I am using the Sonos One I received today. I’ve got everything set up properly I believe but here’s the issue I’m having... the music plays fine through sonos app and commands but any non sonos commands aren’t outputting through the speaker. For example, if I ask for the flash briefing it will tell me “here’s your flash briefing” and then nothing will come out of the speaker. Same for “sleep sounds.” If I ask it to play a sleep sound it will say it’s playing but it won’t actually play. Seems to be the skill outputs but I could be wrong. My echo dot is working fine.

With all the recent reports and issues with the WannaCry ransomware I wanted to restrict use of SMB v1 on my home network. My NAS blocks this to the outside world but I wanted to secure things internally as well. I can configure the NAS to not support SMB v1 but this then prevents the Sonos controller app from seeing the share. When will Sonos support later versions of SMB? I had seen another thread on this somewhere and it sounded like it wasn't going anywhere. Is it possible to get an update on this please.

On this moment I have a Playbar, two play 3s and a sub. It sounds great! but it would be very nice if there is a future to make a setup, and create a shortcut to that setup. I give an example: In my case when I watch TV the volume of the Sub is under 50% of his power. The surround speakers are calibrated as left speaker near 0,6 m right speaker more away 3m. Volume 65% and in ambient modus With this settings I have the best surround effects. When I listen to music, the Sub is above 50% of his power. The surround speakers are calibrated as left speaker 3 m right speaker 3m. and in “full” modus With this settings I have the best sound to play loud music. Now when I want to play music I need to [open Sonos-app -- tap left corner -- tap left corner again -- tap settings -- tap settings room -- tab Livingroom -- tap advanced audio -- tap calibrating audio (and walk through the wizard) -- tap back -- tap settings SUB -- change the volume. -- tap back -- tap surround -- tap full --

Hey all, So I am looking into upgrading my sound. Right now I just have a single Sonos One. However, I do have Logitech z313 speakers that I would love to integrate. And I have Vizio Smart Tv that would love to intergate as well. However, I am a little confused about Sonos Amp and Connect:Amp. I am not sure which one would be better for this set up and the differences I need to know. Also, will my Sonos One voice command have any issues with this set up?

I'm frustrated and annoyed with two Sonos Ones. I operate holiday lets in Devon and have recently set up three luxury Shepherds Huts in an orchard on a hill overlooking our local river valley. In two of the huts I put Sonos One - in the third I put an Echo Plus because it supports Bluetooth and I've also put a small Audio-Technica Bluetooth turntable and a headphone amp and nice headphones; the turntable can stream to the Echo Plus but Sonos don't support Bluetooth. I liked the idea of smart speakers for all sorts of reasons, including easy access to music, but also because I could set up Amazon blueprints and give my guests a personalised guide: 'where's the best pub in the area', 'where's the nearest supermarket', 'how do I light the fire' and so on. The Echo Plus has worked faultlessly but the Sonos 1's have been very frustrating and I'm on the verge of sending them back and replacing them with two Echo Pluses despite the slightly lower sound quality. We’ve been using Alexa with Sonos since the Beta test and everything’s been hunky dory until last week I’ve replaced a couple of Sonos with Sonos ones and in doing so lost the hard wired link to the Mac. After a bit of faff I’ve reconnected and all seems to work from the desktop and app but sadly Alexa seems to have issues when you ask her to play radio or music she does the usual “bbc radio 2 from tunein” followed by “sorry the device is offline” I’ve tried searching for devices etc but nothing seems to work. Any advice greatfully received. Thanks

I recently bought a Sonos Beam soundbar and love the quality of sound from it. However, I have noticed the volume fluctuates quite a bit regardless of the audio source. I can be watching tennis or a movie and the volume is fine at '3' or '4' (out of '100'). Other times it needs to be at '33' or '34'. One time, the volume was at '0' (no, not muted) but sound was still clearly coming out. Anyone else having this problem? I notice it as well when we stream content via Apple TV (aka it's not just a 'cable' problem). The only way I can 'fix' this problem is by opening the app every time it happens (which is frankly too often) and zeroing out the volume by turning it all the way down and then slowly, one-by-one, using the TV remote to increase it to the desired level. I definitely had thoughts about buying additional Sonos One's to make the system true surround-sound but if I have to constantly reset/restart the volume each time I use it, it kinda turns me off from the idea of ow

I'm planning a surround sound setup based on this recommendation from the website: "Use two Sonos Amps (one for the front right and left channels, the other for the rear channels) for surround sound. The Sonos Amp drives left and right speakers, and it will create a phantom center channel when sent discrete audio for that channel." My question is about adding a 3rd AMP to power a non-Sonos, passive subwoofer. Can I connect the sub out from the 1st AMP to a 3rd AMP to power that subwoofer? Or do I need to use a non-Sonos amp for this application?

Hi, I have a Play5 stereo set-up with sub (plus a Connect). I want to be able to use all my sources through this system. Spotify TV LP-Player Can I use the following: Loewe TV coaxial output to DA-converter, RCA to Connect (TV sound). From Connect wireless to Play 5s. Reading through the forum several users have reported Sonos Controller App for Android to work before on ChromeOS / Chromebooks, however, it does not any more. I would like to request official support of ChromeOS/Chromebooks through Android.

Does sound beam handle DSD format via HDMI? If yes then I think I can play SACD on my disc player outputing DSD to the TV via HDMI and then DSD onto SONOS sound bean via ARC HDMI from my TV.

So I am trying to connect my sonos beam to my projector. However the projector only has the red,white, yellow, etc outlets and the beam has the digital optical cable. I bought the adapter but I have tried every possible way to get it to work however the sonos alway says it doesn’t detect any sound coming from the “tv” (projector). The projector work as we hve our PlayStation hooked up to it and it is playing that sound but not through the speaker. What else do I try..?

We are able to inially hear the record on the TRNTBL playing over the Sonos. The problem happens when trying to switch to Pandora and back to TRNTBL. When switching back to TRNTBL with a record playing TRNTBL does not reconnect to Sonos. Sonos shows I’ve selected Line In but continues to play Pandora. I have run a ping test and verified the TRNTBL is staying connected to my WiFi. Has anyone experienced this? Can anyone help me.

I just bought a Beam and 2 Play 1 speakers. I have tinnitus and hearing loss. I bought the system so I could put speakers closer to where is it but I can't hear them over the Beam bar. Is there a way to turn up the Play speakers without turning up the Beam. I feel like I've wasted $700 as it's not any better than my tv speakers if I can't adjust speaker vu.es separately.

Since a few weeks Deezer loses the connection after about 2 minutes of a song. It doesn't matter if I use it via the Sonos app or via Alexa. Deezer support tells me they don't see the problem because it works well in their office. If Deezer doesn't realize that this is a problem, they're not working to solve it either. Has anyone from the Sonos community solved the problem - have they seen that it's been posted similarly several times...?

Hi all, I'm pretty new to Sonos (borrowed and returned a pair of Play 1's) and I've been thinking about getting a Beam which will eventually become part of a surround sound set up with a Macbook/PC, an amp/hub out to a couple of Play 1's and a projector. In the meantime I want to play tunes from Spotify using e.g. the Sonos app and audio from movies (e.g. on Youtube from an iPhone, or iTunes using a Macbook Pro) using Airplay 2. Does anyone know if you can use Airplay 2 to play the audio from videos without there being a Smart TV or Apple TV or similar in the mix etc? E.g.; 1. Can I watch a video on youtube via Safari on my phone and hear the sound from the Beam? 2. Can I watch a movie or TV via iTunes, iDVD, Safari, or VLC etc on a Macbook and get the audio out of the beam (ideally in stereo) in sync with the images? Essentially, can you use Airplay 2 to treat the Beam as a Bluetooth speaker? Apologies if this has been asked before, I've not been able to find a c

Hi, since I updated my speaker with the new software yesterday (14 July 18) it stops playing music when my iPhone goes into sleep mode. It only seems to do it when I’m playing music from my phone as I had the radio on today and it worked fine for hours. It seems to be since the Sonos controller was removed from my locked screen. Hi there, I have a TV surround setup, with a Playbase, 2 x Play:3, and a Sub, purchased last year and all of which initially (first few weeks) worked perfectly. There now seems to be something wrong with the wifi connectivity in the Playbase. I tried setting up the system again twice from scratch, with the Playbase is no longer configurable over wifi - I had to resort to connecting it directly to my network via an ethernet cable. Is there a fix for this issue? I really don't want to run ethernet cables to the 2 x Play:3's and Sub as well Regards Mick

Maybe they have been available for a while? But I only noticed when playing a podcast yesterday evening. It's been much needed and is a great help (I'm using Pocketcasts integration - don't know if it's specific to that?)

I have a customer who wants an outdoor TV with outdoor speakers. I'm thinking of using a Sonos Amp for his TV audio and extending HDMI over Cat6 to his mechanical closet where the Amp is in the dry. My question is will ARC work over an extender? The run is about 60 FT.
