Greetings, first time poster. I thought I had a simple solution to the lack of a headphone connection in my Sonos setup. And I was not interested in spending money on a Connect if I didn't need to. [b]Why not, I thought, have an optical audio switch in line before the signal goes to the Playbase?[/b] So the audio connection would be from TV into the switch, and the switch would have two optical audio outs. One would feed the Playbase, and the other could go to my AV receiver (which is no longer the main source of output now that I have my surround setup)(a Playbase, a pair of Play:3's and a Sub. The AV receiver is perfectly fine, just unused) With a switch in line, I could choose only the output I wanted. My plan works great by manually unplugging from the Playbase, and then plugging into my AV receiver. I plug my headphones in to the AV unit, and I get my desired effect: headphone sound for me, and no output from the surround to wake up my wife. When I want to switch back to

Is there a way to reboot speakers besides unplugging? You used to be able to go to their IP and reboot from there but that was disabled. I have issues from time to time (individual speakers cutting out) and think a reboot would help from past conversations with tech support, but cannot do that now. Unplugging is not reasonable given where some of my speakers are located.

Hello everyone, I would like connect my Optoma HD27e projector + Apple TV with Sonos One's. The reason why I do ask this question is that due to some problems (no idea why it is happening), I am not able to stream all the sound from Apple TV via Airplay to Sonos. Some apps do work nicely, some apps send the audio to HDMI only and there is no way to make them play via Airplay. So my imaginery plan is to let Apple TV play everything to HDMI (projector) and connect the audio from the projector to Sonos. Just to make it sure, I do not plan to buy now or in the near future the beam, so I am looking for a solution clearly to Sonos One. What I would like to do is to connect projector to Sonos Connect and then to stream the sound to Sonos One. Is this solution feasible? If not, would that be possible with Sonos Amp? If so, will there be any audio delay? Thanks for all the advices!

Hi, If you have been following the lawsuit between SONOS and Denon related to the HEOS line of Denon products, you are probably aware that SONOS won two major court victories recently. The result so far has been that Denon has removed certain functionality from their App. Not surprising, Denon is instructing their customer service people to tell the public that certain functions were removed from the App due to 'market research'. This removal impacts me because years ago, it would seem I bet on the wrong horse. When I was setting up my house for whole home audio I went with HEOS rather than SONOS for one simple reason, I believe the HEOS speakers sound more in line what my use and taste in music. The SONOS line is setup more for treble and vocals whereas the HEOS line is setup more for raw volume and heavier bass. The HEOS App was always crap but worked most of the time, now it is kinda useless and is making it difficult to use the speakers. I find myself in the predicament

Is it possible to have a 24 room setup with PlayBar/Beams in each room, with the following scenario: Reception can see and control all 24 SONOS bars, and guests on their local VLAN can see and control only the one in their room?

Hi all I'm considering investing in a Sonos system, but have a few question before I invest in the bucks. 1. I have an Xbox One X (4K), Apple TV (4K) and Nintendo Switch (and maybe a Wii U as well). All HDMI connections. I'm using a receiver at the moment to accommodate the number of inputs. The receiver isn't 'Works with Songs' compatible. If I plan to buy a Beam, what's the best way to connect? HDMI splitter? It needs to feed through 4K and 3D. 2. I would then like to get some satellite speakers. Is there any difference with Play One and Play:1, apart from Alexa/Google Assistant? Is it worth getting two Play:5 (space isn't huge). 3. What's the 'fill' in a room from a Play:1 or One? Do I 'need' to get two for a standard sized bedroom? Or perhaps even a Play:5 4. Similar question... If I have an open planned kitchen/living room in an apartment area, do I need another speaker, say a Play:5 in somewhere to fill the open space? Or Can I use the surround theatre setup (as above) to

The volume is always louder for television commercials and it's annoying when I'm watching something with infrequent bass and then there is a commercial with a lot of perpetual bass. Can Sonos create a feature to automatically detect commercials and temporarily lower/mute the volume? I live in a condo and my neighbors know when my sub is on. When I'm watching a quite movie, stand up comedy or sports I like to keep my sub on and get intricate rounded lows — this generally doesn't bother my neighbors. Enter intense commercial with music in the backgound — this definitely bothers my neighbors. This feature can fit neatly under the TV Setup tab :)

Hello, I have a set of Play 1s and I intend to add a subwoofer. I have some cds that I cannot get on Apple Music that I would like to play. Is the Sonos Connect the only way to connect a CD player?

Currently I have a Playbar, sub, 2 play 1s in the room. I really don’t have anywhere to put the play 1’s except for a stand behind the couch which would not be ideal with 3 kids running around all the time. I thought about hanging them in the wall but it would look odd with the way the house is built. Then I thought about buying a Sonos beam and hanging it right behind the couch above an entryway which would look more aesthetically pleasing to the eye. So it brings me to my question. Would it be as effective as having 2 1’s behind me? A best buy employee "sold" my wife a Play:1 and told her it would work with her phone but the only way to use it is through the sonos app but that gives errors so I set it up for all of the music on her phone but now the music constantly skips the songs partly through the song. I read that the Sonos one works directly with airplay. My question is can a sonos one be paired with a play:1. If not I was sold a useless brick.

I just let Sonos update on my two desktops. The option to rename a speaker in Settings has disappeared. I do not own a mobile device. Can I still rename speakers from the PCs?

Hi, I went on my phone and went on to the Sonos App , i went down to click T Bedroom and it wasn't there. It completely has disappeared and I can't listen to my music through Sonos. It has always worked as I always listen to music in my room. Do you know how I add my room back in? What is the problem? 

Sonos One acts on all commands except swtitch/turn off. Very annoying. Please help

I purchased two Sonos One speakers and like any relatively new Sonos product, they are an absolute nightmare. It took about 90 minutes to get the first one to connect. The original connection attempt failed. There is no way to reattempt a failed connection. The message on the App is that the speaker is already set up....but it is not.

I have two conventional rear ceiling speakers wired to a Sonos AMP connected to my TV via HDMI ARC. Can I connect a pair of Play 5 (2nd Gen) speakers and use these as the Front Left and Front Right in a surround sound set-up? It doesn't seem like the software will let me add the AMP as surround speakers and pair up the fronts at the same time. Thanks

Hi there, I already read some posts about other people heaving problems with alexa's voice volume on the Sonos One. Some say it's not loud enough, when they have low music playing. Some say it's too loud. For me, the problem is, that Alexa is way too loud. When I mute the Sonos One and ask Alexa a question, she responds at a volume absolutely inapropriate. So I won't ask Alexa a lot in the evening, because I'm scared to wake someone up. Is this just normal on the Sonos One, is this a bug? And is Alexa supposed to be muted, when the Sonos One is muted? I would appreciate any advice. Does anyone have similar experience with the Sonos One?

I have recently got the Sonos One and find that although the volume of the music played may be set to low the voice volume of Alexa is too loud. This is especially true at night. Is there any way of correcting this?[b][/b][b][/b]

Hello, We currently have 4 Sonos Play:1s, including a pair in a L/R configuration in our living room. We have an Epson 710HD projector that I've been considering using in a home theater setup. I plan on hooking up a Roku device and Steam Link to the projector via HDMI. What I was originally planning on was getting a Play:5 since it has the line input and I was thinking I could go projector RCA out to 3.5 line input on the Play:5. In this scenario, my home theater sound would be 2x Play:1s and the Play:5. But then I realized that the projector doesn't have an audio output! To get around this, I'm considering getting an HDMI Audio Extractor Splitter so the configuration would look like this: [img]59351e7b-38e6-4f40-b407-b9e3257665dc.jpg[/img] I considered replacing the Play:5 with a Sonos Playbar but the cost of the Playbar and Subwoofer together is prohibitive. Hey, apologies if this has been asked before, I just want to check something before dropping too much money. My plan is to use my desktop as a multimedia station with an HDMI running from my 1080ti to a 4k projector (Viewsonic PX747) and the SPDIF running to the back of my playbar. I've also got 4 Sonos one's that will be in the mix. I basically just want to confirm that this setup won't incur any significant audio lag? I used to run the same setup, but with a 1080p monitor and every few weeks or so would run into incremental issues with lag (not sure why). Would appreciate any comments/advice.

Can I drive two pairs of Bose Free Space 51s with One Sonos Amp?

I have three play1 speakers throughout the house and hard wired speakers in the ceiling of the living room that I’d like to use for sonos and tv. Will an Amp work for that? Also, besides the two ceiling speakers the only other sound for tv comes out of the tv speaker itself. I would like to add a playbar or playbase and possibly a sub but would like some insight as to which hardware to purchase. Any help you can provide is much appreciated!

I have a connect amp and a playbar. I had a powered sub plugged into the amp and everything was great. I decided to add 2 bookshelf speakers to the amp as well for surround. I hooked it all up and did the surround setup in my browser. Now I only show one Sonos component and have no more signal going to the sub. The surround is working though.  I'm about ready to toss this whole system and got back to a wired setup. The sound is great but it's been a pain in the ass. If anybody can tell me how to my sub back I'd sure appreciate it.
