Hello,I know the Sonos App now allows setup and TruePlay for inverted, ceiling mounted Era 300s for surround. My questions is related to their placement. I have a few variables coming into play and I’m trying to decide what is best. Was hoping to get some thoughts.I have purchased a couple Flexson ceiling mounts that come down what look to be 6 inches or so. My main issue is a support beam running right around where I’d like to place the Era 300s. Would I be okay placing them just in front of the beam if I can angle the speakers slightly down or would they be too far forward with how high they are? I’m just not sure the mounts hold the speakers low enough to place them behind the beam and it not get in the way. I could potentially add some wood to the bottom of the joists to lower the speakers more if I need to go behind though.Ceiling is about 9ft from the bottom of the joistsA few photos have been provided to show my setup. Thanks!
I take care of elderly parents, and I love music in the kitchen. I purchased a pair of Era 100 speakers to get me moving while working in the kitchen. As you can see from the picture, my parents are clutter bugs, which leaves no sonically clean areas below the speakers and no real place to mount them other than fairly high on the wall. I think just to the left of the slide door opening, about the height of the opening is the best place to mount the Right speaker. The left would go roughly equal distance from the side wall, at the same height. The floor is hard, ceramic tile, and the ceiling opens for a skylight about 4’ in front of the wall. The counter where I took the picture is 8-10 feet from the wall.Normally, Sonos recommends mounting the Era 100 upright around eye height and inverted when higher. I suspect the speakers will sound better upright at about 6’ off the floor so sound can bounce off the ceiling rather than be absorbed by all the “stuff” along the wall.It is not my home,
I’m new to Sonos:Want to know steps to st up FIVE line-in direct to analog TV headphones… Whilst still being able to include FIVE with full Arc system downstairs via Wi-fi.Whenever I include FIVE with Wi-fi, then switch back to line-in source, the FIVE is disconnected from line-in (& hard to reconfigure).
What does the solid unblinking green light on my stereo pair of Era 100’s mean?
I just bought a new sonos speaker the Era 100, i already had the Sonos One gen2, when i try to set an alarm from the app it immediately cancels out, not even a nanosecond and it’s gone idk what’s wrong.i bought the a new Era 100 and same issue with the sono one gen 2 i don’t even know what’s wrong to say im speechless. i have tried everything resetting the speakers the app everything.
Have 2 era 100 speakers I want to set up as stereo. How do I set them up
My Era 100 makes beeps when not used - I believe it is when my bluetooth paired laptop is closed and in the house. Playback from the laptop via bluetooth is fine, but when not used the loudspeaker will make those beeps regularly, even it is muted. I don’t understand the point of this feature and you should simply remove it. I complained a few years ago, you promised to put it on your updates list, but nothing happened.
I thought I’d replace a Play:3 with an Era 300 as the app has behaved itself for a while and eventually added the alphabetic selection back to a local library… I should have known better. At all stages of the process it’s been a shambles. I had two 30% credits on my account from old gear and buying a single 300 used both… I then get a survey request asking me how I liked my 300 before it had even shipped, so I’m sure you can imagine the responses that got. The Era 300 arrived today and wow, how absolutely unfriendly can you make the simple task of replacing a speaker with a new one? There’s still no way to remove a speaker from your setup. The best suggestion is to factory reset it… so did that with the Play:3, but the Sonos app now reports the old speaker as missing… brilliant. Add the Era 300, the app detects it, but bombards you with popups saying hey I’ve found a speaker and then more popups to stop the popups… I just want to use the app to check stuff before I add the speaker. Do
Can I achieve Atmos setup with the following set of in-wall/ceiling speakers with one Sonos Amp?One Pair of KEF Ci200RS-THX One Pair of KEF Ci200RR-THXDo I need Sonos Arc Ultra for this?
Ever since the 2024 update I have had issues with my Sonos system, but not a big enough problem to warrant taking drastic action. But the inability of the system to play a nice selection of Christmas music over the holidays has even had my wife saying the Sonos is a waste of time and money.Hence, it’s time to do something about it.I have had a good read at the comments about “downgrading from S2 to S1. These articles do appear to be, in some cases nearly 12 months old.May I ask if it would be possible for someone to verify my understanding of what is required to “drop” back to the original S1 app functionality. All my devices are S1 compatible as they are typically 5+ years old.All I want is my system to respond as it used to do, play the music I want and not drop speakers for days on end, only to then magically find the speaker again and play some random music. My understanding is: -Download the original S1 app to another device to avoid confusion. Not sure if there is a particular ver
I have a Sonos Boost I'm trying to connect. That connects to the S1 app on my phone just fine. But when I try to connect the sound bar, the woofer and these two side speakers, it just does not connect. I'm hitting play and the plus sign. So it flashes all the speakers flash orange, but the S1 app on my phone does not recognize the system. The S1 app on my Mac also does not recognize other systems. My Boost is recognized just fine. I have no idea how to begin fixing this. Sonos Model Play 1 - 1606 5C AA FD C2 48 70 2Sonos Model Sub - 1605 5C AA FD 84 CB 0C 2Sonos Model Playbar - 1606 5C AA FD A5 7F F6 9

Sonos system with Bridge, Play 3 and Play 5 1st gen. Play 3 can play music library on NAS, if I group Play 3 and Play 5 they can play music library on NAS, but Play 5 on its own gets the message “unable to access….” I’ve done a factory reset of the 5 and reconnected to the network, but still get the same problem.
My setup has Arc, Sub Gen3, Two Era 100’s, Two Era 300’s I have an older Arc and a pair of Era 300’s set to the side of the soundbar but I have been getting that annoying pop or crack sound as I’m watching any content. I have tried a number of things:I have set them as a stereo pair and still that does not work. Popping happens. Reset the speakers. Set them as a separate set and they still pop. I have restarted my home network and added them back in and nothing is working. Has anyone gone through this or found a solution. Initially the Soundbar and Era’s were all popping but now just the Era 300’s are doing that after I was sent replacements for the soundbar and Era300’s. I’m at my wits end and so angry since these speakers don’t come cheap.
Been enjoying Sonos for years with only minor issues. After moving speakers, I’ve been unable to reconnect to WiFi. I’ve tried unplugging my Network Acces Hub (modem/ router) and all Sonos products, then reconnecting in proper order – no luck. Factory resets on all products – no luck.Connecting Play 5 (Gen. 2) with an Ethernet cable has succeeded, but when I disconnect the cable the speaker disappears. Attempts to enter my correct wireless code, result in an “unable to connect” error. I’ve succeeded in connecting Era 100 but when I play a song, the icon continually spins…no song being played. My gut tells me it’s a WiFi/ Network problem, but nothing has changed and it’s worked fine in the past.
I have been told by Sonos support that my Play 1s are no longer compatible with my Sonos system and are therefore defunct. They offered me 30% off new ones. I am finding this very hard to accept. Anyone else had the same issue?
Hi! The volume slider worked for the first hour I used the product. Now, it's just an empty slider with no handle. I can't adjust the volume remotely, only on the device. Inconvenient:) I found an only topic, about a year ago, where a friendly person collected diacnostic data but the topic was closed before a solution was shared to the dozens of people that reported the same issue. It sounds like I have the same problem and hope to hear what I can do. Thanks!
I am trying to use the NHL App to send a radio broadcast of a game to a Sonos Move speaker via AirPlay. I can select the radio source in the NHL App, start the radio broadcast on my iPad, then select AirPlay and send the stream to my Sonos Move Speaker. This works fine. I then go into the Sonos App, select the Sonos Move speaker and set a Sleep Timer for 1 hour. That works and the Sleep Timer starts its countdown. However, at the end of an hour the indicator light on the Sonos Move speaker flashes white for 2 seconds (the normal signal the sleep timer is finishing) but the AirPlay audio stream continues to be broadcast to the Sonos Move speaker. I assume this is a bug with the Sleep Timer. Has anyone found a work around? Thanks. Dave Wilkinson
I’m a die hard Sonos supporter. My system works as it should. However nothing is perfect.I’d like to see Sonos (if possible) do something to improve the microphone sensitivity for voice assistants. I have three Arc Ultra’s and all have difficulty picking up a request when audio is playing. Ironically, my Move 2’s are much more sensitive to picking up a voice command when playing audio.I don’t believe this is an issue where I need to submit a diagnostic. I’m well enough familiar with Sonos to know when an issue is not a glitch but something that may be corrected via a firmware update unless it is hardware based. If hardware then I’ll have to wait for the Arc Ultra Plus 😂.But seriously, hopefully the Moderators can push this as a low-level concern but one that would be most appreciated if addressed.
I have done a factory rest and connected my Sonos one gen 2 to the network. It then says the message in the image I have attached. However, there is no system settings in the app. I see a settings icon in the top right but it doesn’t let me click it. Any advice?
I screwed up and added my new Era 100 to its own system, not the current system that my Beam is on.I keep trying to forget the system for the Era but it stays there. I added another era 100 to the original system Am I screwed?
I hear random clicks an pops while watching tv
Good Evening,I hope someone can advise. I have 2 x play 3 speakers and 2 x play 1 speakers. All were working perfectly . There was a recent software update and the play 1’s are fine. Since the update both my play 3 speakers are popping and crackling randomly at any volume and are very distorted. I have tried them separately and as a stereo pair. I have turned the bass and treble down and turned the loudness off. I have done a factory reset twice but to no avail. I have raised a case with Sonos diagnostics and they have said that it is a hardware fault if I have done a factory reset and it has not rectified the problem. I said that it is very strange that both speakers have failed at the very same moment in time with a hardware failure and he agreed but said that is what it is and offered the 15% upgrade. Any advice suggestions would be much appreciated. I love the speakers and don’t want to throw them away and buy new. Thanks
Hi,I’ve bought my wife two of the Era 100s to add to my old (basically unused) Sonos system (4xV2 devices) so that we can use Bluetooth to enjoy music (bypassing the Sonos app). However, I can’t add them, the update fails with error 30 (as in this question). The speaker is sat on my desk, metres away from the router. There is only a USB cable, so wiring in is not possible without an adaptor. There is also no option to submit anything as per advice in that post, only to “Try again”.I have attempted factory resets, running the setup with and without the microphone (which I’d far rather didn’t exist), but it fails at the same point whatever I do. Since I bought two of these, I’ve tried both and it’s the same deal. I have a network firewall, so I can see that my phone successfully contacts `update.sonos.com`, but nothing from the devices themselves, and I’ve also tried fully disabling the firewall during the update, but no change.I also tried updating via the Windows app; that fails in the
