Sonos Era 300 Popping Noise

I recently purchased a pair of Sonos Era 300 speakers and paired them together in a stereo configuration. Shortly after setting them up, I began noticing intermittent popping noises during music playback.

After doing some research, I came across this ongoing discussion and wanted to add my experience to the conversation. To provide some context: my speakers are brand new, fully paired, and running the latest firmware — so this doesn’t appear to be related to older hardware or outdated software.

I have a great deal of respect for Sonos as a brand, which is why I chose to invest in the Era 300s. I understand that audio issues can be complex and difficult to resolve, and I appreciate the efforts made so far. That said, given how long this issue has been reported by the community, I’d like to respectfully ask for a transparent update on where things stand and what steps are being taken toward a permanent resolution.

I’m hopeful that this can be addressed definitively — not just as a temporary fix, but as a lasting solution for all affected users.

Thank you for listening, and I look forward to hearing from the community and the Sonos team.

To hear from Sonos wait for the noise, submit a diagnostic and then call support to have it looked at. A moderator may see your post here but a support call is the best way to get an official response.

I have two Pairs of 300s with no popping issues, mostly Amazon or my music library. What service are you using?

I am playing music from my Apple library via Bluetooth

Bluetooth? Could certainly be wifi interference , impacting the low rez signal. Any particular reason you’ve chosen Bluetooth?

No particular reason. Just test driving my new speakers; wanted to hear how my favorite playlist sounded.

I’d expect it to sound a lot better using the Sonos connection/plugin to Apple Music, rather than Bluetooth.

That makes sense. I can see how playing music over Bluetooth would reduce sound quality and cause the popping noises. I’ll update my setup as soon as possible.

With the Era-300 Pair you really need to feed them an Atmos signal, the sound is amazing. Listening to mixed Playlist you can hear the sound go "flat" when coming off a well mixed Atmos track to a stereo one. Enough difference I upgraded two rooms from other speakers to 300s and feel it was money well spent.

Regarding the popping sound, the latest update is supposed to resolve this.
