All … basic Sonos app grouping question. So, app functionality seems to have broken since the update. Here is my setup. (3) Rooms. Room (1) Living Room with Sonos Arc, Sub, and Left/Right One SL surrounds. Room (2) Office1 with a single One SL. Room (3) Office2 with a single One SL. So, while streaming Pandora music from my Smart TV in the living room, all seems ok in Room (1). But, if I try to group in Office1 and Office2 to listen to the same music, everything goes silent and I lose control of where the Pandora output is pointed. The only way to remedy change the grouping to the Living Room, shutting off my TV and turning back on. In the past, I could easily add/remove rooms from the group and the music would stream perfectly fine. Thoughts on why this is? Do I need to re-set up all my room configurations since the app updates? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks all!
If my era 300 is attached to a Wi-Fi booster disc will it be running on Wi-Fi or Ethernet? I would have thought Ethernet but as the booster is not connected to the router via Ethernet I do wonder. It is one of the Bt booster discs.Colin
Hi all, I bought a second Era 100 today and tried to register it. Sadly no joy.The speaker appears in the app and connects to the internet. My Sonos app is up to date, have turned router and phone off/ on etc following advice on previous posts here. I have another Era 100 bought a few weeks ago. It registered first time and I’ve had no issues with it.One possible issue is our network: TP-Link Deco 9 mesh. I haven’t tried connecting the second speaker by Ethernet but could try that. All suggestions appreciated, thank you
Not sure how but the latest update (was away for a couple of weeks) has made my Sub and two Play:3 surrounds vanish. I can see that one of the Play:3s shows up on the network briefly (on 5GHz), then goes away. They are really not there - router says they are offline, SSDP fails for them. (The Sub and the P3s are bound to different Playbars).Things are getting pretty bad when even the Desktop app can’t find them (and also my app and any UPnP utility as well).I’m going to break out a long Ethernet cable for additional testing next. If that fails I guess I’ll reset them, but that just seems so very unnecessary.
I hava a Sonos Sub G1. I am using S1 controller as I still have several Play5 g1 speakers. However the speaker was bought 2nd hand and was earlier used with Sonos app. Have not been able to downgrade it to S1, what is the trick?
Since couple of weeks, my speakers (era 100 and Sonos One) keep disappearing in Sonos App (ios and ipad, did not try mac) and canoot be found in the app either. The only thing I managed is to unplug and plug it again, it will apprear in the app, but only for a short time. Later it will disappear again! And I cannot use airplay to play anything on Sonos speakers, as they dont show up in the list. I tried, as someone suggested, turn off “private wifi address”, but it did not help. What can I do? is it a bug introduced in the last update?
Speakers not Detected after latest update.
I have a 6 room Sonos system in a long single storey flat. The wireless was awful, so I have installed 3 Netgear wireless access points each connected by ethernet to the router. The signal keeps dropping out randomly, but particularly when my upstairs neighbours are in.I had a Sonos boost, but Sonos support have said this no longer supported, so I have removed it from the system.1. Can I still go to a wired Sonos system? 2.Should I connect a speaker in each room group to ethernet?
I bought a bundle from Sonos: Era 100 and Pro-Ject turntable with all the cables and adapters. It's all set up but the audio from the Sonos speaker is VERY faint and also sounds like static. I have double and triple checked the cables to make sure they are all plugged in tightly and correctly. I am using the “Line In” source via the Sonos app. I have played with all the audio settings and nothing makes a difference. Tried multiple records as well. Called Sonos and the wait time to speak with someone is an hour. Hoping someone can help?
Hello - I cant seem to disable wifi on my One SL. Wifi receiver is absolutely useless so I bought an ethernet cable as I have spent 16 hours attempting to get into contact with Sonos, resetting the speaker, troubleshooting, live chatting, you name it lol. Now the ethernet cable comes in and I cannot disable the wifi. I might lose it. Does anyone have any suggestions. Attached is a picture showing what the app does for 2 miliseconds when i tap the button. It then slides back and fails to disable wifi. The new sonos app requires a dedicated therapist for all of its users.
So, how much can I get for a Beam and 2 Ones? Or should I give them away? Or should I just throw them away, so I don't make anyone else miserable?
Moderator Edit: Google Translate- With the S1 we had the option to decide when you have a Connect installed, every time it receives a signal, this signal is directly sent to a predetermined speaker. In S2 I can't find this option. I have a Connect installed connected to the audio output of the TV in my room. I have two play1 installed on the head of the bed. Automatically when I turn on the TV,
The app want allow me to Change WiFi. Everything works with ethernet cabel, but when i try to go into to setting on the app to Change WiFi, it searches for Devices and suggest devices i dont have. It cant find my devices. What to do ?
Last week every morning at 0500 sonos (ikea symfoni) starts to play some Toca Toca song on high volume, This in my daughters room. I recently installed the windows app due to thats were it was possible do alarms settings, but there where no alarms listed, so there was nothing to remove. Not that I added any alarms before either…And then the usual the app has gone really pore, wants to reinstall system each time you open it, but forgets it after some seconds, but still it takes me one minut every night to start here bedtime e-book at the correct volume.I wish the speaker was newer so I could returned it and purchased another brand. Not a premium prized brand with this pore software.
Might be a silly question but how can I pair my roam 2 to my existing system (arc and 2 era 100’s)
I always use my Sonos one as a alarm to get up in the morning, it’s the only reason I bought the thing. And I absolutely hate that they removed alarms in the new app. Please bring them back as soon as possible.
Hi all. I have a sonos beam G1 connected to my TV via HDMI at the minute which works fine. We lovr karaoke and i would love to connect it all up.. so far i have the audio from the TV into my microphone mixer via arc. This pulls the tv audio and mics together (usually use youtube on tv to play the tracks) if i put headphones into audio out jack i can hear it all and sounds good. I then removed the headphones and plugged in a aux to phono... which went into an HDMI converter then on into the beam but the beam just doesnt play anything. The source comes up as spdif but no sound. Can anyone help?
I have the sonos move in the kitchen and when i contol the volume with the hardware volume buttons only the sonos move gets louder and louder. Would be Nice if there is an option to increase the volume of the whole sonos system (instead by using the app) !
I just bought the new Sonos Era 100, but during setup, the error message pops up:“Your Era 100 has been added, but may not appear in the system tab. If so unplug the power cord and plug it back in to finish setup”. I have done everything I possibly can to restart things, read all the threads etc, but the Era100 remains undetected. Is this a software fault or a hardware fault. Not ideal when you are spending so much money on something that does not work efficiently. Think I might just return it for something that works more simply.
Without my intervention, the Sonos system by it self separates half of my several sonos speakers into another household (under same wifi) so the result is that through the Sonos app I can not see the speakers that were segregated into this new household. It is the second time this happens to me in the last month, and prior occasion I had to reset all the speakers that had gone away to the system created 2nd household and repair them to my original household. What can be done to prevent this from happening? What can be done to re group all speakers into one household without going through the pain of reseting?. Thank you
My Play5 won’t switch on. I’ve gone through the suggestions around turning it off, unplugging and it just won’t switch on. No lights of any colour appear.Am I correct in saying that it is now the end of the road for my speaker and I need to take it to my local electrical recycling facility or can it be repaired?
Sorry, I know this has been asked a number of times on here but: I have an 8x4m room that I want to get an optimum sound setup. Most responses seem to skew towards home cinema. We do have a TV in the room, while good sound would good it’s secondary to getting room filling HiFi sound. I’m currently running an old Arcam amp + Sonos Connect (Gen1) + x2 floor standing Mission speakers Upgrade I’m considering is: x2 FIVE or Era 300 - Positioned in stereo at West end of room x2 Era 100 - Positioned at East end of room x1 Sub or Sub Mini - Positioned West end of room x1 Turntable An alternative that has been suggested is Ultimate Immersive Set with Arc - I’m concerned that if I position an Arc under the TV (which is on one of the 8 meter walls) while it will be great for TV it won’t give immersive sound like the stereo setup above. Clearly all of this is eye wateringly expensive, so I want to get it right :)
On my Sonos Ones, the amount of volume at 1% is wayy too loud to be 1%, but then if tiu try to get the volume ANY lower it just drops off to nothing. Not at all being "that guy" but this 1% sounds more like a honest 10%. And thats if I change every limit volume setting, turn on/off loudness, adjust the EQ every which way, and even change the output of audio (Dolby, pci, DTS, etc.).The ONLY solution I have found is to just use my Sonos roam instead. No, I am not complaining about the volume being too loud, I'm just confused as to how loud 1% volume is, when the next step is No sound output.Like imagine your phone dying at 12% every time. But always showed 12%.Or like either being able to only squeeze a literal HANDFUL of toothpaste out of the tube, or nothing at all.Just does not seem right at all.. (still a problem, over a year later)
I have a play3 that won't connect to my app. The app finds the speaker, connects to the speakers WiFi and then will not play the connection tone. I have done a system reset and I have hard wired it to the router with no positive result.
Hi, I am losing the will to live! We updated internet to Virgin got a new router and when we tried to connect we encountered problems with one of the speakers. In the meantime the app has been upgraded. I have two Play One (The one that isn't working is the oldest circa 2014/2015 ish)We've tried -- unplugging, pressing play and plugging back in. The light flashes white, flashes oranges and then just keeps flashing organge and doesn't turn to green and so we cant even get to chime. - Plugging ethernet cable in still no joy. I've contacted Sonos support (45 + minute wait) and then a 40 minute call back for a technician to tell me to do the same and that I'd need to buy another Sonos!!! The other speaker is working fine btw. Is this Sonos shutting us out due to age of speaker which was working perfectly until this point? Seems weird that the new version 2018/19 is working fine.. Any ideas, guidance greatly appreciatedNat (dreaming of Bose)
