I have had two Play 1 speakers working since 2016.We recently had to change router and now the controller app version 9.2.1 (on a Samsung SM-T310) won't work as the app states "The software on this device is outdated.......", and won't go any further in letting me try to re-connect the system.The Android version is 4.4.2 and the notes for version 9.2.1 shows it works on Android version 4.4. Does anyone, particularly Sonos, know what is going on here? Can I get a software version that works with Android 4.4.2 as this tablet won't update to anything newer? Help!!!!

Hi all, new to the forum but first time poster. Never had any issues with Sonos products so never felt the need to ask a question. I have recently purchased the Beam, very impressed with its sound etc. but what is really bugging me is being able to switch back to TV audio after playing music through the Beam? I’m connected via ARC HDMI I see many similar questions on here but none of the answers have helped me. I don’t have Alexa enabled as I have kids and they just shout Alexa all day so that isn’t an option for me. That leaves me with the Sonos app. I click on the Beam then “browse” and that’s where I become stuck. I keep pressing TV but nothing happens. The only way to get TV sound back through the Beam is turning the TV off by the plug, not even turning off via standby helps. It’s pretty poor from Sonos really I must admit. I’ve looked through every post imaginable on this but not found a solution unfortunately but my apologies if it is out there somewhere (if so, PLEASE point me in the right direction) I just purchased a ring Video Doorbell 2. All is working great with it but I am trying to automate it so that when it is pressed a chime (preferably an mp3) plays on my Sonos speakers (Sonos 1 x 3, Sonos 3 & beam) and then resumes whatever is playing (or just plays the chime if nothing was playing at the time). I’ve got it half working through IFTTT but when it is pressed it loops the mp3 continuously (which my kids love as it was saying, “HO HO HO, Merry Christmas” over and over and over… :D )

Inside the Alexa app under devices I can see my Sonos beam and 2 Sonos ones. When I click on any of them it opens up a new screen with a volume slider. How do you turn on and control the night mode in the new Beam?

I want to create a home theater using an [b]Optoma UHD60 [/b]projector and [b]Sonos 5.1 Surround Set with Playbar and Sonos One speakers[/b]. I am thinking of connecting a [i]PC or Raspberry Pie[/i] to the [i]projector[/i]. As I see the [i]playbar [/i]has to connect to the [i]projector [/i]via [b]optical in[/b]. [i]UHD60 [/i]has an [i]optical out[/i] so I am thinking of connecting the projector to the playbar with a [i]long optical cable[/i]. My questions are: 1. Is this connection [i]proper[/i] for this setup to [b]work[/b]? 2. Does this connection provide [b]5.1 surround sound[/b]? 3. Does the long optical cable have [b]audio quality loss[/b]? 4. Is it ok to connect the optical cable to the [i]projector[/i] or is it better to find a [b]source[/b] with optical out?

Hi, Whenever I use the "shuffle" feature, it always "shuffles" in the same order. Is there any way to have it shuffle the order differently? I thought it would be a random shuffle but on my system it is not random at all - always the same order. (Or maybe I am incredibly lucky and should play the lottery?). Is there a way to either mix up the shuffle order, or to have it actually shuffle in a different random order each time I choose the shuffle option? Thanks! Juggernaut

Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this and if so whether I can do anything to stop it happening? i have 2 Echo Dots in the house, one of which is located in the basement. In the mornings, while I'm listening to the radio (via Tune in) on my sonos equipment in my bedroom, the volume suddenly drops right down for a few seconds and then pops back up. I've realised this is because my children are chatting to Alexa in the basement and the volume drops on any and all zones until the interaction has finished. Note: the basement and bedroom zones are not joined together at the time, they are playing different music sources. In fact, I'm not even sure that anything is being played in the basement at the time.

I tried to search this topic both here and on Google. My apologies if it has been answered but I cannot find an answer. We have several Sonos Play 1 speakers and an Alexa Echo. I enabled the Alexa skill and updated the software on all of the Sonos speakers. I have the app for both. I created a group in the Alexa app called "Family Room". Under the "Alexa" heading, both the sonos speaker that I want to play and the Echo speaker are selected. In the preferred speaker section it will only allow me to have 1 of the 2 from the above section checked. I have tried it both ways. I am trying to get both the sonos speaker and the Echo to play the music together. I am able to say "Alexa, play music on Family Room" and the music will play on the Sonos speaker, but it will not also play on the Echo. Several websites seem to say that indicate that both will play (though I understand you cannot have two Echos play at the same time). Regardless, I cannot seem to play the music through both sim

Trying to use a Beam to control a 70' Vizio TV with the HDMI ARC connection. Using Alexa, I can turn on or off the TV, and control the volume of the TV. However, if I turn OFF the TV using the Remote Control, the Beam can not turn the TV on and in fact, the only way to turn the TV on is to reboot the TV by removing the power cord. I have searched for any Power Control settings on the TV, with no success. I also spent an hour on the phone with Sonos support, with no success. Any suggestions?

I purchased and connected a Beam via HDMI-ARC, however the sound is very limited. I have to turn it up to 35 to hear the TV, while I'm in the room. It is connected to a Samsung UN55F6300AF. When I look at the TV sound settings, I see that the sound is processed through PCM rather than Dolby Digital. Dolby Digital is greyed out. Would connecting via optical cable produce a better sound? For music it sounds really good, like a SONOS should...but for TV it is not cutting it. I want to like this thing, since I love the Ones I own.

I currently have in my Family Room, the following setup: Playbar, Sub, and 2 Play 1s (so surround sound). I am looking to pair of Kef q150 with Sonos Connect:Amp. I see that the Connect:Amp give 55W per channel but the q150 require 10-100W. Does that mean that the Connect:Amp will underpower the speakers ? FYI.. the impedance of q150's are 8ohm.

I have two (2) Play:1 speakers eetup in a stereo pair in my living room. I am considering buying another pair to use outside under the roof of our overhang and/or cabana (where we will have a TV). Both overhang and cabana are under construction. I thought of adding electrical outlet in different locations to support the Play:1 speakers... so will do this. But there are some other thoughts... 1. Long power cable comes with the Play:1 speakers... would be great if shorter version included with each Play:1 to support close proximity receptacle. How do I connect my Samsung Smart TV to my existing wifi speakers using Sonos? I already have my existing wifi set up with a Connect to be able to stream via my wifi speakers. Can I use the same Connect box to connect my TV (in the same place) to also use my wifi speakers?

Hi, I have a PS4 Pro set up with my Sonos Beam through a Samsung TV. The Beam is connected using the HDMI ARC slot, the PS4 is regular HDMI. I like to listen to my music through the Beam while I'm playing some games but while I am playing the sound continuously cuts back to the game sounds when I press the buttons on my PS4 controller. The PS4 is overriding my Sonos playback choice? Does anyone know how to stop this from happening? Thanks

G'day Sonos Fans. Please bare with me whilst I explain my scenario. ISP Router: 192.168.1.254 (static/DHCP) Wireless Bridge (Asus): 192.168.1.253 (static) 24 Port POE Switch (Dummy) 14 other Devices connected. Recently added sonos beam + sub, no issues worked flawlessly. Yesterday I added a Sonos Amp (x2) and Sonos Boost; It worked for a couple of hours; and at about the 4 hour mark my internet had shut off and ever since I've been playing with gremlins. I originally had the configuration as follows: ISP Router > Switch > Boost > AMP. After it broke I changed the AMP and BOOST to connect directly to the switch - I have not tried a different ethernet cable. I changed the Wireless Bridge to Auto channel and Sonos Boost to Channel 6 - No change in issue. Internally wireless connects, though cannot get to Google for example - sonos music unavailable etc. Externally my CCTV (LAN) + Solar inverter (Wireless) - I can connect to both outside of house network - ISP R
