turntable going into Sonos Connect and all the problems that go along with that), I would like to run ethernet cables under my floor so I can wire the Connect, a single Sinfonisk bookshelf speaker, a single Play:1 speaker, a stereo pair of Play:1s, and a stereo pair of Sinfonisk lamps. The trouble is, this would presumably require a total of four ethernet ports, and my router only has three available. If I plug one of them into my modem (in router mode, of course), would that still work in the same way?
*Problem 1*So shop. It just disappeared so I have reset the Sonos system. I have put my email in. Then I try and add system. The Sonos comes up. It is a Sonos 1. 2 buttons on top (on/off & volume). I click connect. It then does the tuning. At the end it says about connecting it to what I assume is the internet. It asks for a password. I put the Internet password in and it fails and says use an Ethernet cable. *Problem 2 - AirBnB*We have 4 systems. I have connected one to my Sonos system. One is connected to a guests as they obviously must have done it first. One I haven’t tried and one which won’t connect at all but will on Bluetooth. How do I set this up? And then, once set up, how do people easily use this when they use the house. Baring in mind we could have 8 different sets of guest in a given month.
Hello,I’ve tried to connect via Bluetooth my two (stereo-paired) Era 100 to a Samsung TV with no luck.I’ve followed these instructions: https://support.sonos.com/en-us/article/pair-sonos-era-100-with-bluetoothand in fact I can create a bluetooth connection with each one of the speakers, but none of these two connection reproduces the TV audio. Silence everywhere. Is this a bug or, doh, a (missing) feature?Would a line-in adapter connected to one of the Eras solve this issue, i.e. would the audio be stereo in that case?
Hello. I have just attempted to set up my new Sonos beam (generation 2) to my existing 2 generation 1 speakers only to find out they unfortunately can’t be used together. My dad has a pretty solid Sonos collection he’s now had for a bit over a decade (6 amps, Sonos play 5 and a couple of ones) so I was wondering if there ever comes a time where he has to replace one of them, will he be able to? If that’s the case it’s a bit unfortunate how all the gen 1’s are now virtually obsolete.
I bought the Ikea Symfonisk bookshelf speaker a year ago and have had nothing but problems. It has truly turned me off from buying any Sonos products in the future. It will connect sporadically to Wifi using the SONOS app. Once it connects, if the power happens to go off it will not reconnect to Wifi despite me resetting the entire unit and reinstalling and resetting the Sonos app. I have even tried connecting using Ethernet cable - no change. I always thought Sonos was a high-end reliable brand. How can they put these substandard products in the market? I have tried contacting Sonos support multiple times but they have been of zero help. Has anyone had the same issue with this product and successfully resolve it? Thanks
I have one playbar, and 02 of each play1, play3 and play5. All products first generations except for palybar3. not one speaker is connecting. I ve probably made things worse by rebooting all speakers to factory settings. any advice?
no volume with amazon prime videonetflix works fine
On my dual band router all of my Sonos speakers are connected to the 2.4 gigahertz channel. If I'm logged in through the 5 gigahertz channel on my phone I cannot see my speakers through the Sonos app. On my previous modem it didn't matter which Channel I logged into. The Wi-Fi Channel shouldn't matter as long as the item is connected to my router one way or the other. For some reason that is not working on my new router. Any suggestions or settings I need to change in my router?
Hi, we have recently installed Sonos connect across our house. Decided to go with Sonos 1 used units as the cost was 1/5 of new. It works like a charm so very pleased to-date. We are about to venture into the garden, and we have a pair of Sonance Mariner 86 speakers - already purchased. 2 Questions pls:Do we need to run speaker cable from the house? Or should we try and locate an amp outside somehow? Not sure about frost resistance… We have two patios in our garden, and 1 pair of speakers. Would we be best splitting these (1 speaker each), or install on 1 patio only… Thoughts and advice much appreciated.Steve
I won a Sonos Play-5 at an event at an electronics store. It is new in the box. I listed it on a local marketplace, thinking it was a Play-5 1 due to the picture on the box. A guy wants to buy it and asked me for the serial number, which I gave him. I believe he thinks it is a later model. The serial number begins with 1504. Is this a Generation 1? He told me he bought a Gen 1 from someone else and it did not mesh with the system he has. I don’t know anything about these speakers!
I have ONE SL, ONE A100, and Beam Soundbar A100. Just recently changed ISP and router to Vodafone which has the latest WiFi 6E.Beam has connected to wifi but both ONEs do not.Have tried going through the setup routine several times. Something is happening because the lights on the units change to red then flashing white then solid white, but always fails (says try again later).Have also tried the update wifi procedure but that also fails.
Sonos Technical say my Vodafone router is incompatible with my Sonos system. I had the same problem with Virgin Media router. Anyone else with a 1000 pounds of kit useless.what can I do?
Hello… I’m about to receive a pair of Fives to replace my Play 1s (also have Sub and Playbar). We listen to music as well as watch movies with this system and my questions are: If I set the Fives as Surrounds, do they “have” to be positioned vertically AND when not watching movies, will music sound as good in Surround mode as it would as Stereo Pairs?
I recently purchased 10 Sonos Five, 10 Sonos Subs, one Port, and one Boost to configure as a multi-room setup and PA system. However, I am encountering connection errors whenever I try to group all the speakers or play audio through them. I often need to try 2-3 times before I can successfully connect all the speakers. Additionally, when trying to change tracks through the Sonos app, it takes a while to update or sometimes doesn't change at all, requiring me to try again later. I have connected the Port, Boost, and one Five speaker directly to the LAN. Changing track thru Spotify app is smooth. Can you please assist me in fixing this issue?
I have two Play 5 (GEN 2) set up as a stereo pair sitting on Atacama Moseco 6 speaker stands. Up until now, I’ve been very happy with the sound with no need to use trueplay or the equalizer. The other week, I thought I would test trueplay after reading many reviews to see if it actually made any difference. The result wasn’t to my liking so I disabled this setting but now find the sound lacks any oomph or character. The wife even noticed the difference describing it as ‘insipid’.To get close to the fulsome sound I have been used to, I am now using the loudness setting but dialling down the treble setting. Not sure if this has anything to do with the latest software update, I’ve seen a few posts on similar themed issues. Thinking of doing a factory reset but wanted to post in case anyone has any other suggestions?

Since adding a Roam to my system some of my speakers will intermittently stop playing even though the app recognises the speaker and says it is currently playing. Then after 5 or so minutes it just start playing again. What should I do? Where do I start to troubleshoot? The wifi in my apartment is great so no issues with connection
does anyone know how tall the speaker stands go for the 5?
I’m on my second Sonos roam, after sonos changed the first as it just refused to connect even after all of the diagnostics done. Now the second one worked out of the box but a few months later now dosent connect again. I love the Sonos sound but how can a company produce a speaker that is so complicated to connect. I have many other Bluetooth speakers which are so much cheaper and connect every time it just makes no sense. This is me frustrated again having taken my speaker on holiday for it not to work. I will just go and buy a 50 euro JBL that works so easy
Good day all,My set up is Apple Music running through the Sonos App on my iPhone to a Sonos Arc (HDMI connection to my TV and wired broadband connection to my router ) with 2 x Sonos one’s SL set up as surrounds ( music playback on full setting ). I am enjoying the quality of Apple Music spatial audio!I read somewhere that the Sonos app pulls digital music files direct from Apples server. Where does the digital to analogue conversion take place? Does the Sonos ARC and One SLs have a built in DACs ?Thank you.Karl
Thanks for any help. I have a sonos play 3 that I want to use in a kitchen area. I also have two non-sonos ceiling speakers in this area, that I wish to play at the same time as the sonos 3. Are you able to tell me what I need to make this work. Could I use a sonos Gen 1 amp? Do I need anything else. Thanks for taking a read!
This morning, around 09:15-09:30 my Sonos One SL speakers started playing music very loud No idea how it started as the alarm is not set for today nor the timeframe it came on Don’t know who or how started? I’ve sent diagnostic report 783525074 if that may help? Thanks
I have spend a fortune buying all kind of sonos speakers, subwoofers, amplifiers but finally I just realize I made a big mistake believing this company cared about customers as well as the way the speakers have to be set up.Maybe this company does not realize that we are not sound or Wifi engineers… and we don’t have this much time to read these never ending lists of advices to resolve all the never ending issues…I will go back to wired system (cables) and forget all these SonoS headache for good.Best to all of you and good luck with Sonos.
My sonos One SL continually loses connections. They been in the same spot and setup and have worked fine for over a year. Indicator light just turns green randomly and I get error in app (Beam+?+?+?) when I reconnect it works then a few days later Does the same thing. 2044042842. System diagnostic number.
