After an update to the Sonos software this weekend, the Alexa integration is "broken" in that now, starting music using voice commands breaks apart groups of speakers. Are there new commands, or is there a way to roll back the software version to one that actually worked? If this is the "new normal," then I will need to discuss returning all of the Sonos products I own and looking into a new Alexa compatible system.

I am worried the answer to this question is one pair only. Anyone know ?

I recently set up two Sonos connects to control my existing home speaker system. I have already had lots of issues with my WiFi so we have multiple WiFi networks throughout our home to have everyone on a good connection. However when it comes to Sonos it appears to only be able to be on one WiFi network. The network doesn’t reach either connect with that great of a signal. The problem arises that while I’m walking around my house the app seems to lose connection or can’t find the system. So my question is would it be better to buy a boost or is this a WiFi networking problem that I need to fix with wireless access points? Also would wiring one of the connects help this?

I currently have the sonos beam and 2 sonos one speakers. I'm planning on purchasing the sub asap to create 5.1 surround sound but I wondered if I was to purchase another 2 sonos one speakers, could they all link together to create a 7.1 surround sound system ?

I think this is a recurring theme but haven't seen a topic that actually solves my issue so hoping an expert will be able to help here. We've a couple of Sonos Ones just installed. They are working fine using WIFI and have elements such as Spotify set-up and they've been paired together, so basic config seems OK. Alexa seems to be working OK on it too. The speakers are visible from my phone such that I can direct streams to them, turn them on/off etc. We also installed a pair of Smart Life UP111 sockets to have a go using these devices via Alexa. I can control them using Alexa on my phone and from an Echo Dot but The Sonos speakers can't see them. I don't see anything in the Sonos config that I need to change and am stuck. Is it obvious to you what I have done wrong? Pretty sure the Alexa on the Sonos is meant to be able to control this kind of device? Thanks

Looking to set up guest access to Sonos during parties, without giving up main wifi network info. I understand I could just set it up on a guest network, but I use Sonos daily on my main network (along with other devices) and do not want to have to switch between guest and main network every time I have guests. I have 3 Play ones and a Bridge. Any insight here?

I have some questions about the Sonos Sub. I am thinking of getting a sub for my living room Sonos setup, but it is not entirely clear for me what the ideal setup will be. As I understand it, the Sub is aware of which Sonos speakers it ie paired with and adjusts the base and volume accordingly. My Sonos setup in the living room consists of two Play:5 II (stereo pair), which I use for streaming music and a Sonos beam for my TV-set. Sometimes I am using both the Beam and the play 5 speakers when I listen to music and sometimes I only use the Play 5 setup for music. As I understand it, the SUB is connected to a speaker group - eg. If I group it to my Beam, the Sub will cover the deep tones and let the Beam concentrate of middle and high tones. Further more it seems that changing the Sub to another Speaker set takes some time. (is this correct) and will I have to do the truetone setup every time I change the attachment for the sub? Hello! As the topic says, my Sonos one can’t be found in the Spotify app. I can play Spotify through the Sonos App but I can’t play through Spotify connect. My Spotify account is premium. Okay, I am very new with Sonos and have just installed 1 Beam and 2 Sonos One. I have a Samsung TV which is about 7 years old (Samsung ue32eh5300w). It has 3 HDMI ports, but there is no ARC text printed near these HDMI ports. I thought I just try to connect to one of the HDMI ports and see what happens. Well, I get the TV sound through the Beam (and the One) speaker and I am able to adjust volume with the remote control. Does this mean that I do have HDMI with ARC on my TV, even when the specs are not clear about this and it is not printed on the housing? On my TV I have connected the Motorola TV decoder (through HDMI) and an older DVD player (still with scart). The DVD player probably will not play 5,1 Surround, but as my Provider told me, the decoder should be able to, like also my Netflix account. I must admin, I have to do some tests and maybe this question is more about the TV than about the Sonos system, but in the TV settings, I can only find surround settings with

I have a Play 1 and recently the speaker cracks whenever lower bassier tones are played. Is this something that can be sent in for repair?

I have an old Sony 5.1 theater system which sound is fantastic but the amp is failing and needs upgrading. I discussed with a member of Sonos team whether i could use a connect amp with my system but the speakers are not compatible. Debating whether to buy a Playbar but i'm wondering if i could connect my sub with it somehow to try and get a similar experience to what i already have. thanks

I have a Playbar, Sub and just added the Sonos amp so I could use my in ceiling speakers to create 5.1 surround sound. When I added the ceiling speakers to my setup I chose to add them as surround speakers. I was under the impression that with the new Sonos amp, I would be able to use the Airplay function. I tried to send music from my iTunes library via airplay to the Sonos amp and Playbar + Sub, however I don't see that as an option under Airplay. Why? Do the speakers via the Sonos amp need to stand alone and be incorporated as music speakers vs. surround? Additionally, if I use an old iPod via analog line in on the Sonos Amp, will the music make use of the Playbar and Sub and the ceiling speakers?

My two Sonos Ones have previously been playing BBC radio stations via TuneIn without any problems: 'Alexa, play BBC Radio 4' would return 'Playing BBC Radio 4 from TuneIn' and the appropriate audio stream. Something strange has started happening today. Alexa is now trying to use a BBC skill and, depending on exactly how I ask, may or may not play audio. If I say 'Alexa, play BBC Radio 4', it returns 'Here's Radio 4 FM (tone) the BBC' and no audio stream. If I say 'Alexa, play BBC Radio 4 from the BBC', it again returns 'Here's Radio 4 FM (tone) the BBC' but now with the correct audio stream. Weird, I know: I have tested it again and again. When I look at my Alexa settings, it has added a new BBC skill. If I remove the skill, it just adds it back whenever I request a BBC radio channel. I don't mind using TuneIn or the BBC, but I don't want to have to specify the source every time. I don't know whether this relates to yesterday's 8.6 upgrade or perhaps Amazon have made a c

Is it possible to stop Sonos from muting all zones when alexa is answering a question. My daughter was very chatty with Alexa in her room this evening and it made listening to music in the living room unbearable. At first I thought the music was cutting out but it was just that she was asking her alexa questions.

I just invested in a Sonos Connect:Amp, which I'm successfully using with with a turntable I received as a Christmas gift. I love the setup. I happen to have two Audio Engine A5 powered speakers in the same room connected to my PC that I would love to integrate into a pretty extensive Sonos ecosystem spread across our home. Is there absolutely no way of connecting the two A5's without having to replace the Sonos Connect:Amp with something like a Sonos Connect (no amp)? Any other suggestions to preserve my current investment?

I am looking into your system to use for my home theater system but I am wanting more sound for my front channel than just a playbar. My question is can I buy the playbar and connect two of your play:5 speakers as my front channel using the playbar as my center and then also connect two play:1 speakers as my rear and also connect your sub to the system as well?

When I ask Alexa to play on a particular named speaker it will play on whatever group of speakers where playing at the last usage. Rather than just the one I ask for.
