Good evening all I am going to be getting a Sonos Beam shortly and having had a trial run with a Panasonic soundbar I am certain that the Beam will assist my partner who does not have great hearing. However she does struggle with the loud crash and bang stuff that goes on in the background and the TV volume is constantly going up and down, so am looking forward to giving the Speech/nighttime options a whirl - but a couple of questions:- 1 - Is there a noticeable improvement in the clarify of speech and reduction in background audio when this function is enabled? The Panasonic soundbar we have tested has a speech function but marginal difference. 2 - I understand the Beam can be grouped with other sonos speakers to play the TV audio (not surround sound) - does the speech/nighttime mode settings get replicated in the other speaker (play 1 in my case)? 3 - Would it be weird to my partner if the grouped speaker was adjacent to her listening position playing the TV audio - so she would have

I have an Echo Dot and two Sonos Play:1s, all registered to me, my apps and my phone, all online, same wifi, etc. I have a 'Living Room' group in Alexa.app with "Kitchen Echo Dot" and "Sonos" in it. Sonos is set as default music speaker in Alexa.app and the Sonos Skill is enabled. The problem is when I say "Alexa Play Spotify" I get "Here is Spotify on Sonos. Sorry on Sonos is offline." I can play Spotify on the Sonos using Spotify Connect or the Sonos app, but can't get Alexa to control it. If I'd bought a 4 wheel drive car but years later was told that it was only going to be 2 wheel drive after a software upgrade, I would be pretty p'd off by that and would expect some compensation having been mis-sold a product. However I'm now seeing nagging pop-ups on my Sonos App telling me I will no longer be able to play content from my iPhone after a forthcoming upgrade? 1) In my view that is not an upgrade, 2) It is removing one of the fundamental reasons I invested in Sonos products and 3) I feel I'm going to lose faith in the system if it's a pain to recover from a feature I've had since day 1 ownership. Is this due to pressure from Apple or other manufacturer, have Sonos been providing this feature illegally? Are Airplay 2 compatible Sonos speakers the only solution or should I just not upgrade to the latest Sonos App?

Sonos holds a two day press briefing in New York and not a snippet of news about the event anywhere. Anybody have any intel on the event?

I recently moved into a house with an 11 room Sonos set up. The old owners left all the equipment except for 1 room, the living room, which would be the 12th room in the set up. In that room, there are two Connect:Amps. One is for the speakers outside by the pool, the other is for that living room. However, there are no more Sonos speakers in that room. So my question is, could I set up an older Pioneer system to that Connect:Amp without having to spend upwards of 1,000 bucks to properly outfit the room?

Hi there, So currently have a beam and 2 x PLAY:1 speakers and essentially want to add a vinyl collection and be able to play it through those speakers. I’ve found the Sony PS-LX310BT which has a built in phono pre amp so I want the most cost effective way of achieving the goal of playing the turntable through the speakers I have and what I need I believe that all I need is the connect to achieve what I want but I’m not sure if there’s anything I’m missing? advice greatly received - thanks in advance for the help!

Hi I am looking at buying the new Sonos AMP for my lounge, with the Sub and a pair of Bose 791 speakers. However, I need to understand how the ARC works. I want the options of having the TV sound, Sky, PS4 coming out of my speakers when I want it, but the rest of the time, I just want it to use the speakers built into the TV. Is this selectable or if I use the ARC, does the sound always need to come through the Sonos AMP?

I have a play 1 speaker. I am unable to connect Sonos to the new provider. I have followed the instructions, but when I try to connect via settings - wifi, sonos network is not offered to me. I have also tried the alternative method that's offered using an ethernet cable, but I get a message advising me to check the power and/or the cable connection. Any suggestions regarding what I can do next?

I have an LG TV that's has an RF remote and cant control my Sonos volume. Does anyone have a universal IR/RF remote recommendation? I hate using my iphone to control the volume.

When I ask GA to shuffle songs on my One, it responds "sorry, shuffle mode is not available on this device". Is there any way to get Google to shuffle songs on Sonos?

This screen is frozen and wont respond. I can only add songs or albums to my library play function stopped working 2 days ago. Nothing will play through my sonos app.

At night how can I get Alexa on my Beam to quietly reply. She gets really loud.

I bought into Sonos earlier this year (in April) and been wanting to extend my system into other rooms. I've been looking at additional Sonos One's, maybe Play1's and even considering the IKEA Bookshelf speakers. Last night I came across some Sonos Play 3's for $229 each. That's only a little more than a Sonos One. The Play 3's were already discontinued before I got into Sonos so i do not know anything about them. Is that a good price and are they still a good buy considering their age and that they are discontinued. Your thoughts?

Hello, Looking to purchase two Sonos Connects for outdoor speakers. I currently have a spare receiver that has two "zones" for speaker outputs. My question is, is it possible to wire two sets of speakers to the receiver. Each going to their own zone for different areas outdoors. Then use a Y splitter in reverse to combine the connects to one input on the receiver. My thinking was that I would be able to use one receiver instead of two when the wires and connects will be side by side. Is there a better way to accomplish this? I have concerns about using a splitter in that it may degrade the levels. Thanks!

Good Morning, Firstly I would like to say I have 0 experience in home audio systems and recently moved into a house with an existing setup. I'm looking to convert the system to sonos so that I can add more speakers and control different zones. The house currently has 10 in wall speakers wired to an onkyo tx-rz630 reciever. None of these are used for a home theater. They are all strictly background music. I can stream through the onkyo from my phone but all the speakers play at once.I would like to be able to have 3 different zones as follows zone 1- 6 speakers zone 2- 2 speakers zone 3- 2 speakers So I guess my question is which sonos products would I need to buy in order to make this happen. Also how easy is it to set up with this existing system. The onkyo is not plugged into a TV so trying to work on it has been a nightmare. Thank you in advance for your help

This is for sale on eBay, I have been unable to find another pic of a Sonos connect that looks like this. Is it first gen?

Will the new Sonos with Google Assistant also feature Multiroom across Sonos and Google? For example playing music on Sonos One and Google Home mini at the same time? Thanks for any help.

I have a sonos one and want to use the light feature, do I just buy a Philips hue bulb and sync it to the sonos? Or do I need something besides that. Never had anything like this before, and I'm a bit of a techno phobe

Did I miss a notice that the Connect Amp was being dropped? I went looking for it to answer a question and couldn't find it.

i have a BenQ projector: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01K2V0WP4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and a Sonos Amp connected to four Klipsch outdoor speakers. I tried: Roku -> HDMI input on the Projector -> projector audio out -> RCA input on the Amp but the audio delay is very noticeable. What is the best way for me to connect a Roku streaming stick+ to the Amp for best audio fidelity and remove the audio delay? I have read about using an HDMI splitter like this one: https://www.amazon.com/J-Tech-Digital-Extractor-Converter-JTDAT5CH/dp/B00BIQER0E/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_23_t_0?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=1BMQHQBX240ZGV9KMK1Y) and converting to optical audio, then using

Hello, A couple of weeks ago I gave a party at home for my friends. Ofcourse I used Sonos as my entertainment system. But because all my friends are connected to the home wifi they also can controll the music. So every 10 seconds a new song is putt on. And I find this very anoying. So I thaught it would be nice if there was a "Party Mode" so that only one device is autorised to controll the music. It would be a nice feature for the next update.

I am trying to use Optoma UHD 51A projector (it has optical out) connected to a Roku with 5.1 Sonos setup. I did some digging and stlll not entirely sure if I understand all options / info is a couple of years old to get 5.1 surround and hence adding a new question. 1. Is there a way to achieve 5.1 with the Roku Ultra player itself? I have set audio and HDMI settings to Dolby Digital (not Dolby Digital Plus) but still getting Stereo when checking the app (more / settings / about sonos). Can I add a HDMI switch to get roku to work? Note that the roku app even when connected with a TV does not provide 5.1 with same settings for some reason although the native samsung tv netflix app does. 2. If I cannot get 5.1 out of Roku, what are my other options? Bluray player recommendations that are known to work with projectors? (The ones I could find in the threads are no longer available) 3. Another point I learnt from here is that the projector may not pass through 5.1 even is the source does

Building a new home, I have begun to run speaker wire throughout the main floor. I have bought three Sonos Amps, four Polk V80s, two Polk V85s (living room, kitchen/dining), and six Polk RC80is (patio, bath, bedroom). 12 speakers total, 4 speakers per amp/zone and one Play1... The blue circles below represent where I plan to install speakers (10 speakers out of 12). My question is where to place the last two speakers. I have four red circles as possibilities, a pair for the laundry/mud to tie into the master bedroom/bath zone. Or add another pair to the kitchen/dining zone (living room is it's own zone). The covered deck will tie into the remaining zone I don't choose. My main concern is not having enough speakers in the kitchen/dining area with just the two in-ceilings. I could throw the Play1 on the kitchen counter to add to it if needed. We will spend a lot of time in the dining/kitchen and obviously not so much in the mud/laundry, so I am leaning adding the two extra speakers the

I have a Sonos One with Alexa enabled. I also have amazon echo in other rooms in the house. No matter where I go in the house everytime I say the work Alexa the sonos always goes quiet to listen. I tried changed the voice command name still the same thing. I also closed the door in a room upstairs and spoke quietly to the echo in that room and still the sonos goes quiet to listen with the echo in the other room Very frustrating when you are watching TV etc... Any idea how to get stop this pattern and only listen in the room I am in and talking to it?

I received an email from Sonos this week ' Action Suggested' 'Remove Bridge'. I'm not technical minded so I'm asking the question 'Why?' What has changed that Sonos are suggesting I don't need the Bridge anymore? Have anyone of you done this and is the Bridge really not required, if so, why was it required previously? Thank you.
