Hi, my parents are deciding between an Apple Homepod and a Sonos One as their smart assistant. I was wondering if the two work together fairly easily? They have Apple Music - would the Sonos One be able to easily play music through the Bose soundbar? Thanks!

I have a pair of Bose 251 speakers in my conservatory driven by a Connect Amp situated in the more controlled temperatures in the house. Not strictly an outdoor situation but the temperature in the conservatory can get up to over 40 degrees Celsius. Would I notice any difference if I substituted the Connect Amp for the new Amp, in terms of performance?

Hi, I just picked up a Sonos One Gen 2 and i am trying to set it up with Alexa but i keep getting an error saying "there was a problem adding alexa" I have uninstalled and reinstalled both the sonos and alexa app. i have disconnected the device from alexa app. i have removed the authorisation from the amazon services area. ive tried disabling wifi and using ethernet just in case. i have also reset the sonos to factory settings. nothing seems to fix this issue. I'm in Australia if that matters. I see a few other topics are complaining about setting theirs up too and they seem to be in Australia as well.

I know there are many threads on this already, and I'm pretty sure I've been through them all but still with no luck. I have a bit of a strange setup (not my choice) of Ubiquiti switches and APs, and a Cisco router. We had a very similar setup a few months ago and had no issues, so I know it is possible. We switched service providers who supplied a new Cisco router, and have so far been unable to configure it to work. As far as I understand, there are two components to it: enabling multicast to be broadcast across the VLANs, and then allowing the various UDP and TCP ports in the firewall to allow the controllers to speak to the players. I'm getting a "You're on the xxx network but Sonos isn't." error. I would assume that the multicast component of the problem is working, as surely that indicates the controller is able to find/see the players, but cannot control then? I have tried temporarily opening up all UDP and TCP ports between the VLANs but still no luck. However, if m

I have the playbase, 2 Play 5's, and a sub. The action movies are great when the sub kicks in for big explosions etc, but the dialog is so quiet I have to continuously adjust the volume. I see here on the forum that this has been an ongoing issue that Sonos has had for a while. Has anyone figured out how to properly adjust this?

I am working on a smart home design and as part of this am looking at Sonos and also being able to use the Alexa functionality of it for voice commands. I also want to be able to tell Alexa to play music or playlists off my local music library. If I'm running the SONOS desktop controller, are you able to do voice commands and have Alexa play music from your local collection?

I have a Beam, Play 1 Pair and Sub in my living room & a Play 1 in my dining room. I use all a surround, although they are listed as separate rooms. The pair in the living room crackled yesterday and today they are not working at all. I disconnected the sub and tried to reconnect it but it says unable to connect. I unplugged speaker pair and sub for 5 minutes, turned my router off and back on and plugged the speaker pair/sub back in but nothing. The Beam in the living room is working and the Play 1 in the dining room is still working but that's all. How do I reconnect the Play 1 Pair and Sub? I have tried to reconnect on both my iPhone and Ipad but nothing works.

I can't play all my songs an error says "An error occurred while adding songs to the queue (701)" How do i fix it?

Is it possible to have a controller app that the users can choose the language themselves? I'm in Hong Kong and normally the people here set their phone in Traditional Chinese... However, when we installed the controller app, it will be in Simplified Chinese... Therefore, I could only set my phone in English as default and so the app is now in English. I just wonder if the SONOS team can update the app with choices for the users?

In the 10.1 app update there was a feature called recently played under the My Sons tab, however since the 10.1.1 update this is no longer appearing. I am also not getting My Sons Settings under Settings where this option can be turned on/off. I have done a controller reset and tried setting it up again. Anyone having the same issue?

Hi, Playbar hardwired to network, optical in from TV, wireless for sub and 2 x Play:One. For a few months now the TV remote has taken 3-5 seconds for a volume adjustment to register via the Playbar - including the LED acknowledgment of the IR signal. I need to hold the volume button down on the remote for that long to action an adjustment. All other TV remote functions are processed immediately, so it doesn’t appear to be a problem with the remote itself (I’ve already tried new batteries etc). This wasn’t an issue for the first few years of ownership (TV hasn’t changed), so on the face of it seems to be a software update issue within Sonos? I’ve tried a full factory reset of all components and setup the remote again, but no difference. Diagnostics uploaded - 529557269. Cheers

Would someone be so kind as to help clarify whether there is a function to ungroup all? I have three rooms set up in Alexa groups, each with an Alexa device and a Sonos speaker set as the preferred the speaker. I also have created one group called “everywhere” that contains all three Sonos speakers set as the preferred speakers. Most of the time I just listen to music in a particular room and the preferred speaker functionality works brilliantly, only having to ask the local Alexa to play music and not specify the room. Occasionally, I would like to play music in the whole house which I can do by saying “Alexa play music everywhere”. This creates a Sonos group with all three rooms in as expected. However, this group then sticks and asking for music in any room, even after stopping the previous music, seems to result in it playing on the whole group again. I’m looking to upgrade my outdoor audio and hope to integrate it to my outdoor theater setup. My goal is to use the new AMP to power my new outdoor speakers but I would also like to use this new speaker setup as the audio for my projector. The problem I see is getting the video to the projector and audio to the AMP with a new AppleTV being the source. My Epson EX9200 projector unfortunately does not have any outputs and only inputs and the new AppleTVs don’t have the optical out like they used to so what would be the best way to get this all working? I use a Mac running MacOS X 10.9 Mavericks. I've been totally fine with the status quo of the past 3 or 4 updates that have limited the usability of my desktop controller but still allowed me to edit the queue and add music services. That's about all I need from my computer. But I made a horrible mistake to assume that the status quo was going to last forever. I didn't read the release notes for 8.4 before updating and now it says I have to update my entire computer's OS, which is not an option for me. I wasn't expected MacOS X 9.0 support to be completely dropped with an seemingly insignificant incremental update (it was the update to 8.1.1 that killed it for me I think), and I think that a warning that my controller will become essentially bricked should be displayed before updating. Is there any possible way to downgrade my system's software from where it is currently (8.4) to 8.0 or below? I don't have any Sonos ONEs so that's not a problem. So, I know the Amp do does not have Alexa built in, but I like to use Alexa voice controls to start streaming music. Could I use an Echo dot connected to the line in jack on the Amp to stream music through speakers connected to the Amp? Seems like this should work.

Hi, I recently bought 2 x Sonos Ones purely for the Airplay functionality and being able to stream from desktop. However, despite seeing the speaker choice in the mac's output setting and being able to select it, no audio actually routes to the speakers unless I am in iTunes. I can see in the Sonos app that is receiving play information from Airplay, but no actual output. This should be possible correct? I have been able to route system audio through airplay enabled speakers before. I am running Mac OSX 10.12.6 and V 9.3 on the Sonos Ones. Thanks

Google Home and Google Assistant with Sonos

I have a new Sonos smart house system, and a Mac 10.10.5 with all of my music on it. I am trying to access the music directly from Sonos. The "easy" Sonos online instructions say all I have to do is download the Sonos App, click +, etc and all will work. Only problem is that there is only one App, and it is ONLY for Mac IOS versions 10.11 and higher? Is there no way to get an older App, or otherwise access my music library? (I have a new X iPhone with the library sync'd to it).

I've just replaced a dead amp with a new one. But the system thinks the dead one is still on the list of rooms, even though it's been thrown away. How does one remove it?

Is there a way we could set a turn off time for some of our speakers? My daughter often doesn't turn off her speaker when she falls asleep and on a few occasions the hot tub (connect amp) was left on after people came inside. The same way it can be turned on with the alarm it would be great to be able to set a "turn off" alarm.

When I first set up my connect with my Sonos ready Onkyo receiver, the Sonos app would switch the inputs on the Onkyo when I selected music to play. Now it will not switch. I have to manually do it with the remote. Any idea's? Thank you.

I would like to play "made for you" songs from Spotify through my Sonos speakers without having to download each song. If I could run Spotify through Sonos bluetooth speakers without having to go through the Sonos AP this would solve the problem I think. Is there someway that I can do this?
