I have a upgraded my system to a Sonos Port in my living room connected to my router by Ethernet cable and connected to my amp in another room by Ethernet cable. The problem I have is that despite a very good WiFi signal in the room containing the amp, I am unable to connect to it!!! And keep getting the message “unable to connect to device, try again later”with the olde connect amp I had no problems whatsoever and I am at a loss on how to fix the problem?
Hallo, after upgrading my system to S2 everything is working fine, but I am missing the most important feature (at least for me) within the app: In S1 it was possible to select a song from Google Play Music or Amazon Music and hit the “start radio”-Button. This feature is also available in the GPM and Amazon Music Apps - and it was in sonos. Now I always have to open these apps and use the cast function and switch back to sonos for grouping speakers etc. That’s really annoying! Is the feature just moved somewhere and I am unable to find it? Thanks in advance! drohhyn
Had Sonos move for 6 months and randomly the sound can turn up loud for no reason at all. not sure what’s happening?
How do I connect a Sonos 1 play to a hotspot? (I dont have a router)
Not trying to start up a flame war, but I’m genuinely at a decision point and need some opinions.I LOVE(ED?) SONOS for a long time...I probably don’t have as extensive of investment as some of you (I only have Connect:AMP, 2x Play1 and 1xPlay5)...but, investment nonetheless.Mostly, my setup does exactly what I need...I have very little interest in changes, can’t think of any new features that I need (except maybe to have Sonos stop breaking the features I have! [hello, lock screen controls?])I would like to buy myself a soundbar for Christmas (although it looks like they aren’t shipping from sonos.com until Feb’21 :( ) Hence the decision point...should I keep investing? Will Sonos let me live forevermore with my “legacy” S1 devices...until they physically stop working? I have no first hand experience with Sonos lifecycling products out. Currently, I’m seeing the 30% ‘incentive’ to rid the world of older devices. My fear, if I do nothing, in the next 18-24 months...there will ultima
Need some help please! We are building a home now and I have my low voltage team working right now to set up speakers. Here’s the rough plan: Deck TV home run into basement and will have 2 outdoor speakers. Will be controlled with Sonos Amp and wall mounted volume controller. I assume I’m ok to use Roku in this setup by plugging the Roku into the Sonos Amp?The living room may or may not be home run into basement. This room will NOT have overhead speakers but the nearby kitchen will have speakers powered by the deck amp as mentioned above. We had planned on using a Sonos ARC for this living room TV, which would allow us to use the TV in living room as source for the ARC AND the speakers on the Deck/Kitchen.Is this understanding correct so far? Finally, we plan to use Roku for this TV in the living room. This means my Roku will plug into my TV, which will plug into my ARC, which will allow me to pair that sound to other Sonos Amp powered speakers. Is this all correct? Need some quick help as
I’ve seen hundreds of posts on here with people that have a reasonable need for a headphone jack which Sonos has chosen to get rid of by making the play 5 G1 incompatible with the new controller. I see that people keep responding that Sonos has no obligation to those of us who need a headphone jack option because there isn’t a need from the mass. I love my Sonos sound system. I have a speaker in every room of my house so I’m not here to badger Sonos but I believe that there is a market for incorporating a headphone jack. They had one in the GEN one play five so why remove it in the later generation? I, like others on here, have a unique, yet genuine, need for a headphone jack because regardless of whether we are the majority or minority, we all invested in Sonos and we like to listen to our music our own way. The application for me is that I have a drum set I play and I plug my headphones into the headphone jack of the ply 5 gen1 and use it as a monitor so I can play my drums along
I am planning on replacing the Sonos motherboard/PS boards on my Play 5’s with a 3rd party Airplay board thereby keeping my play 5’s out of the landfill. Does anyone know the sizes of these boards? I am trying to avoid opening mine up if someone already has this info. If this works out I’ll post replacement board type and photos. Thanks, Ian
The problem I am experiencing is that sometimes the sound emanating from the Beam is garbled; i.e., it sounds as if the person speaking is talking underwater. This happens randomly and generally only last for anywhere from a minute to as long as three our four minutes. I exclusively use the Beam for tv playback and have it paired with two Sonos speakers.
Mine lasts about 2-3 hours tops. Only a couple of of months old.
Does anyone have experience using Sonance in-ceiling speakers as front channels via an amp for TV? Will be using a second amp for rear channels, bonded with the front. Additionally, does anyone have experience using Sonance in-ceiling speakers outdoors in a fully covered porch? I know I can use other speakers, but I am thinking that true play could assist with directional output of the front channels. To give some context, I will primarily be using these for music (full setting), but occasionally would like to setup a projector for movies and sports and was wondering how these speakers will perform. It doesn’t have to be perfect. But I prefer this setup vs Sonance wall or a sound bar. Ceiling is 9.5 feet, speakers will be positioned in quadrants, 3-4 feet off each corner. Porch is 16 long by 13 wide.
Which iPhones models to use for True play to get the best results? I'm able to borrow an iPhone XS Max and I would like to now if it's any point to do the calibration with it.Without TruePlay I have some problems with my sub gen 3 (together with arc and ones). The bass plays too loud on some frequencies, which is a big problem!
Hi,I currently have a circa 2016 Panasonic TV receiving HDMI inputs from an Apple TV 4K and PS5. I am using a Sonos Beam, plus 2 x Sonos One SL units for surround connected to the TV via the ARC HDMI port. There is a small, but noticeable audio delay when using a 5.1 audio output from either of my sources. I have done extensive reading on the subject and rather than looking for a fix, I am simply looking for suggestions/recommendations as to 43” TV models that will work via ARC with no delay (perhaps a model with a lip-sync delay feature). Although I have seen suggestions that these issues are rare, I doubt this is the case as I’ve seen reports of the issue with Sony, Samsung, Panasonic and LG sets.cheers,D
How to connect Sonos Play 5 (gen2) with Nebula Mars 2 projector? Can someone please advise me how to make this connection work? I also have a Sonos Play 1, if that is better for this. Thank you.
got a new tv and setting it up, on the old tv it was set up in the optical cable, this one I can use the hdmi arc port- tried moving to new tv and it is not working - how can I do this
All, My girlfriend and I are building a new house. We currently have several Sonos-speakers, but after some debate we’ve landed on in-ceiling speakers for the living room and dining-area. For the living room, I expect to go with 4 of the Sonos/Sonance in-ceiling combined with two AMPs and my Sonos-sub to create a 4.1/5.1 (virtual center) surround-setup. I am looking for any reallife experience with a similar set-up before I close the deal with our contractor. We used to have a complete setup with a Sonos Playbar, two Play:3s and the Sonos Sub in our living-room so any comparison with that would be much appreciated. Depending on the input we get, I might consider switching the fronts to something larger and better angled at the listening position than the Sonos/Sonance-speakers. However, I would appreciate the possibility to use Trueplay, as the living room will be on the 1st floor with an open space to the dining room (you can walk to the end of the living and look down at the
We have had Sonos for several years and listen to various genres. Our favorite channel is Concert Hall, mostly because the curator/announcer/DJ (whatever they are called) is incredibly knowledgeable and interesting. Now we have switched to HD and he is gone! Why in the world would Sonos take away such an integral part of this programming? The HD quality sounds great and we are very relieved to be rid of the hideous ads, but please bring back the curator, or find a way to give paying listeners a choice!I spoke with a customer service rep today and he said he would pass on my request. Maybe if enough people complain…???
Bought new Samsung Q60T TV last Saturday & connected the S2 Connect Amp to Samsung TV through HDMI (2) eARC Connection.Afer spending good money & three days with Samsung Eng in setting TV up correctly he gave in & said phone Sonus When the Sonus S2 is connected to the TV & my Sky Box to the other HDMI (1),it kills the sound on Sky & plays my Sky Box through the S2 but to the speakers hard wired to my S2.As these are in another room where my wife watches her tv ,it scares her to death.Seriousy I believe it is something to do with infrared IR signal either through the remote, which will not reset the S2.When I went all the way through the Sonus Amp set up I cannot drive the sound through the TV,when this fails it Samsung ask me for the Sonus Serial Number,I enter the correct one & it will not take it - at this point Samsung Eng gave up
is there a bracket to mount the arc to the bottom of your TV
Getting an echoey sound from the playbar. Def not coming from the tv.
Hi I have a Sony Bravia TV. Just trying to figure this out. My surround sound works fine using YouTubeTV directly from the TV with Arc connected to the HDMIARC. Testing a ROKU which via HDMI conenctd to another input on the TV and no surround sound. Is that normal? ANy TV settings that would make a ROKU Ultra device work with surround sound via Sonos? Hope this makes sense.
I have Sonos Connect pre-installed in my apartment. There are speakers in the living room as well as the bedroom ceilings. Since the beginning both have always played together and I’ve never distinguished between the two in settings or anything. But I just noticed that the bedroom speakers are not playing any audio. I’ve also been having problems with music dropping off for several seconds and then coming back on. Can you tell me what I need to do to get the music playing again in the bedroom? Have already tried unplugging the power of the Sonos box for 10 secs and plugging back in.
I have Had my new Arc for a week now and although because of my TV being old I only get DD+ i amd very happy with it. the one thing i find disappointing is the lack of support fo DTS. i have bought several 4k disc that support DTS that i now find i cannot use, will that always be the case ? is there any possibility this will change ? Bc
Hi - I have enjoyed my Sonos system since 2005. In addition to a handful of Connect: Amp’s, I still have one of my original ZP100’s that is going strong. As someone who is happy to upgrade with newer components at some point, I wonder what the main benefits will be, both in terms of hardware and software (I use S1 exclusively). Do others have thoughts on what the main benefits of the newer equipment would be for me? Is it just faster processors and more power? Part of me is happy to continue as is, since nothing’s broken, but I wanted to ask. Also, I wondered if someone might point me to the features that are available through the new Sonos software vs. S1. Thanks in advance for your insights. David
Ignoring the fact that I would be compromising the sound somewhat by covering part of the upward firing speakers… I’m wondering if it is possible to mount the Arc to my TV stand using the Sanus TV mount and Arc mount? Currently I have a Beam mounted to my TV stand using the Sanus TV mount and Beam mount and I would like to replicate this if possible.
