Sonos Arc Vs Ceiling Speakers (main floor)

Hi,

Trying to replicate a “home theatre” type of sound on main floor.

Would I be better doing:

  1. sonos arc, 2 rear ceiling speakers, sub
  2. 2 front ceiling speakers, 2 ceiling speakers, sub
  3. other?

Currently own 2 pairs of ceiling speakers, amp, sub

Your speakers should generally be placed in the direction you want sound to come from.  Therefore, only atmos audio should be coming from the ceiling.  Option 1 would be the better option of your two, but ideally, the rear speakers should also be down at the seating level.
