I have a Sonos One with built in Alexa. All worked fine for a month but now Alexa is not responding. Having read this community it looks like the mic is not on. However I cannot get the mic to activate by pressing or swiping the mic button. Any ideas please. Thank you in advance

AirPlay 2 devices can be used without WiFi. The Apple HomePod has AirPlay 2, and can be used without WiFi. I've tested with my Sonos One, and was disappointed to find this isn't possible. Is this something that might be supported in the future? This would be a welcome enhancement for so many of us that would like to use Sonos without a network.

I just recently bought Sonos for my home audio set up. I am absolutely thrilled with it so far. I am using the Connect to control my original sound system, which is in NAD amp and preamp running to ELAC speakers and sub. I also have two Sonos One speakers set up as a stereo pair in a different room. Alexa is controlling those speakers fine. But what I want to do is be able to control the Connect device using Alexa. I have read many threads, and so far, I am not getting a straight answer. I also own two Echo Dots. Do I need to use one of those, to make the Connect unit hear my Alexa commands? The Connect does not seem to hear my commands, even though I have a grouped it with my other two Sonos speakers. Those two speakers are in a totally different room, and probably can’t hear me when I give the commands. What is the correct methodology here. There has to be a way to do this.

Just got a new Sonos Amp. Trying to connect the Amazon Echo Dot to it to control it with Alexa. I had this set up correctly before with the Sonos Connect. But with the Sonos Amp, I cant figure out how to set it up successfully. Im also running two Sonos Ones with Alexa built in. There are so many different ways to set this up that Im getting lost here. How do I do this correctly?

Hello! I have tried adding my speakers to my Smartthings system dozens of times and the device is not found. Is it necessary to install some SmartApp before doing the search of the speakers?

I've seen a bunch of threads on using Connect or Play 5 to connect up a single audio device. My Sonos replaced my entire home theater system so I don't have a good way to connect my CD player and turntable. I may go NAS some day, but not in the near future, so I want to keep utilizing the CD player. Here's my current setup: Playbar, sub, and two One's for surround. The Playbar is connected via optical cable to my LG OLED TV. The TV has an RCA input (via adapter) and I have connected the turntable to it. However, the TV shuts the sound down after a few minutes, likely because there is no video component coming in. That leaves me with no way to connect the turntable or the CD changer to the Sonos network. Am I correct that I could buy the Connect along with an RCA selector switch (4 in, 1 out) and the Connect would play whichever input is selected out to all of the speakers? Any conflict with the Playbar being connected via the optical cable to the TV? What happens if the

Does anyone have any direct experience with Samsung QLED and a 5.1 SONOS setup? I just purchased a Samsung Q9 television. I'm wondering if the TV's optical port outputs a proper 5.1 signal to use in a home theater setup. The Playbar only uses Optical/TOSLINK so I need to be absolutely sure before I sink money into a SONOS system. Thanks for any help or advice!

How do I change wake-up name (we have an Alexa in our family)

I have a Sonos play bar and 2 Sonos Ones for the rear channels. If I say "Alexa, play Billy Joel" while I'm watching TV, it switches and starts playing music. That's great. Now I want to return to the optical input of the Play Bar and start listening to the TV audio again. What do I say to switch it back? The only way I have found is to get out my phone and go through the app to switch it back. Thanks, Rob

Hi all, My Alexa with Sonos beam and sonos one was not behaving as it should constantly saying ‘I am not sure what went wrong’ so I decided to disable and deleting all the devices from Alexa app. Since, I have re-added them I am constantly getting the same message ‘Sorry I am having trouble understanding right now, please try little later’ in american accent! I have already rebooting all the devices including my router but still no luck. Is there anything else we can try? Thanks all :)

I've seen this topic addressed before, but none of the solutions seem to work for me. I have a ProJect Essential turnable set on PHONO OUT, connected to a Connect (ANALOG AUDIO IN) with cables. Volume Limit: off, at Maximum Volume 100% Line-In Source: Level 10 Use Autoplay Volume: No Line-Out Level: Variable Sound reaches my Soundbar, but volume level is very limited. Volume controls on the Connect have no effect. What setting do I have wrong?

I have a Samsung QLED tv that is hooked up to my playbar but I see there is a WiFi speaker surround sound setup available to have the sound output to my other sonos in my living room. This is grayed our though. Has anyone used this feature and got it to work? Is it grayed out because I have the playbar plugged into the tv?

I’m trying to setup my Echo Spot to play music to my stereo pair of Sonos Ones without having to say “Alexa play music on ,” using the Preferred Speaker setting in the Alexa app’s Groups function. My speaker shows up in the app and I select it as my preferred speaker, but asking Alexa to “play music” as the configuration screen suggests still plays it through the Echo itself. So far, I’ve tried: 1. Disabling the Sonos skill and removing the Sonos as a device, then re-adding it. And 2. Setting up the Alexa group both with and without my speaker in it (both scenarios allow me to set the Sonos pair as my Preferred Speaker). Neither of these have helped. What else should I try? Am I missing something?

Hello, I'm a newbie in the community (but a passionate Sonos user). I got my first Sonos one a few weeks ago. I'm planning to take it temporarily to a friend's vacation house for a few days, which means I will have to unplug and connect to a new wifi network. In my limited experience, I noticed that I would lose all my previous set up, especially the music streaming services (unfortunately I have quite a few to log in). I am really hoping my Sonos will remember all my previous set up, especially the music services when I plug it back to my home. I did some research but did not find anything helpful. Does anyone know what's the best way to do it? Thanks so much.

Our living room is 20x16 feet. I have Denon AVR1601 Dolby Digital Audio/Video Receiver and JBL S26 speakers that I bought used 15 years ago. They still work but we don't use them much at all. We mostly use Spotify with the TV (Samsung Electronics UN40KU7000 40-Inch 4K Ultra HD Smart LED TV -- 2016 Model). We are Apple users and would like to update the sound system setup, which has been clearly neglected. Our kitchen is 20x11 feet. The kitchen is close to the living room (no doors in-between). I just discovered Sonos and need advice. What kind of setup Sonos should I do for the kitchen and the living room? I'm thinking Sonos One for the kitchen. For the living room, I'm still confused. On one hand, I think Sonos Beam would be more than enough for the living room. Maybe expand from there later. In this case, I'll probably get rid of (sell?) my old speakers and receiver. On the other hand wouldn't it be better to get a Sonos Amp and hook the TV and the existing sp

Hi and thanks in advance: I have 2 Sonos Ones, a Play 5, a Playbar and a Playbase. I just got a HomePod. Partially because I was curious and particularly because I am the 1 person who prefers Siri to Alexa. Simple question: If I start music on Sonos is there any way for me to tell the HomePod to play that same music? It seems that the answer is no, but just wanted to double check. I know I can go the other way (have Sonos start playing music I started on the HomePod), which is really very cool. FWIW, my house is an open floor plan and I am getting no latency issues between the Sonos and the HomePod. Sounds great.

I have three zones, 5.1, and 2 2.0. I want to use a single Onkyo reciever (RZ830) with three Sonos connects to play three different streams at the same time. Is this possible? Has anyone connected two or mor connects to a single reciever?

Hi This may have been asked before but I have no idea how to frame a search for my question. I currently have a beam and two play:1s as surround sounds speakers. For music I have set the play:1s to ‘Full’. I am thinking of purchasing the Sonos Sub. My question is how this would it work for music with the Play:1 speakers set to full. Would the sub still be used for music. And should the sub be placed near the play:1 speakers for the best music experience. Don’t get me wrong - I want it to sound good for movies and such but I want to prioritize music. If Sonos bring out new play:3 type speakers I may eventually replace the play:1s for that. I love the stereo separation but two play:5s would be too much for surround sound IMO and my room is not that big! Thoughts and suggestions much appreciated. Thanks Andrew.

So I have a client that has two building separated by a parking lot. The buildings have two completely different network but they do have a site to site VPN tunnel connecting the two networks. For these purposes I'll refer to these as site A and site B going forward. The network at site A is 192.168.1.x and the network at site B is 192.168.2.x The client would like to have a controller on their front desk computer at site A be able to control 2 speaks located at site A and two speakers located at site B that pump music into the customer waiting areas. Is this possible?

Hi all, just got a new tv and a beam, set up using Sky Q and it’s well out of sync, tried using the setting to alter the sync issue but the more I go, the worse it gets. So on 0ms is the beast I can get but it’s out. Connected via HDMI Arc, No issues using Apple TV, or Netflix from the smart tv, just Sky. Any help?? Tv is Sony AF8 oled if that helps. Really frustrating

Just started having this trouble today. I ask Alexa to play a song from Spotify. I receive confirmation from Alexa about the song but then nothing plays. I can play music from the Sonos Controller app on my computer and from the Sonos app itself, but the Spotify app will not connect to my Sonos One. Any help to offer?
