I have 2 sonos One, the have to play in 2 different offices - but as 2 mono devices.because if I put them in stereo mode, when turning up the volume on one device automatically turns up the volume on the other.therefore I need them to be 2 seperate units - but playing the same playlist..how is that possible ?
Is there a network parameter that should be specified to keep Sonos Connects from causing network speed loss on my network? Whenever I connect a Sonos Connect or Connect:Amp to my ethernet switch anything else connected to that switch sees a drop in network speed. Using Speedtest it drops from 300+MBS to < 10MBS. I have a Verizon router to a Unifi USW24POE, switch to a Unifi Flex Mini switch to Sonos, A laptop connected to the same Flex Mini will see speed drops as mentioned above. I see the same results using a Linksys switch at the end as well. Connecting the laptop to the second port on the Sonos equipment produces the same results. I conduct the same test with a ZP80 and I do not see the same results.
Why can't the sonos era 300 take line level in from a TV headphone output? If it is a line level in for a line source say a laptop output. Can it be driven from line out from a Samsung TV.Would the dolby atmos functions work as a psdue upmix from stereo to surround sound. Thanks
Hello everyone,My installation is composed of:2X play bar2X SUB2X Play 33X One1X One SLall speakers are connected to an ethernet cable except 1X ONEsince a few days the music did not stop cutting then it is my complete network of the house which did not function any more.At first I tried to reset my wifi antennas but nothing worked. However I unplugged the cable that goes to my netgear where all the sound systems are connected and the network works.I test 1 by 1 which speakers are the problem and I discover that my playbar and my sub in the living room drop the network as soon as it is plugged in.Strange that it's two devices that do this .So I reset the two elements the addition goes very well everything works wireless but as soon as I plug the ethernet cable no network anywhere.I test my cable with a pc and they work perfectly.I don't know what to do anymoreIt seems like a conflict of ip when I plug them in.I'm not sure what to do, but I'm sure I can help.Translated with www.DeepL.com
I have an existing sonos 5 speaker that connected easily and I recently purchased a second sonos 5 for the same room. I have not had any luck trying to “add a product”. I have disconnected the new speaker and reconnected to see if I could add that product — no luck. I then tried disconnecting and reconnecting the router — no luck adding the product. I have also tried to disconnect the old sonos 5 and adding the new product — no luck there as well. I am adding the product with my iPhone 13 and I have turned it off and restated that (thinking that may be an issue) — no luck adding the product. Any more ideas how I can get this going?? Thanks!
I integrated the itunes library into my SONOS app and everything works fine both on Wifi and Bluetooth. However, if I just want to play music directly from my itunes app to the Sonos Move over wifi it does not work?? Bluetooth works fine. I guess there is no way to map the direct itunes music from the itunes app to the Sonos move.
My sub will not stay connected, when I try to fix it I need to "unplug the router" and make it reconnect, I have no issue with anything else staying connected to the WiFi.
Hi. I currently use my Sonos AMP to power speakers that are located on my deck. Due to the hardwired speakers the amp is located about 40feet from the deck. I recently bought a mini sub to place on the deck to supplement wired outdoor speakers. The mini doesn’t provide any audio when used on the deck. It connects to the amp but won’t play. If I bring the mini sub inside (closer to the AMP) then it works. I noticed that all my Sonos gear works on WM1 except the mini sub which is on WM2. I think that means it’s acting as a surround device for the amp and is getting its signal directly from the amp on wifi. Maybe the mini is too far from the amp. The mini works fine with Sonos One speakers all over the house. When added to the room with the Sonos One the mini works on WM1 like everything else. Does this sound like I’m on the right track? Can I cause the mini to work with the AMP on WM1 like it does with the sonos one speakers? Tomorrow I can call support but I’d like to figure it ou
Does anybody know if I can connect a Denon D100 system to my SONOS 5 line in to allow use of the turntable, CD player and cassette?
Help wanted: I have a Sonos playbar en two Sonos one in my living room. I’ve bought a Sonos roam. I want to use the Roam independent from the other speakers with Google Home. So if I say play music on my Sonos Roam, which I’ve give the name RADIO, I doesn’t want that that the other speakers react. In GH I’ve made a routine for the roam but I can’t access in that routine that the roam has to react.Anyone an idea?
I bought a pair of Sonos Ones in September 2020 and they have been on a shelf, working flawlessly, until a few days ago. I opened the Sonos app on my Apple iPhone to play some music and the app reported that it could not find the speakers. There had been no network changes to the WiFi network they connected to and other devices (including the iPhone) were still connecting to the WiFi network fine. Following the prompts on the iPhone app to reconnect the speakers to the network (using a Bluetooth connection between the phone and the speakers) progressed well until after the WiFi network password was entered, after which the iPhone app immediately reported that the Sonos One failed to connect the network. Both speakers behaved exactly the same. I tried factory reset (holding down the connect button while powering on the speaker), but the result is the same. I moved both speakers off the shelf to my desk where I have wired ethernet and tried using a wired connection on one of the speak
one Symfonisk ikea connected via wifi stop and start playing music randomly... the other one (connected via ethernet keep playing without problems).
Can I use existing speaker wire for in ceiling speakers? I want to replace my old sound system
Just lost another Sonos speaker yesterday. A Sonos One just under 2 years old. Died while playing for no apparent reason. Lost a 3.5 year old Sonos:3 a couple years ago. I wish I would have known about the garbage Sonos quality when it comes to longevity of these units before investing in the them in my home theatre room. Total crap.
I was checking my Roam battery percentage and it was looking very nice after 2-3 hours of playing. But when checking at the top, it seemed the percentage shows a different value. Seems like a bug. Not sure if this is where I should report this but I could not find any “report bug” buttons.
To hopefully fix my dropout situation (also have a turntable going into Sonos Connect and all the problems that go along with that), I would like to run ethernet cables under my floor so I can wire the Connect, a single Sinfonisk bookshelf speaker, a single Play:1 speaker, a stereo pair of Play:1s, and a stereo pair of Sinfonisk lamps. The trouble is, this would presumably require a total of four ethernet ports, and my router only has three available. If I plug one of them into my modem (in router mode, of course), would that still work in the same way?
*Problem 1*So shop. It just disappeared so I have reset the Sonos system. I have put my email in. Then I try and add system. The Sonos comes up. It is a Sonos 1. 2 buttons on top (on/off & volume). I click connect. It then does the tuning. At the end it says about connecting it to what I assume is the internet. It asks for a password. I put the Internet password in and it fails and says use an Ethernet cable. *Problem 2 - AirBnB*We have 4 systems. I have connected one to my Sonos system. One is connected to a guests as they obviously must have done it first. One I haven’t tried and one which won’t connect at all but will on Bluetooth. How do I set this up? And then, once set up, how do people easily use this when they use the house. Baring in mind we could have 8 different sets of guest in a given month.
Hello,I’ve tried to connect via Bluetooth my two (stereo-paired) Era 100 to a Samsung TV with no luck.I’ve followed these instructions: https://support.sonos.com/en-us/article/pair-sonos-era-100-with-bluetoothand in fact I can create a bluetooth connection with each one of the speakers, but none of these two connection reproduces the TV audio. Silence everywhere. Is this a bug or, doh, a (missing) feature?Would a line-in adapter connected to one of the Eras solve this issue, i.e. would the audio be stereo in that case?
Hello. I have just attempted to set up my new Sonos beam (generation 2) to my existing 2 generation 1 speakers only to find out they unfortunately can’t be used together. My dad has a pretty solid Sonos collection he’s now had for a bit over a decade (6 amps, Sonos play 5 and a couple of ones) so I was wondering if there ever comes a time where he has to replace one of them, will he be able to? If that’s the case it’s a bit unfortunate how all the gen 1’s are now virtually obsolete.
I bought the Ikea Symfonisk bookshelf speaker a year ago and have had nothing but problems. It has truly turned me off from buying any Sonos products in the future. It will connect sporadically to Wifi using the SONOS app. Once it connects, if the power happens to go off it will not reconnect to Wifi despite me resetting the entire unit and reinstalling and resetting the Sonos app. I have even tried connecting using Ethernet cable - no change. I always thought Sonos was a high-end reliable brand. How can they put these substandard products in the market? I have tried contacting Sonos support multiple times but they have been of zero help. Has anyone had the same issue with this product and successfully resolve it? Thanks
I have one playbar, and 02 of each play1, play3 and play5. All products first generations except for palybar3. not one speaker is connecting. I ve probably made things worse by rebooting all speakers to factory settings. any advice?
no volume with amazon prime videonetflix works fine
On my dual band router all of my Sonos speakers are connected to the 2.4 gigahertz channel. If I'm logged in through the 5 gigahertz channel on my phone I cannot see my speakers through the Sonos app. On my previous modem it didn't matter which Channel I logged into. The Wi-Fi Channel shouldn't matter as long as the item is connected to my router one way or the other. For some reason that is not working on my new router. Any suggestions or settings I need to change in my router?
Hi, we have recently installed Sonos connect across our house. Decided to go with Sonos 1 used units as the cost was 1/5 of new. It works like a charm so very pleased to-date. We are about to venture into the garden, and we have a pair of Sonance Mariner 86 speakers - already purchased. 2 Questions pls:Do we need to run speaker cable from the house? Or should we try and locate an amp outside somehow? Not sure about frost resistance… We have two patios in our garden, and 1 pair of speakers. Would we be best splitting these (1 speaker each), or install on 1 patio only… Thoughts and advice much appreciated.Steve
I won a Sonos Play-5 at an event at an electronics store. It is new in the box. I listed it on a local marketplace, thinking it was a Play-5 1 due to the picture on the box. A guy wants to buy it and asked me for the serial number, which I gave him. I believe he thinks it is a later model. The serial number begins with 1504. Is this a Generation 1? He told me he bought a Gen 1 from someone else and it did not mesh with the system he has. I don’t know anything about these speakers!
