Beam + Single Homepod

I have a Beam which I like, but I would prefer a bit more so I'm thinking of getting some play 1 for surrounds. However, most of my smart home is Homekit so I would like a Homepod. I pretty much only watch TV through an Apple TV so I know I could connect up a Homepod through this.

My question is, has anyone used a Beam and a Homepod at the sametime? If it's even possible, I'm concerned it would create a bit of an odd effect. The only things I can find online are comparisons between them rather than both at once!

Thanks

yes you can you airplay from the apple tv to the homepod with the beam conected via hdmi or optical to your main tv

or airplay from the apple tv to the homepod and beam with the hdmi cable disconected

i have tested both methods you need a strong wi-fi connection for perfect sync

or geting two play:1's and pairing them with the beam is a good option aswell
