System requires sonos bridge to be tethered to router. When it was unplugged & then plugged back, app can no longer detect my system (4 play 5s, sub, 2 connects for traditional systems).
I recently upgraded my Comcast router. Sonos no longer works. Sonos app says I need to split my router signal. Question. Is this need to split particular to older models or is it an issue for all products? Also, does splitting my signal slow or weaken my WiFi, in general?
Hi,I’ve got the following SONOS speakers at home:1x Play:3 (ethernet)2x Play:1 (paired) (wireless)1x Beam Gen 1 (ethernet)1x Roam (wireless)These are all on static leases on my router. I’ve noticed that recently the Play:3 drops sound periodically, I usually have this paird with the Play:1s and this also drops sound when paired. When I tried to factory reset the Play:3 or unplug it I find that it takes a bit of effort to get it back into the system. Any thoughts on whether this might be a sign that it has developed a fault? I initially had it wireless and had these issues so I figured I would try it via ethernet but am now finding that this too is seeing the same issues. The problems seem to resolve themselves for a while if I power cycle the speaker.Am I right in thinking that the speakers are running their own mesh network? I have a Unifi access point but only see the Beam on there, maybe it’s too far away from the other speakers. Any ideas? Do I need to replace the Play:3? Thanks
I am experiencing issues with my Play:3 speakers - they keep dropping out after they’ve been running/ connected for a few hours. The only solution seems to be to power cycle the speaker and it’s ok again for a while. My system includes 2 Play:1s, 4 Play:3s and 1 Sonos Playbase.I have tried everything (rebooting my router, factory resetting all my speakers, reserving (fixing) the IP addresses of all speakers, trying different music sources). Always the same result - the Play:3 speakers start dropping out intermittently at first and then permanently off. Until I switch them off and then on again (power cycle). Then they work ok again for a few hours. The Play:1s and the SoundBase don’t seem to be affected. It seems like it might be a memory issue (cache not emptying?) and it only started happening in the last couple of months - previously everything worked perfectly - so I’m wondering if a Sonos update has caused all this? My system is running Sonos S2 and has been perfect previously, so
Just now at 430am, the sonos speakers on the other side of the house turned their volume to max. The sonos speaker in my room did not. I was able to turned them down after fumbling around in a half sleep state. It's happened once before. I only use TuneIn and Youtube Music on the sonos app, and those two were set to Tunein. And the speakers are all Sonos Ones. Is there anyway to stop this from occurring again? Thank you for any suggestions.
I recently took advantage of the upgrade offer. Do I need to return my old product to Sonos? The instructions were not clear on what to do w my old product.
Hello,I plan to buy multiroom audio system, but I am a novice in this area. Because the final project (several rooms) is going to take a significant budget, I would like to try it first with something cheap (Play:1 speaker).I know that it is not a new model, so I wonder what kind of limitations I can expect - does the new application on Android will work? Do they still pull firmware upgrades for the speaker? Something else? Thanks in advance!
Hi, I have a Sonos One SL which has decided to stop working and is unable to connect to the WiFi. For the last 2 hours I gave gone through the factory resetting, listening to it chime with no connection. Final messages vary from there is a router issue and is not compatible with 5G. I haven’t changed internet providers so not sure what has happened. Also error 1001 was displayed when clicking on options! I have a Sonos Player 1 which works fine and I’ve checked the WiFi connection on Sonos and it says good! Any ideas or what the problem is and how to solve it. Thanks from a very frustrated user!!
Hi everyone, I have a massed a bunch of speakers mainly SL1’s and a few ARC’s and subs. My question is naming the speakers and rooms. I have a room say “Garage” and in it is 4 SL1’s one each corner of the room and a sub and a arc. How would you go about naming them all and setting up the room? I’m just getting confused a bit on the differences of the hierarchy. Then the subs seem to disappear from the main app is that because it’s already added to the room? Thanks in advance for any guidance.
Here is my issue: I have a Sonos system with 9 speakers. I have two active wifis: Wifi A and wifi B. The system/speakers are connected to wifi A but I would like to connect them to wifi B. How to do this? How to the change the wifi for all speakers / system?I managed to switch a few speakers to wifi B by going to the network settings in S2 app but it is not working for all speakers. There is a help: https://support.sonos.com/en/article/connect-sonos-to-a-new-router-or-wi-fi-network However this is not working because I am not getting the message: Unable to connect… because all my speakers are connect to some wifi. Also if I connect my Android phone to wifi B and try to add speakers to my system with S2 app, the app is not finding the speakers.
hi there.I have a mixture of devices including older models of one, three and five. Also a sound bar. There are also some newer one’s.I have been avoiding upgrading as I am not sure all will continue to work as they do today.I get the pop up all the time, but ignore.BBC sounds has today stoped working and I am being told Must I upgrade and will my devices still work…any help appreciated, as they cost a lot of money and I don’t want to have to start to replace, when they are working perfectly.thanks in advance
Hi looking for some help with my playbar. All has been working fine for the whole time I’ve owned it, but this week I started to have problems. In my living room I have a playbar with two play1’s as surround speakers. They all stopped working and were not connecting to the app. The speakers in other rooms were not affected and continued to be useable. I managed to reset both the play1’s and add them back without a problem, but the playbar won’t reset or connect. The white light come on the playbar as soon as you plug it in, and then nothing else. I tried to contact the online help support, but they kept going around in circles saying hold the play/pause button when connecting power. I kept telling them I’ve done that 100 times and it won’t reset. I’ve looked at my router to see if it was connecting or has an ip address, but it was showing as not connected. I deleted it off the router incase it would sort out a ip problem and would connect again, but so far nothing. does anyone have any
I am using the Sonos App on and XR10 iPhone with all software up to date for both the phone and the app. I follow the initial directions to set up my move speaker, The speaker and the phone see each other and connect, the app then says lets connect to my WiFi network. It is the correct one and I confirm it is the same one my phone is logged into. It asks me for the password. I type it in. After that it takes a few minutes and then I see the message that the set up was successful but it may not show on my system menu (well considering my system menu is grey and I can’t get to it no great surprise)it tells me if I can’t see it to press the power button for 5 seconds, and then turn it back on. I do this and now I have messages in settings that say unable to find my sonos systemIf I go to my internet provider app and look at devices, it shows my speaker is in fact connected to my router. I also check groups as I set up a group specific for my Sonos devices called Sonos sound systemIf in th
Hi, I bought my elderly father the Sonos One SL and was able to set it up on his wifi. Then, he got a new iphone and the speaker stopped working. Over the phone, I couldn’t walk him through setting it back up (we even tried a factory reset), so I had him call Sonos. They told him his router, Spectrum SAX1V1R, is the culprit, with the only solution being to wire the speaker. And that is definitely not an acceptable solution. I’m seeing that SAX1V1S is incompatible with Sonos - and that router is the sister model to his, so I have to assume the router is the problem. But, I’m mystified how I was ever able to set it up successfully. Tomorrow, we’ll try to enable/disable UPnP, but is there anything else we can try? He’s not too keen on calling Spectrum and asking them to replace his router. If the router is the problem, I’m rather surprised that Sonos doesn’t support it. This router has been on the market since 2022 and is commonly installed by the second-largest internet provider in the U
Hey all,So for Christmas I invested in a Victrola Stream Onyx and a pair of Era 100s for my Dining Room. They look great and sound great, but whenever I attempt to add my Backyard Play:1s (stereo mode) in a group, it only plays audio out of the left channel Play:1 in the Backyard. To be honest, I have noticed it with other audio sources as well too, not just the Victrola record player. It works fine in other rooms grouped when I play it on my Arc (w/ surround Era 300s and Sub), my bedroom Beam, my Move and even my Era 300s in the Garage (in stereo mode). The only solution I have found is to take my Play:1s out of stereo mode and treat them as their own speakers in the Backyard and add them to a group individually, but that seems so counterintuitive. Any thoughts, solutions or help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I get an error when trying to play the ABC News Radio station. It worked fine in the past and other ABC stations still play. I've tried accessing the station directly through Sonos Radio and via TuneIn radio but no luck. The error says that the station is no longer available. I checked the ABC website and a recent post shows that they have responded to similar questions and do not know of any reason.
I have just bought an Era100 and want to use it a the ethernet wired source to set up the “wired” network. I have had issues with the standard wifi set up so this is a recommended path.I have done this but none of my other speakers are showing as WM:0. They are all still showing as WM:1.Any ideas?thanks in advance
Moderator edit:Google Translate- Hello Hello, recently moved and got a new router in the home.Have a One and Beam that seem to interfere with each other when I stream music. Both are installed on the network but when I start playing music on one speaker the other disappears from the list and I can't pair.Anyone experienced the same and have a solution to the problem?
Hello! I'm considering buying a second Sonos 5 speaker so as to have a true "stereo" experience with my turntable. My question is whether this would be worth it. Does a second Sonos five, paired for stereo, make a major difference in terms of sound quality/audio separation? Or is pretty similar? For context, right now I have Gen 2 Sonos 5 plugged into a Pro-Ject T1 turntable. Generally, the sound is great. The room isn't too big and I don't have complaints. BUT...If there's a chance sound would be substantially improved, I might make the leap. The set up is such so that speakers would have to be laid out horizontally rather than vertically. I was also wondering about line in issues, as with a paired set, only one of the speakers would have the advantage of being directly "plugged in" into the speaker. Would this make left/right channel sound slightly different from each other? If anyone has actually made the change from a turntable hooked into one sonos 5, and then added a second,
Hi,I have a few Sonos devices in the house. Most work fine, but two Play:1 speakers upstairs have poor wifi. What are my options to improve it? Can I wire them into the network? Or will that cause issues for the rest of my Sonos setup?
It seems all my SONOS equipment can connect to my router on the “5G” network, except for my Beam. It’s still looking for a 2.4G network. I’ve done some band steering on my router to create the 2.4G network and it seems to be happy; however, I’d like to have everything on the same band if I can (no biggie if I can’t). My equipment seems to be up-to-date with software - according to the app. I’m using the T-Mobile 5G Gateway as my Router/WiFi system. Also, how do I verify if I have a Gen 1 or 2 Beam?I have the following SONOS equipment:2x Move1Arc+2 SL One+SubBean+2x SL One+mini-Sub2x Ports Thanks,Nick.
I’ve got two rooms with a single Sonos OneSL each. The third room had two Sonos OneSLs in a stereo pair. All the speakers are wired to ethernet. Grouping the rooms worked flawlessly.I recently added a tv and a Beam to the third room. The Beam is paired with the two Sonos OneSLs. The beam was not initially wired to ethernet. When this third room is put into a group, music will play throughout the building, but after some random amount of time the third room drops out of the group and will be listed in the Sonos app separately from the group. For the first week or two the Beam was not wired to ethernet, so I wired it up hoping to resolve this issue. After about a month, the issue repeats each time I group the third room with another room.
Can I turn the sync between the speakers on and off
I have a comprehensive Sonos system with around twenty components. No issues with connectivity on any of them, except for one Play 5 which dropped from the system. I reset (numerous times at this point) and could not get it to reconnect wirelessly (could not join the temporary Sonos network). When I connect via ethernet it finds it right away and speaker can be set up. I have even been able to disconnect the cable and have it remain functioning as long as I don’t unplug the speaker. Once I unplug it to move it to its preferred location, it can no longer be found (wifi range is ample). Sometimes when I unplug it it will immediately lose connection. I submitted a diagnostic 251709449
Hello, I’ve recently bought an Era 100 and find it really disappointing that a USB-C to UBC-C connection is not considered as a possible line-in. This would definitely make sense since more and more phones just offer a USB-C connection without a 3,5 jack.
