Existing Sonos One & play base with play:1 as rears, upgrading to arc ultra, era300 and sub 4

I have an existing Sonos system with a play base and play:1s as rears in the living room and several play:1s throughout the house in different rooms.

I am considering upgrading to the arc ultra, era300 rears and a sub 4 for the living room.

Are there any issues using “one” sonos app to control the new arc ultra, era300 & sub 4 with the old play:1 speakers throughout the house? I understand they will work separately for movies, but will music work in all speakers for the entire house with one app?

You state “using “one” sonos app”. Did @MoPac interpret this right as in your question is about using the S1 Sonos app?

I don’t care which app I need to use. I just want to know that I can use the same app to control and view the arc ultra, era 300s and play:1s. I currently use the app for IPad and Ipohne.

The 300s are restricted to the new app.

As are the Sub 4 and Arc Ultra, but not an issue as all the devices OP owns are supported by the Sonos app.

So if you use the Sonos app, set up two “rooms”. You can group the rooms if you want to.

The OP initially stated “…and several play:1s throughout the house in different rooms.” so they already have multiple rooms.

You do need to care which app you use.

The ArcUltra, Era 300’s Sub 4 will not work on the old S1 app. So do you know if you are using the latest Sonos app (previously called S2) or are you using the S1 app?
