I’m considering buying a Beam, and since the Play:1 is discontinued, would have to buy a One SL (I don’t want Alexa) to complete the setup. Would all three work seamlessly together?

First off, as you are intending to get the Beam, with Alexa, then Alexa would be disabled in any Surround speakers.
If, your intention is to use the Play:1 and One SL as grouped speakers then yes this will work. If you want to use the Play:1 and One SL as surround speakers, then this won't work. You either need to buy another Play:1 secondhand or two One SL's.
