In the past when "Advanced" settings disappeared, it meant you needed to upgrade your controller app. I did, but the advanced setting still didn't appear. So I called support and I was told SONOS has removed this from the desktop controller app for technical reasons. Hmmm?, it used to be there. It used to work. I was told to use my phone app as most people use their phone and "it is the way of the future". I have a Microsoft Surface Pro. Maybe someone should tell Microsoft they are not 'in the future'. I also checked my iPad - removed. I have speaker drops on line-in and use the 'compress' setting for music over line-in. But, when I play videos the compression delay (about 1.5 seconds) doesn't sync with the motion, so I go uncompressed and deal with the drop-outs. I don't really want to be part of "the future" if I have to watch videos on a tiny phone or have to have both devices to effectively use SONOS. Silly. Hello, I have a playbar, sub and two play 1 As rear surround. The play 1’s work when the TV is on however they are not working when playing music through the playbar from the app. On the older version of the app there was a setting under room settings to have the surrounds on when playing music from the app. This appears to have disappeared... any ideas?

Hello, I am tech challenged and I have 2 Sonos One speakers which I control with my phone and a tablet. Recently my phone broke and was replaced...I also changed wireless so have a new router and service. The problem is that I have lost all my playlists stored with my Sonos system and am unsure how to restore/find them. On my phone, I have a new Sonos App, and just set up my 2 Speakers by "factory resetting" them as instructed on a youtube video. They then were found and reattached as new speakers and are working again. Are the playlists stored IN the speakers? If so, have I lost them forever by resetting? I assumed that my tablet, which has not changed, was storing the playlists but find that it needed to search and find my "New"system and shows no playlists as well...:( My playlists were sourced primarily from my Amazon Prime Music account, but no personal stored music files. If lost, how can i prevent losing all these hours of creating playlists I have set up in the future?

Hey, I suspect that commercial issues might prevent this, given the Apple and Amazon mix, but can you confirm whether there are any plans to extend the Alexa functionality to have Apple Music as a default library? I know I can start Apple Music using the app, but I wonder whether it will be possible to set it as the default streaming service in the Sonos Alexa skill in future? Great job with the app btw!

i have recently purchased a Sonos Beam and a single Sons One Speaker. I have connected both Speakers, but when i group the Sonos One (i only have the one speaker) with the Beam to enjoy TV sound, there is a distinct echo from the speakers - almost as if the Sonos One is slightly delayed. How do I balance the speakers to get a rich sound, I plan to (when i am able) to buy a second Sonos One, but in the interim I was hoping you could advise how I best balance the TV sound with the Beam and my single Sonos One?

I have a Playbar under the TV and sub and would like to add a Play 1 on each side for better stereo. Will that work and are there any set up tricks to follow? Thanks.

Now that Alexa is available in Spain I am trying to set up Alexa with Sonos skill but the skill does not appear in the app when searching for it. Not sure if this is a problem with Sonos, Amazon or what. Any workardound even if it means to use Alexa in english? Thanks

I have two Play 1's and one Play 5. I am wondering, how can I connect my existing TV to my Sonos system so that I can play sound from Netflix through my Sonos speakers? My TV is not a SmartTV. Is this possible or do I need to buy something else to connect them?

Hi guys I went through the community topics and found a few posts about similar issues i am facing, however not the exact same one. Here the challenge: I have a projector and an apple TV. Now i am looking for a sound system to connect those products together, with the least cables possible. I was thinking to get a Beam. But: As the projector (and apple tv box) is behind the coach, i would not like to have a cable from the projector all the way to the front wall (about 4-5 meters). I have read about the approach where you put a HDMI switcher/spliter between the projector and the apple TV/Sonos, however, this would really not be practical as then i have a cable from the back of my living room all the way to the front. Is there any other way around that? I am thinking Airplay II etc... Thanks in advance

Hi all, If I were to have two separate 3.5mm mono connectors with the left signal to one speaker and another with the right signal to a second speaker and setting this up with uncompressed signal transfer. How would the stereo separation be? Has anyone tried this? I'm assuming I'd get a 70ms delay but I'm ok with that. What kind of jitter could one expect from a setup like this? Thanks Anders

I just bought a connect amp that is connected to my speakers in the kitchen. I also purchased a Play 5 speaker that I control directly via the iphone app. I was told that I can control the volume of each room but do not see how this works. Any help would be appreciated.

I know this topic has been raised before but I am having problems with my Sonos set up. I have a Cocktail X10 with all my old CDs loaded on it in WAV format and connected to my router through a pair of Line Feed Adapters (TP Link AV1200 3-port 1200Mbps). The other end of the line feed adapters is plugged directly into the router. I also have a Sonos Boost, again plugged directly into the router. When I try to play music from the Cocktail X10 I get the "network connection speed insufficient to maintain playback buffer" message on my phone. Can anyone please explain how the network speed can be an issue, as to my mind I am not using the wireless network. The Sonos Boost is doing the job of carrying the signal from the router to the speakers and the line feed adapters are carrying the signal from the Cocktail X10 to the router. I know that the line feed adapters are doing their job because I have the TV plugged into one of the ports and that works for streaming catch up TV ov

SONOS needs to embrace wider voice connection than just Amazon Music. Google Play Music allows for far more flexibility and ease of access to personal music collections. My phone does it, my SONOS should!

I was excited to discover Plex so I can listen to my live concert collection via Sonos, and the only thing I really need is the same gapless playback support currently in place for other music services like Spotify, Pandora, Live Phish and nugs.net. Having trouble getting audio from turntable onto the other Sonos speakers via Connect. I currently have my turntable hooked up to a Marantz receiver with two bookshelf speakers. Sounds great. I also have an optical cord going OUT from Connect to the optical IN on the receiver. This allows me to hear my streaming music on my Sonos system through the bookshelf. How do I get my turntable audio on to the rest of my sonos speakers? As it stands, I have them connected into the Phono IN on the receiver, so to hear them, I must switch the input from the TV digital (which I use to hear the Sonos system via optical through the receiver and speakers) to Phono. I tried plugging the Turntable RCA directly into the COnnect IN with the hopes that the optical out would allow me to hear it through the system but no dice. Any suggestions?

I made a decision to buy a sonos beam, but if i read the futher details i see that the beam onl works with the apple tv gen 4 ?? So is there anybody wo can tell me if the generation 2 apple tv also works?
