Hi All, I have Samsung smart tv and sonos play 1. Now i am planning to buy sonos connect so that i can play the tv sound in sonos play 1. My TV only got optical out and sonos connect also got optical port. If i connect TV's optical out to sonos connect optical port and configure sonos play 1. Does this play the sound in sonos play 1 from rhe TV? Thank you in advance.

How can I play the songs from my sonos library to the headphones on the iPhone? If I'm in the garden and within wifi range I want to listen to the music that's not stored on the iPhone via the sonos app. The iPhone should just be another device connected to the sonos app

I am adding a new zone to an existing multizone setup. This will be a zone connected to a home theater receiver, to allow the home theater speakers to be used as a Sonos zone when the TV is not in use. The consultant I am working with has spec'ed a Sonos Connect for this setup. I have an old ZP80 that I am not currently using. Can I put that in, instead of buying a Connect? The rest of the system uses ZP90's connected to amps and ZP100s connected directly to speakers. Also, if I use the 80s and 100s in my system, will I have any compatibility issues if I want to add new units later, such as SUBs or PLAY:1 (or :3 or :5)? Thanks for your help.

Hello there - I need help regarding my Sonos One and Sonos beam speakers with Alexa. When I ask Alexa a regular odd ball questions she responds just fine something like “how far is the moon” or “who won the game last night” - but when I tell her to go through my flash briefing she says “here’s your flash briefing” than crickets/nothing happens..... or something like “play John Mayer in Apple Music” and she responds “to do that, the skill needs to be activated in the Alexa app.” Or something of that nature. The thing is - all of these things are enabled and music/media accounts are all linked up. It was working properly before but now it doesn’t seem to work ever. I even when as far as resetting all 4 of my speakers (One; 5, Beam, and play 1) and restoring factory defaults and re set up all of my speakers. I am definitely at a loss. Any help or feedback is definitely appreciated - sucks I paid this much money for speakers that the wireless “voice” functionality doesn’t work. Thanks

Rear speaker positioning for a 5.1 setup. Should the rear speakers be facing in towards the room or straight ahead? When I have them forward facing, I barely hear anything 'behind' me. When I angle them in towards my ears, it is much more immersive. I have true-tuned the room.

With Netflix announcing support for Dolby Digital encoding at up to 640 kbps (ignoring Dolby Atmos for now), will those of us with PlayBars or PlayBases be able to take advantage of the higher encoding bit rates, or are we stuck at 192 kbps? What is the highest bit rate that our products support via optical audio connection?

Hi, I have 2 CR200 controllers. The first one has worked OK and updated OK till recently, then I got a second one that had been factory reset. I then mistakenly did a factory reset on my original one and now both of them will not update. Both of them are showing update now button for version 9.2. It gets to downloading, and then says there was a problem .

Is it possible to stop the volume drop that occurs when someone uses alexa via one of the sonos speakers? I'll be listening in another room and it causes my music to drop in volume. This can be annoying. I understand why you'd have this occur in the room you are in but if someone in the loving room uses alexa to turn on a light my music shouldn't drop in volume in the bedroom.

Can I add a ZP120 to my Wifi network to play outdoor speakers and have it sync with all the other Sonos Speakers without a bridge?

When, if ever, will the matte black SUB be reproduced? I refuse to buy the glossy version after seeing a friend of mine's scratched and dust covered. On top of the cosmetic damage the SUB doesn't look right with the other products on the shelf currently!

Hi all, new in this community. I own playbase and 2x play 1`s to sound TV and Spotify music for about 1 year. Great experience indeed. Recently I experienced issue with the surround play 1 (both) they got disconnected and cannot be hooked back on after reboot. I though it could be my wifi router since this was about 4 years old. So I purchased dual one and kept 2,4 Ghz on for Sonos. However it did not solved my problem so I reset all speakers and install them as a new sound system. Got playbase wired with TV cable (cox?) and ethernet directly to the wifi router. Satellites are properly paired and added to the group. So far so good, now the tricky part. The play 1`s do not play sound (tv, iphone library ....) but I can operate the buttons as before and control sound on playbase as this is the only speaker from the group what works just fine. Any idea how to troubleshoot? In setting I do not see any ? marks next to the room name. thanks a lot for any help.

When i ask alexa to play music in one room in my house she stops music playing in other rooms with sonos ones. Music is played via spotify. Its driving me mad. Any suggestions anyone?

I upgraded my receiver to a Denon AVRH3500H from a Yamaha RX-V677 recently. Previously, when using Spotify on my iPhone, I could connect directly to Sonos. Now that option is not there. I can connect to Denon directly via Airplay through Spotfiy but it only plays in my front speaker on my 5.1 speaker set up. The Sonos is ethernetted in to my wifi and connected to the Denon through coax through Cable/Sat 1. THANKS!

In order to control the volume of a sound system through my Sony TV/remote is to connect to the tv with a HDMI cable. The Sonos sound bar connects with a optical audio cable so I cannot use the remote to control the volume of the Sonos. Can anything be done.

I have owned a Sonos system for about 12 years and in the past couple of days I have experienced a problem that I've not seen before. It goes a bit like this: start Sonos. Message that we need to check for software update. 3 step process fails on third step with the message Update problem ! Try again doesn't work. More information recommends unplugging everything and waiting 10 secs. I have done this routine many times. Then all of a sudden, Sonos is working. It will fail again at a later stage, still looking for a software update!! When it does work, the rooms that come up are not always the same and is always incomplete. Although there normally is, there is no option under Manage on my PC app, to add components. Has anybody seen this before and/or have a cure?

Hi Folks. Are the Sonos Outdoor by Sonance speakers "stereo" in that the should are supposed to work together as 2 channel speakers? Or, can I mount them fairly far apart so I can get more "coverage" in my yard?

sonos stops playing songs about half way through. the songs are located on my iphone 8. i never used to have this problem. started about 3 weeks ago. soo frustrating. wondering why i paid so much for this thing. when im forced to use the speakers in the iphone or ipad.

I want a wireless TV surround sound setup for my living room that I can also connect my DJ mixer to. The mixer can be connected to Sonos via wire or wireless. The only thing is that there cannot be a delay with the DJ equipment. I know for most wireless systems there is a 1-2 second delay. For example, if you press pause on your iPhone, there is a delay when the music actually stops. Is there any configuration that works with what I’m looking for?

I have a 5.1 setup with a playbar, 2xPlay1 and subwoofer. Further more some Play Ones in other rooms. Im thinking about replacing the 2xPlay1 with Ones. But will Alexa work in the 5.1 Setup? Or will they have to be "main/primary" for it to work?

I have Sonos in my office of 100+ employees. We run different music on different zones (we have 7 zones) however employees have access too so they can control music in their zones. The issues we always run into is employees selecting other zones accidentally (or purposely) and changing the music. Why hasn't Sonos come out with administrator privileges to prevent this from happening?

As the title suggests. This is when trying to play music, and has been happening for about 10 days now. Example: I say "Alexa play songs by Foo Fighters". She says "Playing songs by Foo Fighters from Spotify - sorry, that device is offline". I've disabled the Sonos skill in the Alexa app, removed Alexa as a voice service in the Sonos app, been to https://alexa.amazon.com/ from a browser on my PC and told Alexa to forget all my devices, deregistered my devices from the Alexa app, and all the reverses of those procedures, all in various different combinations and orders as has been suggested by other forum post solutions, and nothing is working. The answer from Alexa is always the same. If anyone can help I'd be very grateful!

When I first bought the Sonos One I was really happy with it. After the initial setup everything seemed to work fine and I enjoyed controlling Spotify via Alexa. A few weeks later that changed and for approximately two months now Alexa refuses to play Spotify telling me that the device is offline. I have already tried disabling and re-enabling the Sonos skill in the Alexa App. I also let Alexa forget all devices and rediscovered. I changed the name of the Sonos One and I disconnected Alexa in the Sonos App. Nothing seems to work and I am getting more and more frustrated with the Speaker and am thinking about selling it again. So this is my last resort, what other fixes are there or what did I do wrong? I appreciate your help.
