I cant connect my Samsung 55 inch to the Sonos Beam tried everything in the manual and phone support but nothing help anyone!

I'm looking to add the Sonos Beam to my two Sonos Ones in order to get a surround sound while watching Netflix. It doesn't look like any of the current streaming devices (Chromecast, Roku, Amazon, my Sony x720E TV) allow me to do that, as they output DD+ and the Beam only accepts DD. To me, this seems like such a basic use case for this device. Do any of you have a suggestion how I could make it work? Happy to buy the Beam today, but need to know that I can use it for the advertised use case :)

1st Problem I ordered 2 Sonos One speakers on 11/22/2018 from the Sonos web site. The order process went without issues. I was sent an email that said what I was charged and that the product would be delivered and set up on 11/28/2018. I also got an email from my credit card company saying there was a charge from Sonos that was an amount 20.81 larger than what my Sonos invoice said. I still don't understand how and why Sonos can actually charge more than they quoted me in their invoice. 2nd Problem I received a 2nd email today reminding me of the following: "Just a reminder, your Sonos delivery is today. Your expert will call or text you prior to your delivery to confirm a precise time. If your expert can't reach you, then they cannot deliver your product." The on line status of the order has never changed from pending. I have no idea how my expert is going to call or text me because I was never asked for my phone number. I assume that my product will not be deliver

The whole point of buying beam was to integrate my play 5 in with the TV and voice control. But I discovered that doing so loses core functionality of being able to play records or CDs or anything via line in. Has anyone figured out a work around for this?

Have two play 3’s,bar, and sub. Have found advantages to both options depending on what I’m listening to. Is this literally just a personal preference option, or am I missing something entirely?

Hi, Sorry I am a newbie. In our 6 Meters x 8 Meters Family room we have 2 Play5's and a Sub which sounds just amazing when we play music. In our TV room which is about 4.5 Meters x 5 Meters we have a Playbar and a Sub. I am now thinking of adding in 2 x Ones for surround sound. My questions on this setup are : 1) Does a surround sound system make a difference when listening to music? 2) I think this has been answered elsewhere but does anyone know or #Sonos #FeatureRequest if the Ones can be used with Airplay once they are bonded to the HT?

I finally got alexa to recognize my sonos 1 speakers. When I give the command to play music on sonos, alexa states that amazon music is streaming on two divices and asks if I want to stream on sonos. I answer yes, and the music plays on both devices, alexa and the sonos speakers, when i say no, the music only plays on alexa. I only want the music to play on sonos...How do I do that.

Hello community, This question probably has been asked before, but I can't seem to find it on the forums: Currently I own a sonos Playbar and Sub. I'm thinking about expanding it to a 5.1 surround setup with 2 play one's. However, I also want to listen to music every now and then with a play one in another room. I'm not planning on buying 3 of them, but I want to move a single play one between rooms. Is it easy to move one of the play one's to the study room and just listen to the music on that speaker? Is it also easy to move the speaker back to the living room whenever I want to watch a movie, or does it require setting up the room every single time? Thanks in advance for the answers!

I am trying to connect a new TV to my speakers. I am connecting the TV using an optical cable and a RCA converter that goes into the INPUT ports on my connect I am getting some sounds but it keeps cutting thru my speakers but it keeps cutting off

WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT ! I bought a Sonos One. I just wanted to be able to use the Alarm, in Musical mode (via Spotify, TuneIn, or Deezer), as a Radio-clock radio. "("Alexa, please wake me up at 7:30, with the Beatles, on Spotify") This is a very simple feature, which can logically be expected from the Sonos and Alexa wedding. ...Only Sonos Customer Support tells me that this feature...is not available. Can I use the Sonos Conect:Amp with 1 pair of Bose outdoor speakers (Model 101 Series II Music Monitor)? The Connect:Amp shows to be rated 55w @ 8 ohms, while each Bose shows rated 40w @ 6 ohms.

I have had two Play 1 speakers working since 2016.We recently had to change router and now the controller app version 9.2.1 (on a Samsung SM-T310) won't work as the app states "The software on this device is outdated.......", and won't go any further in letting me try to re-connect the system.The Android version is 4.4.2 and the notes for version 9.2.1 shows it works on Android version 4.4. Does anyone, particularly Sonos, know what is going on here? Can I get a software version that works with Android 4.4.2 as this tablet won't update to anything newer? Help!!!!

Hi all, new to the forum but first time poster. Never had any issues with Sonos products so never felt the need to ask a question. I have recently purchased the Beam, very impressed with its sound etc. but what is really bugging me is being able to switch back to TV audio after playing music through the Beam? I’m connected via ARC HDMI I see many similar questions on here but none of the answers have helped me. I don’t have Alexa enabled as I have kids and they just shout Alexa all day so that isn’t an option for me. That leaves me with the Sonos app. I click on the Beam then “browse” and that’s where I become stuck. I keep pressing TV but nothing happens. The only way to get TV sound back through the Beam is turning the TV off by the plug, not even turning off via standby helps. It’s pretty poor from Sonos really I must admit. I have tried all settings in TV and app but had no success. I wondered if anyone had any other ideas? I actually upgraded from a Bose system, never h

I’ve looked through every post imaginable on this but not found a solution unfortunately but my apologies if it is out there somewhere (if so, PLEASE point me in the right direction) I just purchased a ring Video Doorbell 2. All is working great with it but I am trying to automate it so that when it is pressed a chime (preferably an mp3) plays on my Sonos speakers (Sonos 1 x 3, Sonos 3 & beam) and then resumes whatever is playing (or just plays the chime if nothing was playing at the time). I’ve got it half working through IFTTT but when it is pressed it loops the mp3 continuously (which my kids love as it was saying, “HO HO HO, Merry Christmas” over and over and over… :D )

Inside the Alexa app under devices I can see my Sonos beam and 2 Sonos ones. When I click on any of them it opens up a new screen with a volume slider. How do you turn on and control the night mode in the new Beam?

I want to create a home theater using an [b]Optoma UHD60 [/b]projector and [b]Sonos 5.1 Surround Set with Playbar and Sonos One speakers[/b]. I am thinking of connecting a [i]PC or Raspberry Pie[/i] to the [i]projector[/i]. As I see the [i]playbar [/i]has to connect to the [i]projector [/i]via [b]optical in[/b]. [i]UHD60 [/i]has an [i]optical out[/i] so I am thinking of connecting the projector to the playbar with a [i]long optical cable[/i]. My questions are: 1. Is this connection [i]proper[/i] for this setup to [b]work[/b]? 2. Does this connection provide [b]5.1 surround sound[/b]? 3. Does the long optical cable have [b]audio quality loss[/b]? 4. Is it ok to connect the optical cable to the [i]projector[/i] or is it better to find a [b]source[/b] with optical out?

Hi, Whenever I use the "shuffle" feature, it always "shuffles" in the same order. Is there any way to have it shuffle the order differently? I thought it would be a random shuffle but on my system it is not random at all - always the same order. (Or maybe I am incredibly lucky and should play the lottery?). Is there a way to either mix up the shuffle order, or to have it actually shuffle in a different random order each time I choose the shuffle option? Thanks! Juggernaut

Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this and if so whether I can do anything to stop it happening? i have 2 Echo Dots in the house, one of which is located in the basement. In the mornings, while I'm listening to the radio (via Tune in) on my sonos equipment in my bedroom, the volume suddenly drops right down for a few seconds and then pops back up. I've realised this is because my children are chatting to Alexa in the basement and the volume drops on any and all zones until the interaction has finished. Note: the basement and bedroom zones are not joined together at the time, they are playing different music sources. In fact, I'm not even sure that anything is being played in the basement at the time.
