Before I purchase another Sonos, does anyone know if a way to connect a device to the Sonos One? The Audio Technica has Bluetooth pairing, but it's not clear how to connect the ONE to anything other than a computer or phone?

I have a Play 1 in the kitchen and it works fine with our Echo. My kids both have Echo Dots in their rooms and I have noticed that when one of my kids is playing music on the Dot in their room, when they are requesting something from Alexa on the Dot, the Play 1 speaker volume goes very quiet. Note - they are not playing the music on the Play 1, the scenario is I am usually listening to the radio and they are listening to their rubbish music on the dot! This is basically what happens on the Echo devices when they are playing music and you interrupt with the "Alexa", they mute to listen to what you are saying. It's not really a serious issue, but it is annoying, especially as my kids love hopping through tracks on playlists! Is there a solution for this problem or is it just something I need to live with?

Is it possible to connect a sonos to a web TV without a beam?

I am using 4 Sonos One in different rooms of my appartment and everything worked flawlessly with Alexa until a few weeks ago. I used to be able to tell Alexa to "play radio in the kitchen" and it would start playing my last tune-in station in the kitchen AND all the rooms in the same group. When I use the same command now, Alexa ungroups all my Sonos players and starts playing that radio station only in the kitchen. After doing some reading on how to resolve the issue, I created a group within the Alexa app, which I called "Sonos" and tried the command "play radio on Sonos". This does actually prompt her to play radio on all 4 speakers, but she first asks me "what would you like to hear?". No matter what I answer, she always just seems to pick an arbitrary radio station from tune-in and start playing that one. I must have tried dozens of times, but there is no way she'd start playing the one tune-in station I want her to play on my 4 speakers... which has never been a problem before

Hello All, Since I was not able to wait for the sonos / google home support. I decided to get a chromecast audio and hook it up to my sonos connect. The setup seems to be right. When I ask google assistant to play any kind of audio stream on my "sonos"(connect with chromecast audio) she plays the right music. When streamingh howeever I experience dropouts in all of th grouped sonos speakers. There does not seem to be any consitent dropouts at times it works fine. All of the grouped speaker drop out now and then. I Have a gouped home system with two play ones, a playbar, a sub and two paired play ones in the kitchen.. Who has an ideau why the dropouts occur? Hi everyone, I hope someone can help me here... cause I've been losing my mind with this issue ever since I got my Beam a couple months back. Background information... I own a 40 inch Samsung UHD 4K Smart TV, a Sonos Beam, and an Amazon Fire TV 4K stick. I'm trying to create as much of a remote free experience as possible. From my understanding, and my experience, just simply having a Sonos Beam will only allow you to adjust the volume and turn your TV on/off using Alexa (when it comes to TV controlling, not music). So from here I did some research and found out that purchasing an Amazon Fire TV 4K stick will bridge this gap into a more remote free experience... I'm struggling. Things I have completed word for word like a strict baker... - Connected my Sonos Beam with my Samsung TV (audio output is through Beam), used ARC HDMI - Enabled Amazon Alexa under Voice Settings in Sonos App. Signed in with my Amazon account - Added Sonos as a Smart Skill (and enabled) on Alexa

I just recently purchased the Beam because of the Alexa integration. All my other Echo devices support the Apple Music skill, but the Sonos Beam seems to not support this. I know this is a very new skill, but I am curious if this is going to be added in a future update?

I have 2 Amazon echos and just picked up a Sonos player 1 pair of speakers from Costco. I have one of my echos paired with my receiver, which is a Denon. I have an “everywhere” group in m the Alexa app and can play music through both echos in different rooms. I can’t get the Sonos speakers to play with both echos. Is this not possible? Thanks for any help you guys can provide. I searched around but couldn’t find an article or thread about this type of configuration. I can get the Sonos to play with a specific “family room” group with one of the echos.

Hi, new to Sonos but loving it! I have a Beam and two Play 1’s in my Living Room setup. My question is about surround sound. It seems like most of the characters on TV speak via the Beam and not through the Plays on each side of the couch. What comes out of the Plays is mostly music and some effects. Often this overshadows the speaking which is then hard to hear. I’ve gone into advanced settings and played with the surround sound but doesn’t help much. I’m a bit confused by them too though. What is ‘TV level’ anyway? What about music as ambient or full? Does this mean these settings are only for my Plays? I also noticed in About My Sonos system, on the Beam I SOMETIMES see Dolby 5.1 but don’t see Dolby anything on the Plays. Is this normal? On my Samsung TV the sound settings are set to HDMI input, which is presumably my Beam. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Surround sound works with tv & Netflix but not when music is played i.e music channels only the beam plays music. 2x play 1 Beam

I know that this is an age-old SONOS question. But, this is a new device and I am hoping. Can the new AMP handle DTS from my Blu-Ray player? Can the new AMP handle HDMI Audio: up to 7.1ch/192kHz PCM, up to 5.1ch DSD, Bitstream. This is from DVD-Audio and/or SACD player. (OPPO UDP-203) Thanks

Brand new Sonos Play: 1 Would like to add music to Sonos player/controller/software. Under the Manage menu, everything is greyed out. Mac is running Yosemite 10.10 Lastest Sonos software on speaker and on computer (mac) Tried uninstalling Sonos software, resetting software, restarting speaker... Still wont work???

Hi, I recently setup a system in my condo of five Sonos Play-Ones and two Sonos Ones. My condo is 940 square feet and I was having some drop outs with the modem/router that my service provider supplied me with once I went from five speakers to seven as I added the two Ones to replace Echo Dots I had in the rooms. I've always been told that the routers supplied by cable companies are not the best in terms of signal strength and I've had drop outs on my PC which in my office the furthest away from the router. So I bought a new D-link router that was supposed to have better signal coverage, but the performance of my system was worse. The cable router has two networks one for 2.4 and the other for 5G, and my new D-link router just has the one network but is dual band. I don't know if that is an issues as I've read that Sonos products run on 2.4 as it usually has a stronger signal then 5G. Hi all. I have my Sonos Beam connected to a Sony 55x850d through it’s single HDMI ARC port. The Beam is connected to two Sonos One, running 5.0 surround sound (no SUB). I am able to get Dolby Digital 5.1 through certain apps (Netflix) running directly through the TV, but not through my XBox One X. The XBox only transmits stereo, whether I am running games or playing movies. I have the audio settings on the Xbox set to transmit 5.1 uncompressed. Do I have a setting wrong? How do I get 5.1 from the Xbox to work?

I’m relatively new to both Sonos and Alexa, being about 4 weeks in. I’ve run into my first challenge with my Sonos One units no longer executing Alexa commands. The microphones are on, the units recognize the wake word and appear to begin listening, but regardless of the command there’s no response for a while then a noise that I assume is the listening ending. When I check the Alexa app, nothing registered. My Dot and Echo are functioning just fine. It appears the Sonos isn’t hearing the commands, or they’re not being passed along to Alexa. I tried deregistering one pair (living room) and adding it back, but no luck. Is there a protocol for resolving this? Thanks

We bought echo dots for our kids and they interrupt the music streaming on our Sonos every time they ask Alexa a question (which is a lot...). Is there a way to stop this in the settings for Sonos or Alexa?

Has anyone noticed that if you group two rooms together via the Sonos app ( say Kitchen & Den) and then ask Alexa to change a radio station or turn off e.g Alexa turn off the Kitchen then both the Kitchen and Den will follow the instruction but the grouping will be lost. Any pointers to correcting this would be gratefully recieved. Thanks Peter

For some reason, my Alexa app listed three Sonos speakers when I only have two, so I decided to clean it up. Since I couldn't match the Serial No on the Alexa app to my Sonos Speakers, I didn't know which one to delete, therefore I decided to delete all three Sonos speakers and go through the set up again. Unfortunately, its not working now. After re-adding all my devices on the Alexa app, Alexa on my Sonos One was saying "Having trouble understanding you right now, try again later". So I found a discussion thread on this site telling me to disable, then re-enable, voice services. Unfortunately I cannot re-enable it now. Is Sonos developing waterproof speakers?

If I ask an Echo Spot to "Play Rock Music on Kitchen", it will play a Rock Music station from Amazon Music on my 'Kitchen' SONOS speaker. But will the screen of the Spot show what's playing? i.e. will I see album artwork etc. for the song that is currently playing on the SONOS? If so, will it also show lyrics for songs where lyrics are available?

Playbase +LS+RS (Play:1) There is only a quiet hissing-sound from back speakers when the source is stereo, works fine when source is 5.1. Every other reputable surround system will provide some sounds to the back speakers (same stereo as front) when this happens, but Sonos will not (unless playing music). Is there a way to fix this in settings? Kinda sucks not to have any sound in back channels when only providing stereo, a copy of front stereo with a volume setting would do a lot.

I’ve been trying to figure out ifnit is possible to tell an echo show to transfer the music that’s playing to a Sonos Beam. I can’t find the answer and I’m assuming it can’t be done. It would be great to tell our echo show to continue the music (transfer or switch it) to our Sonos Beam (or any other Sonos device). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I cannot seem to get my tv to push sound out of my beam! This is frustiating me so bad. I have all the cables set up... in the arc, it’s added and I have the app. The TV sound is off one I plug it in but it’s not producing sound out of the beam! Help.
